Hi Woodie, I always feel uplifted when I view your videos and work. There is such a human presence whereby people are smiling and interacting with friends, loved ones and children. In a crazy world, New Yorkers seem happy. Maybe it's the combination of your editing, music and the general atmosphere that you bring to your experience which becomes apart of those with you on the day as well as ours, the viewer. Love the painting. Good compositional move to have no sky. The building has such a strong presence with the foliage surrounding it. The people , painted with one or two strokes evoke a good sense of scale. Well done.
Thank you so very much for your thoughtful comments and continued support of the channel David. I really think you hit the nail on the head. It's a combination of all the things you mentioned. I feel like I could go almost anywhere in NYC and get that human presence you speak of, and that's what I've discovered is so fun about painting in an urban environment. Each and every person that walks by is completely unique. The videos organically highlight this aspect of city life.
BTW-This was the video I noticed the red glasses:) I'm a painter too and I have a pair which I really should use! They seem very helpful. Thanks again for sharing your art 🎨♥
You should definitely get in the habit of using them. They are also invaluable for comparing the relative value of paint mixtures😉They are one of my favorite tools that I wish had discovered earlier in my painting career. Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments and support of the channel! Best of luck on your plein air painting journey🙂
This one! I've watched several of your videos and really enjoy seeing your process and the end results. In my humble opinion this painting is your best yet.
nice work, you made memories for lots of people. when I find an interesting building like this one in my town's parks, they seem to always turn out to be bathrooms. Hard sell.
I also do a little PA when not doing pottery. Love the red glasses to block in and get the contrast for composition. Good idea. Nice work and concept of getting a camera to get reactions.
Made me smile. Reminds me of when I was still able to paint en plein air back in the 1970s and 80s -- including a church on Staten Island in the middle of a snowy winter and in Banff in the summer amidst swarms of mosquitos, hitchhiking with oil paints and a sleeping bag. Now just occasional indoor portraits and seascapes with pastels or watercolors. Actually, this one reminds me of one I painted in a commune on Quadra Island after I took mushrooms -- I don't mean that as an insult. It was quickly purchased. The light and subject and weather were similar. But I did use more purple in the shadows from that day onward. ;)
Hahahaha! No offense taken. Sounds like you've lived a pretty interesting life. You could be a character in a Tom Robbins book😉 Thanks for the kind words and support of the channel! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Complete agreement - there’s something extraordinarily beautiful in the light captured on the roof. How about a series of boat pond paintings?!?!?! (And awaiting your signature ice cream truck art….)
Thank you for the kind words and continued support of the channel! I plan on painting more ice cream trucks and boat ponds when the opportunities present themselves. In the meantime you can check out these videos to satisfy your sweet tooth🍦 and nautical⚓ proclivities😉 czcams.com/video/LjWTWIyJyMo/video.html czcams.com/video/9e_zkRZoM1o/video.html czcams.com/video/PaNq3tO_jgY/video.html
Came out so good, Woodie! You mentioned boats.....are they remote controlled boats or big boats? I love seeing the different parts of NYC. Most of us will never see what you show us, Woodie!
They are usually remote controlled boats but sometimes you even see some old fashioned ones with string to pull them back in. Glad you enjoyed the video Kay!
@@WoodieWebber That's so awesome about the remote controlled boats, Woodie! So much to see and do in NYC. There's about 5000 in my town here on Maine and it's a pretty area but not much to do. Thank you for showing us another angle of NYC!
Really like how you captured the light on the roof and surrounding trees! ... Definitely gives the feeling of a summer day ... I find mixing greens challenging ...you have a nice variety and the tonal contrast really works well ... As always thanks for posting taking the time to edit and put together an enjoyable video of your painting day!
Awesome Woodie, like how you highlight a smaller part of the scene rather than the usual overall view. You really are painting very well and I envy your summer weather. Love how people react to the what’s he doing stage compared to the nearly finished stage, it’s priceless!👍
Hahahahaha! Yes there's certainly a stark difference that becomes magnified when I edit the footage down for the videos. Thank you for the encouraging word and continued support of the channel Leigh!
Awesome video. I thought this one was especially moving. And cool editing too. I’ve been watching for a while and am trying to do more Plein air myself. It’s inspiring you can paint and have conversations, I get distracted but can see it could work. Nice job Woodie!
Beautiful, how it all comes together, the painting, the people, everything.
Excellent composition.
Painters rule.
Thank you for the kind words and support of the channel!

Hi Woodie
You know it's a good painting when that many people pulled out their cellphones to take a picture. Awesome Job!
Take Care
Hahaha true. I even edited out about half of them. Thanks for the kind words and continued support of the channel Greg!
