If you can miles for less than 25 mil a for 4, that's a start. Trade back for Knecht or draft him at 6, should fit in as a younger healthier Haywood. The hornets gain a bench with their trades at the deadline. And if miles doesn't work, next year's draft has better depth

Cody was better than Caleb before he got injured. Maybe he doesnt get it back, but when he looked good last year, he was good. Just injuries plaguing him. Maybe a full off season for these guys gets us some health. I still want us to draft Holland, partly for this reason
Yeah some health could go a long way for that boy Cody. I’m not sure I understood the Holland part though, can you elaborate?
@@_AVC_ partly to replace Cody or share his minutes. I value what Cody brings when he is 100%. Hornets brought in DSJ and Ntilikina in back to back seasons to improve the defense on the perimeter. Just draft someone to do it, someone who has the defense but can add to the rest of their game. Castle fits the mold too, I just think he is angling for San Antonio and Vic with that I'ma PG talk
@@averiskonsept So I didn’t mention all the details in the video but I’ll give ya the full insight on what the scouts are saying.
We all in the basketball world know that the UConn staff is telling his party to try and not end up in Charlotte. They know if he ends up in SA he has a better shot at success but they know that SA doesn’t really need what he is. None of the scouts (including myself) see him as a PG but there is certainly some skill! The general belief is that unless the Spurs really value his personality fit (which they probably do to some extent) that they would rather get a true PG.

?? I did . You would rather pay old Tobias Harris 18mil instead of bridges 18-20mil? We let him walk for feee after eating the bad press and losing him full season and 10 games, hell no. This next upcoming season we back on track w our plans before bridges issues. Build team around melo, bridges and now miller. I know we need vets but I’d rather look for like Al holford types who are cheap but can play defense/score alittle and mentor. Not 18-20mil a year past their prime stars.
@@mrlucky704 It’s the culture part of it. Don’t look at it from a basketball perspective. There is so much that goes into making a winning team. It’s not just, this guy is better or this guy is. Sometimes you just need to start building the right atmosphere.
@@_AVC_ it’s just that Tobias was basically 3rd wheel behind maxey/embid and philly is happy to get rid of Tobias and hornets finally got rid of Hayward who was 25+mil injury prone bum and Tobias has knee issues. Heck lots of hornets fans almost over melo after all the injuries. I’m staying away from any injury prone or past their prime guy if I’m hornets. Bridges stays healthy and I really wanna see the melo/bridges/miller show all healthy next year. We just need to acquire depth. I hope we draft kinecth at 6 and somehow trade up from 42 to 15-20 range and get edey. If we get a viable center clingan/edey we can trade richards but right now we need him for sure.
I agree got to keep bridges he was the most consistent player outside of Brandon miller and to be honest as of right now I think he better then Harris…got to bring him back and he wants to stay in Charlotte

I like the style and the video was enjoyable, definitely disagree with not resigning or at least trading Miles. Nick Richards started a lot for us this year and really sucked lol, he really shouldn't start even if he is a good backup. Also Nick Smith is the future!
I don’t know about Nick Smith but hopefully he is! As far as Nick Richards goes, I know a ton of teams could get more out him. Honestly that should be an expectation of Hornets players haha. How many times recently have we seen guys pick up their play after leaving?
I did watch - and was waiting for a bridges element! I think lamelo will insist on bringing him back and that will be the plan, for better or worse. Time will tell. Not seen you videos before but really enjoyed it, bit of an NBA noob so seeing the trades/picks etc broken down this way is very helpful. Looking forward to more content 👍🏻

Great vid. Have to disagree about this take. If we’re pushing for being a “premiere franchise” going after T Harris would literally be another batum Hayward situation. Older guys wanting a bag before slowly retiring. We need to start thinking in terms of the coaching staff we NOW have. For the players, Chemistry will be the most important thing with an entire new staff. No need to let go of melos right hand man for someone 30. I understand the contract take but getting rid of players like Bertans Richards and Martin NOW and not LATER. will free up more money for Miles. We draft castle sign miles. Sign Jackson Hayes or Vet center. This culture is already gonna change with Lee and all his new assets

So when it comes to the Bridges thing that’s a culture move not a basketball move. I’ve always found some people fit in culture and some don’t. I totally get that the basketball fit isn’t as ideal (I don’t think it’s bad but not ideal), but bringing in the right vets goes so far with young guys your trying to grow.
@@_AVC_ This is where us as hornets fans have to understand that miles is the culture fit. Being one of the only durable players on this roster Miles has proven through his game he’s worth a spot. We need Hornets legends. The fans love him too much. dropping him for a player like T Harris for only 2 years wouldn’t be worth it if we want to make playoffs for next 3 seasons. Also think your discrediting our entire new office. Charles lee Jeff P will use their connections to bring pieces here to where players like Claxton or Derrick white could have interest instead of looking at players like T Harris. We sign miles for 20 max. Sign jax Hayes. Richards Bertans Cody Martin will all be off our team for cap space and another depth piece. We have castle or Holland or Shepard. Now we’re looking like a full team. Coaches and staff chose this team with the roster they see.
@@wonderkidd2549 I think the franchise is gonna have to prove itself because I promise you nobody in the league has seen the franchise as that. I can’t give credit if nothing has happened yet. I sure hope it does though. Takes a while to establish that culture.
How I want it to go:
- Resign Miles if it’s for anything under $25 million a year.
- With the options do exactly what he did in the video.
- At #6 my big board is 1. Castle 2. Matas 3. Holland. Either of the first two guys and I’m super happy.
- Were not trading Nick Richards
- Sign a third center to fill out the roster (if the math is right)
The hope is that everyone stays healthy for the first time in over 2 seasons and actually look good like we did before the injuries. If we got off to a hot start we’re set up perfectly to trade for a all star level player like Mikal or Lauri. We’ve got the contracts and picks to pull it off. Just depends who else is bidding and who’s available.
What do you think the ceiling is for that team next year? I’m just curious what the goal would be in your eyes.
@@_AVC_ I think the ceiling next season on the team I described without trading for another all star level guy like I mentioned in the last part would be a 1st round loss in 6. The goal would just be play in though. Which I think is easily achievable if healthy. Just look at the last time we were healthy. 43 wins with Mason Plumlee at center. I can’t stress enough how injured we’ve been the last 2 seasons. This team is actually decent, no ones been able to stay on the court at the same time though.
@@Daniel_Barbie Yeah no I don’t disagree with the injuries. I could see a 9/10 seed out of it at a minimum if healthy. Big ask unfortunately with Melo but aye we can hope.

