    Also a quick clarification, the mirror and phone holder on the bike are aftermarket, they did not come with the bike. :)

      I bought the XP 3.0 ebike after months of reading and watching videos. My only concern is, I'm 5' with a 26" inseam. It's a stretch for me. The higher bar is a personal challenge. Each sale has FREE stuff. All of those items can be purchased alone as an add on. I got the phone holder, front and rear racks, 2 mirrors, bike lock 🔐 . Just because it's free, doesn't mean you really want it. Please watch the videos. Call or email...they are prompt with answers.

      Can anyone answer the following two questions about these electric bikes, for me: first off, can they be used just with the electric motor, meaning a rider doesn’t have to peddle at all?
      Secondly, does anyone know electric policy for repairs? Should something go wrong with the bike, what would a customer need to do, especially if it was still under warranty? Since they don’t seem to be sold in local shops, and mostly just ordered online, would you have to ship the entire bike back to the company for repairs? I’m just trying to think of the logistics of trying to package that bike in order to ship it back. Would you have to keep the original box and packaging? Or does electric allow you to bring it to a local bike shop and have them repair it?

    • @sjpavur

      @@marymolitor8345 since you have this bike, might I ask you a couple of questions? Do you need to put a bike lock on it if you are going into a place like a store or restaurant and leaving it in the front? I understand the battery can be used unless you turn it on with the key, but I assume someone could just pedal away with the bike? Is that correct?
      Secondly, did they mention what they repair and warranty policies are? How long is the warranty, and what would a customer do if the bike were to need repairs while still under warranty? Do you have to ship it back to the company?
      I appreciate any answers you can offer.

      Might I ask you a question? I am a 60-year-old male, who is not in great shape, but not in horrible shape either. Do you think I would have any trouble lifting the bike in and out of the back of an SUV?
      Secondly, would you recommend the step thru model or the one with the regular bar. As a guy, I am used to bikes with the bars, however, as I get older, I’m wondering if it would be difficult to step over that bar? I assume it is lower than what you would find in an old 10 speed or English racer frame?

    I'm honestly glad the display broke during the review. THe display is a vital piece of an e-bike and i doubt they'll replace it for anyone that breaks it by way of tilt. It's a folding bike, ofc it'll fall over. Could have used some protection around it imo 🙃

    • @HelloRoad
      @HelloRoad  Před 5 měsíci +12

      Yeah I didn't expect that at all!! But looking at displays on other e-bikes, they're all pretty vulnerable. Good news is that Lectric customer service is very good. And if for some reason they want to charge you for a replacement, you can find the exact same display elsewhere for $30.

    First of all, I would encourage you to continue doing these great reviews of electric bikes, is there seems to be quite a bit of interest in them right now. I like how you kept the video real, and showed us a couple of the flaws of the bikes, and also how easily they can tip overand have components break. You could have omitted all that from the video, but I’m glad you didn’t, because it makes things so much more informative for us, knowing the pros as well as the cons of each bike. Many times when creators are sent an item to review, and it is sent free of charge by the company, the tendency for the creator is to give a good review, even if not everything is always so good about the product. I like creators who keep things real.

    Awesome seeing you reviewing an e-bike - you should try out a Specialized Turbo Como or the Haul next! They are "normal bike quiet" while still providing a lot of oomph. I'm very biased, I've put over 5000 miles on mine over the last two years so I'd love to see an objective review of one.
    Edit: my display broke too 😅 was covered under warranty (not cracked, electrical glitch)

    I've seen some others mention that this bike fits perfectly in a 45 gallon plastic storage bin (without the lid). Seems like it's easier to pick up and put in your car that way since it won't flop around, holds some extra doo-dads, prevents some greasy smears, and protects it from getting too banged up.

    We have two of the 3.0 bikes. We get more miles than Lectric claims. My wife and I use PAS 1 or 2, but like you, a lot of time, I use no power assist. We have done several 20 mile rides and in most cases, we might use 1, maybe 2 lines on the battery monitor, sometimes no lines a lot can depend on the terrain you are riding on. We use them on camping trips, but like you mentioned, they have a lot of utility in their design. The wheels are more like a motorcycle wheels, so they are strong, the frame is also made out of both square and round tubing with a lot of options that can be added for lots of applications. The brakes are very good, but a bit loud. I use a road bike for strength training and the ebike for other rides. If you consider the price, look at what a decent road bike costs, they are very competitively priced. All in all, I think they are a good value that offers more than just a bike to ride. They are everywhere also, I havent heard any complaints about problems or bad service.

  • @armagedon515

    Thanks for the review. The bike is almost identical to the GoTrax F2. The only difference is the hydraulic disk brakes on this one. May be it is the same manufacturer. I got the F2 for a thousand Canadian dollars which is a great deal considering the exchange rate. I found the key placement is a pain when you have to stop for shopping and putting it back on, making it also prone to get dirty if you do some off trails. I am trying to find some sort of cover, same for the fragile display. Those bikes are "hybrid" so that you are not stuck by a dead battery. They are fun and very useful to go around. Be careful, as they can be possibly be damage in very rainy condition and in water puddles (IPX4 rated).

      In my opinion it's fine as long as you've got some pedal assist. The bike is pretty heavy (like many e-bikes) so if the battery dies it's a fair amount of work. The pedaling position doesn't seem as efficient as a non-folding bike.

    isn't the purpose of an electric bike is that you don't need to pedal? Battery technology is just not there. And how many charges or hours of use before you need a new battery?

    • @HelloRoad
      @HelloRoad  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Not necessarily. Some people want entirely pedal-free experiences, but others appreciate exercise but like the extra assistance on hills, when tired, etc. Range can vary greatly depending on the bike and riding style. The Super73 moped-style bike I tested could do 30 miles throttle only which was very useful.
