This is probably the first "puppet" character that I seen that was this easy and top tier in the same time, not even carl from Blazblue was this flexible lol
the gap of difficulty in Carl and Nier is MASSIVE lol. So wild
She's more of a P4A character, not a traditional puppet character

Fighting against Neir feels like fighting against mvc2 strider/doom with no assists.
i bough the game with the "heavy neutral" argument, ended with "rushdown, the game".

I finished watching the Soriz guide only to see this right next to it. The fact you decided to cover two of my favorites is extremely convenient. As someone that has wanted Nier in Granblue for a while this will help me greatly. I've always been pretty ass at fighters over the years but I've gotten somewhat competent at this one and am hoping to at least hit S rank or something one day (and make as many Metera and Cag players suffer as possible while doing so). Thanks for the guides Jiyuna! (could we get a Eustace one at some point?)

I didn't know there was a second single player mode
When Granblue released my friend picked up Nier and I kept getting so frustrated that he changed characters. Now I've picked her up using the most basic ass game plan from your guide and now my friend is upset I didn't earn this "knowledge" myself lmao. I'm doing my part online.

Question so when I do the nier combo ender setup sometimes I read the opponents brave counter by running up and dodging but what do I punish with? A basic 3 hit combo because death is disabled when they got hit with the brave counter

I always thought puppet characters were too hard to play. Thank God Nier isn't a puppet character.

I think quick jab, quick fireball, anti-air and grab are good options against Nier. Which coincidentally none of the players in the video did, as I presume they have too little experience against Nier.
You can kill Death with any insignificant amount of damage (such as the ones from Bravery Counter), and you shut down all of Nier's gameplay for 5 seconds as she lost the range (and some damage) on M/H/Sweep and also have no combo capability other than raging strike. Her reversal (including the metered version) is Armor, thus she can be grabbed during the startup since it is not that fast, or be grabbed on block.
But I do think her damage is too high with her optimal combos. I think a good nerf that doesn't destroy a lower-skilled Nier player's experience is to reduce the maximum amount of damage she can do in a combo, or limit the heart counter more so you risk depleting the heart counter with long combo.

It's seriously ballsy that ArcSys really said no balance patch until February. You'd think they'd at least tweak the newest characters even if just a bit. I'm getting flashbacks to DNF Duel where we waited months for a balance patch and they finally dropped one that essentially did nothing for the game... Feels bad man

Versus Rising just released with 4 brand new characters and also gave every single character new special moves. The characters that have been around for the last 3 years shouldn't need much balancing but clearly a new character like Nier does. A small balance patch towards tweaking the 4 newest characters should be what they're cooking up soon at least. That's not even to mention new systems like Brave Points or the obnoxious 66L.
So I really don't understand your point. This version of the game just released, there's issues they should be fairly quick to fix. Strive has been around for... 3 years now? Of course that game isn't going to need, or shouldn't need, a balance patch every other month.
Even though I know how to fight against her, I'm gonna slip up every now and then.

I got the game because it looks awesome and a lot of the content creators I enjoy are playing it. Seeing as Jiyuna turned me into a filthy Modern Cammy main and got my terrible ass to climb, I'm gonna blame him for me maining Nier until she's nerfed. Then I'll pick an actual character and learn the game.

A character that feels most like "Advanced Gran™️" could be a good guide. Like, you finally buy the game, you only ever played Gran, but you want to actually get better at execution and a more complicated game plan. No idea which Character that is I'm just playing Gran still lol

i picked this character just cause I heard shes busted and I got to s++ in under 40 hours (never played vanilla granblue) and I am NOT that good at fighting games and my neutral really isnt that great, and I did it by learning like two combos and two setups for different situations, some basic frame traps and tick throws, and 66l. I dont even feel the need to learn more with this character. shes broken, how do some people think some other characters are better than this character, def the scrubbiest character of all time and I am super carried.
I want to learn more but so obvious she will get nerfed so don’t want to waste time

He was so busted at release with his unique cane move launcher which guaranteed a tod, his parry had 1 frame activation, a lot of damage for no effort and among the simpler characters to play. He was also called "P2W dlc" after an EVO was made only of him because you needed Leroy for beating Leroy.
