Join me for another plein air painting adventure in New York City! This time I set up in front of a famous diner. Watch as I converse with a cast of characters on a hot NYC day. In the great Seinfeld tradition this is my monumental attempt at producing a video about "nothing!"
Music:
00:33 "The Shiny One" by Big Girl

09:22 "Nicer" by Houses On The Hll

Good job man. The number of people walking by that you made smile, comment, stop and look. So good. Cheers
Thanks for the kind and supporting the channel Stephen! Glad you enjoyed the video!
woody, you been sick i miss your loose painting love watching you paint. thanks 4 coming back
Thanks for the concern Dale. No need to worry. I'm as healthy as ever (knock on wood). I just took a temporary break from CZcams. More videos are currently in the works. Thanks for your continued support of the channel!
Watching you paint is fun - so are the people!
Thank you so very much for the kind words and continued support of the channel Elisabeth! Glad you enjoyed the video!
You brought so many people joy. I love seeing their smiles as they watched you. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words and continued support of the channel!
you have such a kind disposition with all these people , and their comments ( the good ones, and the occasional rude ones lol).. I paint plein air almost daily ( long island and queens , mostly) , and the few times that i've done it with a number of people watching , i try to remember to be easy on them ( if they say something silly or rude , etc) and in myself lol .. wishing you all the best !! Norakag 👍👍
Thanks for the kind words and support of the channel! Maybe someday we'll cross paths in NYC. Happy painting!
Awesome Woodie! Thank you for sharing.
Another good one woody. Always like hear the soundtracks to your videos but the people interacting is great too!
Welcome back Woodie :) Love watching you paint and watching people watching you paint ;)
Thanks Laura! Glad to be back!
Good Music too. Love Seinfeld Show in the past.
Seinfeld is definitely one of my favorite TV shows of all time!
Amazing painting, Woody! I loved listening to everybody who spoke to you, especially Gary, because those of us who also paint (like Gary does) are in awe of somebody like you!
Thanks as always for the kind words and support of the channel Kay! It's always fun to chat with a fellow painter and Gary was such a nice guy. Happy painting!
@@WoodieWebber the one thing I don't agree with Gary on is the artist he mentioned that your painting style reminds him of. You are totally Woody Monet! Can't wait to see your new studio! I hope that means your art is doing financially well, because nothing me and your supporters want more than for you to be able to support your sweet little family with your art! 🤘😎❤️🤘
" Paint Slinger", I am not only amazed by the way you apply pigment to canvas but also with your interaction with the people that stop to talk. It also amazes me that you take the time to respond to everyone that comments on your videos. It speaks volumes about your character and your willingness to share your time with everyone that you come in contact with. Keep slinging that paint brother!! PS. Not sure, but I think I saw George walk by while you were doing your thing.
Thanks for the kind words and continued support of the channel Ken! Hahaha, I actually thought Gary reminded me a bit of a real life Kramer. He was such a nice guy with a unique personality.
Also, the guy made a good point when he asked you about Maurice de Vlaminck. Thanks Woodie
That he did! I looked up that artist when I got home and sure enough, I have seen his work at the Met. Others have commented that some of my paintings have a fauvist feel to them as well. Thanks again for watching and supporting the channel Stephen!
Thanks sir! I haven't done this for a long time. You've inspired me!
That's great! Glad the video could serve as inspiration. Happy painting!
Great Work Woodie! Love your paintings! Keep it up!! May the LORD bless you. ❤️🙏
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! I'll continue to keep at it.
Hey Woodie it's good to see you back making paintings!
I love the bold brush strokes it looks awesome.
Take Care
Thanks for the kind words and continued support of the channel Greg! It's good to be back!
Nice painting! The first four minutes, with shots of the crowd on the screen and "The Shiny One" playing, was the best video intro you've ever done. Better than most everything on CZcams. I'm going to have to go put this on the big TV. Thanks!
Wow! Thanks so very much for such an amazing compliment Michael. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Your painting might be as important to the people who see you do that as the actual painting - the rekindling of dreams, a joy break- cool!
Well said Elisabeth! The interactions that I have with passersby are important to me as well. These conversations feed into the painting and impart a unique energy that can't be achieved while painting in the studio. Happy Painting!
@@WoodieWebber thank you! Am loving returning to painting now that I am retired.
Fantastic painting
Thanks for the kind words and support of the channel Dale!
Well done, Woodie. 👍
Thanks Bob! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Good Music too
Glad you enjoyed the music! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
Hi Woodie, good to see you again, I was worried that I wasn't getting notifications for your posts anymore and once I typed your name in; this video appeared. My computer needs a reprimand. People are so interesting and great to see that what you were painting was resonating with various people. It seemed like this painting had some real challenges to navigate. It's so interesting to see the push and pull as your brush danced around the composition with the aim of tweeking and refining. It showed how carefully considered you need to be even with a work that some people would think is quick and easy to do. I'll check that artist out too and see what the guy thought might have been the connections. Thanks for what you do.
Thanks as always for the thoughtful comments and support of the channel David! The painting was definitely a challenge, and I'd probably do a few things differently if I had it to do over again. Maybe I'll revisit this location at some point in the future. Happy painting!
Very nicely done Woody👍
Thanks so much Leigh! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great work, bud. I was worried about you. It’s been a while!!!
Thanks for your continued support of the channel David! No need to worry. I just took some time off from You Tube to better manage other responsibilities. My family and I are healthy and happy. Happy painting!
“She got a real Job!” um lady, being an artist is a real job
Hahaha! It's all a simulation😉 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Hey Woodie ... Really nice with somewhat condensed perspective... Always like your loose painting approach and brush strokes you create ... Are you going to show the painting to the owner of the restaurant?
Thanks for the kind words as well as your continued support of the channel Nancy! When I got home with the painting my wife really liked it and requested we keep it in our collection. I do think I will go back and paint it from a slightly different angle/composition in the future. Maybe I'll show that one to the owner of the restaurant😉
@@WoodieWebber sounds like a good idea!
Do u use acrylic or oils?
I use a limited palette of oils when painting outside. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel Esteban!
Very french:))). It's incredibile how infuluential Seinfeld is after all this time. I mean even the title''Seinfeld Diner'' . Cool.
Hahaha! Yes. Seinfeld was my favorite show growing up. When a new episode would air, my friends and I would recount our favorite scenes the next day at school. Years later, I've seen those same episodes hundreds of times and they still hold up today. Thanks for the kind words and support of the channel!
@@WoodieWebber I still watch them constantly. At least once per week. And I still discover new things about the subtleties of the acting. It was incredibile. And your work is great . Too bad it was not included in one episode. It could give a good plot....:))
