    Normally agree with Doug, but this is a bad take, IMO. He's clearly just trying to dispel the idea that he can't play on ball, is going to be offensively challenged, etc. to improve his draft stock. They're all doing that in these interviews. It would be silly to pass on a great fit between Ball and Miller because of one comment that he made about wanting to play with the ball in his hands. He's going to interview with the team presumably, and in that interview when Peterson is gonna ask him: "How do you feel about playing SG, having plenty of offensive opportunity between Melo and Miller, being a secondary ball handler, hounding guys 1-3 on D, and sometimes backup PG?" I would be shocked if Castle doubled down then and said, "Nah, I gotta be the primary initiator to be happy. It's that or nothing."
    If he said that, then yeah, don't draft him. But it's way to early to put him on a 'Do not draft' list based on this comment - c'mon now.

Honestly his size and we were 29th in defense i think he would be a great pick but this draft is so up and down i think we need more time to know more.

    @valis14 Před 6 dny

    Don't think this is really hard to understand at all and unfortunately, the Charlotte fanbase won't enjoy the answer. Castle (and likely his reps) are trying to telegraph his draft spot to either San Antonio, who could really use him, or maybe Washington, where they need everything. If you're Castle, would you rather play with Pop, Wemby and Co. in San Antonio or in Charlotte? Think deep down, we all know the answer to that. When Rob Dillingham announced he was entering the NBA draft, he pretty much did the same thing. And in Washington, Castle would make more money and they're basically a blank slate in terms of their youth movement outside of Avidja and Coulibaly. So yeah, I don't think it's any secret what is going on and it's really hard to blame Castle considering Charlotte's track record up to this point.

Castle has less blks, stls and Castle has no flash to his game. Holland finish at the rim % is also better. Holland had a better season than Scoot and it seems alot of analysts keeps sending us question mark players. I don't even see alex sarr shhowed anything special with only avg 9 points and 4 rebounds as a 7 foot player. Draft the best role player in this draft that we can get. However if Ron Holland is there i would like the pick, he reminds me of Kawhi Leonard we he was playing for San Diego State. @tonydavis9472 Před 13 dny

      @@lloydfarmer there's the issue, teams can leave Castle because he's not a threat. Castle has a hitch at the top of his shot and his motor and athletic abilities doest stand out compare to Holland. If we only talking about defense, Holland avg 2 stls, 1 blk, 6.6 rebounds and his help side defense is very quick to the ball and his recovery is elite. Holland max vertical is also higher then Castle. Castle like you said was not the focus, so he had others to help him shield his weaknesses, knowing that you have a shot blocker and the offensive player knows not to go into the paint make it hard for me to say he is an elite one on one. But with Holland watch how if he does get beat of the dribble he recovers with a blk.

    • @lloydfarmer
      @lloydfarmer Před 12 dny

      @tonydavis9472 I simply disagree. I don't think that we can say Castle is not a threat, he simply wasn't given a role to be an offensive threat throughout much of the season. However, when he was challenged to be a threat in the final four, which is a completely different competitive environment from g league ignite which play what amounts to a season full of practice games, he led his team with 21 points against Alabama and scored 15 against Purdue in the championship game---when it matters. Shoots 75% free throw. Great assist to turnover ratio. Universally regarded as a great defender.
      I'm not saying that I like him more then Holland or some others, but I think much of the "he ain't got no offense" is simply inaccurate or unknown at this point.
      And all Holland can consistently do at this point is drive the ball on offense. He is very limited at this stage, with star potential if his shot and creation become more consistent (very, very, very similar to......Stephon Castle).

      @@lloydfarmer when did I say he doesn't have an offense. I compare him to Holland. Castle had other players and a hugh center to lob the ball to. Watching Castle play did not scream top 10 just like watching Scoot play did not scream generational talent. I agree that G league is a popular but the difference is that playing against grown men as a SF translates PG doesn't truly translate. Castle had a center that was a defensive stop, so Castle can play up on his opponents more often, however Castle did get beat but had help on the back end. Holland, motor is higher, and he was the go to guy, so he knows how to create. If Castle showed more stls, blks rebounds and assist then maybe I pick him in the top ten. But the Media alway push players to the hornets that are average and fans eat it up. Then these same fans say we always pick the wrong guy. There are 3 players I'll pick before Castle.

    Charlotte has a way of wasting UConn players. Terrible organization.

    You absolutely draft him, imo his stock went up. He's obviously trying to get up the draft board and has nothing to do with not wanting to come to Charlotte.
    Get him here with a chip on his shoulder for the teams above him that didn't draft him and rozier got enough on ball time next to Lamelo that it shouldn't be a hard sell or even the fact we need to sell.
    He's also already shown he's prepared to sacrifice to win. He's a competitor and he just wants to win
    GET HIM IN!

    If we trade for Julius randle and draft castle or clingan this could be a very competitive team
