Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Oh this is so awesome, I haven’t done much like this, but today I followed your instructions, but used a red stabilo pencil. Very happy with the results.Thank you, these videos are just fantastic.
New subbie. Enjoy your videos. Kind of been binge watching.
I really loved this video, Niamh. I love your commentary and I love seeing you work in real time. You’re a great teacher. I watch every single video you make and I love that you’re Australian too. I appreciate the artists from all over the world but it’s just nice to get teaching from home. Thanks for the tip that I can get the Stabilo from Office works. I have a few that I ordered from Lulu Art here in Australia and Time to Create. Also in Australia. Love your work.
Loved it! Thank you so much! Now to try and find this magic in South Africa 🙈
I found this really helpful. I have heard of the Stabilo All pencil but really didn't fully know how it was used. I have been following your channel to learn how to Art Journal and appreciate the time and effort you put into sharing with me and others who want to learn. Congratulations on your accomplishment.
Just discovered your channel and love your art and process! I'm in sunny California. I've been dabbling in art for ages. Retirement allows me time to watch lots of CZcams demos. You're a favorite now.
Judy Lamb thank you so much and welcome☺️
wow and thank you for showing this, im so terrible at faces, but im going to try this and see how I go xoxoxox
I hope you do - but there are plenty of better face drawing videos on CZcams. However, I have become happy with making the faces more whimsical and out of proportion so it looks deliberate - I have come to peace with the fact I will never draw a 'realistic' face, and that's okay too :)
Hi Niamh, you have a new fan here, I’ve watched a couple of your videos, luv what you do, luv that your open about mental health I’m still trying to learn how to process those emotions through creativity/art. Thanks so much for this particular video, I have one of these pencils, I bought it because you can write on any surface with it. Oh n I’m in QLD, luv it when I find other Aussies on social media. Thanks for sharing your creativity
Welcome Leanne, glad you are enjoying the videos. And thank you for your kind comments. I've got to the stage in life that I feel its important to share the good bits and the difficult bits, because I'm able to (after a long time not being able to). And if it helps one person - thats great. I hope your art brings you lots of peace of mind and creativity xxx
😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Yea office works are funny with packaging I ordered a black and white and they were sent in 2 seperate large boxes, when I ordered them together lol. I have only started to get them and cant wait to experiment more.
Oh - I hope you have fun experimenting
I have never used the all pencil, but in watching your process I use my Derwent Ink pencil in the same type of process. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for the good tutorial. I bought one of these because I have seen you use it, but I feel intimidated by it. Hopefully next time I pull it out will be a more comfortable experience.
Just dive right in and use it - even if its just on scrap paper. If you really hate it - load it up with water and most of the mark will dissolve x
Hi from Mission Beach far North Qld.
I’m enjoying your videos, ideas and instructions.
I’m new to journaling and appreciate the guidance and great ideas.
I can’t wait to get myself some of these pencils to try myself.
Big thanks 👍🌸🌸
Hi Kathy, welcome! I am so glad that you are having fun journalling and playing - I hope you enjoy your pencils x
Niamh Baly I’ve got them on order at Office Works. Can’t wait for them to arrive 🥳🥳
Hello from across the ditch in NZ. I stumbled across you today and love your style. I have used stabilo before through altered book courses with Lorrimarie Jenkins from California and they are great fun!
Hi Boonie - Welcome! i do love your beautiful country x
Tfs. I recently got a black stabilo all pencil from online but so far have only used it to create shadows around colleges and words. Must try sketching with it and get other colours, especially the blue, that looked so intense when wet. Also need the white! Oh oh looks like another shopping spree! X
The other colours are awesome - have to admit, really haven't used them to their full potential yet
The Mixed Media Store online has them. I just got two! I am in Australia.
Officeworks sells them too online:)
lots of simple is good, lots of simple makes complicated.
I like that saying - thank you :)
Hi Niamh, I’m in Launceston in Tas and we only have one craft shop left up this way. Our office works isn’t the best either lol..
traceyjanine bevs Cross crafts does online delivery which is really reasonable- and she’s only an hr from launie as well if you want to visit in person. The addy is www.bevscrosscrafts.com.au . It’s the only craft/art store near me too (I’m a Wynyard girl) and it’s worth the trip😊 was up in launie yesterday 💕 May have bought a heap of card from regal press cheap!!!! Lol
Love your work.just found you yesterday and I have watched already several of your videos. I also love to work with the stabile, but have never tried to use it on its own, will try this now. Can you tell me what your brushes are, I still can not find one that I am really happy with and as you are from Australia I might be able to find it easily. Also where did you get your heat tool from. So keep it up and look you posted this one up in July and asked for the next 2000 followers and you achieved this in no time. From Adelaide South Australia. Cora B
Hi and welcome. I think the brushes I have are from Ikea - in the kids section. I have small hands so I find the smaller handles easier to work with. But any brushes will work okay - most of mine come from our local $2 shop :)
Hello there. Thx for the vid. Quick question.
Aside for the surfaces they work on... is there a difference between the black Stabillo All and a regular black watercolor pencil like an Albrecht Dürer?
Tbh I’m not sure. The stabilo seems to be very black and very reactive, like an ink at times. Most watercolour pencils I have used seem to stay where they are until moved with bc a brush. The stabilo will move with water spray.
@@NiamhBaly thank u. That actually helps! 😊
can i have 5 cents for each time i've watched this simple lil vid please? that's what i need...some more decent brushes. I notice the one you wet yr stabilo sketch with & the one you apply black gesso with are perhaps from a set? Did you get them from bev's? what size is the sketch one please? is it a water paint brush?
I have no idea- I’ll go back and watch the video this weekend
@@NiamhBaly thanx...glad to see yr obedient with yr homework. :)