-I like the idea of trading Nick, but idk if he’ll garner a future frp. Considering how weak the centers are in FA, we might be better holding onto him till the deadline
-I’d actually use our money on KCP. Veteran guy who knows how to win and would fit like a glove. I’d throw Royce o Neal/Deanthony Melton there as well
-I was a huge supporter of Castle to CLT till I heard he’s refusing to workout for teams with a pg, so I’d take the flier on Ron. He’s raw but I’ll bank on his work ethic, motor, and development of his outside jumper. The teams been hinting that they wanna play Miller at the 2, so he could compete for that long term 3/4 spot.
This is the most excited I’ve been for a Hornets offseason, especially with a new coach, GM, and owners in place so hopefully we can build something that leads to success for years to come. Great video again and you earned a sub 🫡

The lack of centers is why I want to trade him. Scarcity invokes value. In a world where teams need bigs and can’t afford the like 3 solid ones you can get this guy for $5 million.
I like the KCP idea! Royce/Melton make sense to me but I think Melton is the only “realistic” ones. The other two seem to want to compete.
So the Castle thing is complicated. I have heard a lot of my inside people tell me about it and I wouldn’t put a ton of weight on it. Most teams can’t and won’t let him play PG. I haven’t heard a scout say they think he should yet either. It’s all just smoke to try and get him to SA. They don’t want him on these other lottery teams.
I’m really hoping for some improvement from the franchise! Rooting for y’all!

Yeah no if you wanna swing for upside he is one of the few with it. I think you could trade back and accomplish that though. I don’t think he goes top 10.
I do worry about trying to grow him in Charlotte as he’s still raw and the Hornets traditionally grow guys well. I would feel better if I saw this new regime have a nice stable year first.
@@_AVC_ the new staff is hiring quite a few coaches w/ developmental backgrounds. I think the trade up/back in a draft is usually difficult. Have to find the perfect suiter. Would just rather choose my guy. Not much difference between 10 and 6 IMO
another option for center could be their 2nd round guy from last year james nnaji whos currently overseas showed some nice flashes but doesnt get much pt because of FC Barcelona's center depth

Definitely harping on the Miles thing a little too much. We ate the bad press and the suspension time already. Him and LaMelo are good friends. He was the healthiest player on the roster last season. He’s definitely at least double the player Tobias is if you put Tobias in the situation Miles was in last season. I get the culture change emphasis but I think changing owners, FO, coach, and with Brandon taking the leadership role from LaMelo and previously Terry Rozier that’ll be enough of a culture change. Brandon and Grant are doing a great job so far being leaders trying to change the culture. Charles Lee coming in should only emphasize the work they’ve already put in to change things. With the culture change I think we only see Miles get better. The money has to be right though to bring him back. I wouldn’t go above 25 million/year.
So yeah I totally hear that from your perspective. I’ll phrase this a little carefully because it is a sensitive topic obviously. I’m pretty well connected in the league and I just know things that the average person doesn’t, I obviously don’t expect that out of you or anyone else as that would be ridiculous. I’ll just say I let those things impact my decisions here for sure and I don’t elaborate on them because it’s really not my place.

An idea for the warriors trade is trading chris paul to the hornets. He has a non guaranteed contract but can guarantee 5 mil to match contracts and then the hornets can waive/buyout him. Hes from north carolina but i doubt he wants to babysit the hornets and im sure he wants to try to compete for a ring.
I like the nick richards deal with the warriors but another team off top of my head that came to mind was the nuggets. A backup center not named deandre jordan would be useful (keeping him as udonis haslem role tho for denver is cool). They can trade their 2024 first, they have some seconds. Do u offload zeke nnaji contract? Reggie jackson could be a vet for the hornets since he didnt get much playoff mins.
I do wonder about how the miles bridges situation plays out because it seems he loves it there. I remember at the deadline i dont remember if it was shams, windhorst, or woj but someone said he would use his no trade clause due to signing his qualifying offer. Hornets have a need for talent but at same time they also need vets and maturity. If he dosent resign with charlotte maybe detroit, utah or somebody pays him.
Also i love the idea of castle on hornets but ive seen recently that apparently the spurs love him. Who would u take if castles off the board? Dalton knecht?

Yeah Castle and his camp (which includes the UConn staff) are doing everything to keep him away from certain franchises. They know the Spurs don’t need him so they are trying to sell him as both a good culture fit (which is probably true and they value), and that he fits them positionally (which isn’t probably true but in this class they might not care).
If they don’t pick him yeah I would probably just say DK. I feel like Hornets fans will want Holland but I don’t think they can properly develop him.
