I work at a Volvo dealership as a service porter, so I get to test out plenty of Volvos, new and old. We got a brand new 2022 XC60 B6 in our service loaner fleet, and man do I love it.
I love the shifter. It's so easy to use. Idk why people complain about the two clicks, as I can do my actions very quickly without issues. I've also done a 10-mile drive with it, and I got an absolutely impressive 29 MPG. On a 2021, I'd be lucky to get anywhere close to 24. I love that loaner so much that it's now my favorite loaner in the fleet, but I have a good amount of complaints...
    1. To get to Trip Average screen, you have to tap the O button (not the three lines), it's confusing if you are coming from the pre-refresh Volvos.
    2. The brake pedal is very weird. It has a really firm feel, but when you step on the brake, it takes a bit of input to slow down, and even then it's touchy.
    3. No odometer readout. Yep, you gotta go into the Trip meter menus to see that.
    4. Customizable gauges. Would love to see a red, sporty gauge theme like the older Volvos. Probably will come in an OIA update.
And interesting fact: when you go to pull into a parking spot and the sensors detect an object, the car pulls up the 360° camera automatically! The first time I drove it, and it did that, I was very happy. It was something (to me) that would easily sell the car.

It might be really helpful to non Volvo people if the trims were explained.
Outgoing trims are Momentum, R Design & Inscription and there is a difference in exterior styling and interior features between the three.
As of model year 2023 these trim levels are simplified to Core, Plus & Ultimate (I think).

I drive a 2014 XC60 and get at least the mileage their showing on these new ‘hybrids’, in fact got around 28.5mpg on my last 1250 mile road trip. I’ll hold onto it until the industry comes out with full electrics that get at least in the mid 350 to 400 mile range with under .5 hour charge time for nearly full charge and prices come down. The Toyota BZ series coming out may be closest to that next year.

@@johngaudet6316 as ImYoutubing247 said, there are other, even larger, pickups that are more fuel efficient than this cheap Chinese poseurs SUV. If Volvo really care about the environment then they shouldn't move into electrification.
There is increasing evidence to show that EVs aren't cheaper to run or more fuel efficient. And over $60k for a 4-pot made engine? You'd have to be mad or not know anything about cars to buy this. Have you any idea the kinds of pulling power $60k will buy you??

P-RND makes perfect sense cause you could accidentally shift it from drive to reverse or vice versa (though software could be used to prevent that)
Maybe then, you don't need a shifter but, direct buttons for Drive and Reverse and Park and when vehicle is in motion in the mode of one of the buttons, the others should be disabled to prevent accidental gearbox damage.
Besides, neutral helps when the car is malfunctioning and you quickly put it in neutral while rolling, switch it off and on again to clear the error without the need for a complete stop to do those manipulations. Otherwise, you'd have to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, put it in park, then stop and start again! Complete regression IMHO
