Could you demonstrate this without a gi? I think this could work well in our Sumo wrestling too, I am guessing using a collar tie instead of lapel grab, but I'd love your thoughts on this for those of us not wearing a jacket :)

Everyone does things different but i gotta say that in my case, a collar tie has never helped a lot. I would rather use a "Whizzer grip" or underhook for the pulling motion. A collar tie just doesn't shift their stance enough for me.
Translating Gi grips has always been a bit of a hastle for me, mostly because many gi grips work very different to no gi ones, in the gi every grip can work for pulling, and elevating. You want to pull them up while wearing a gi? High collar, regular collar, sleeve, elbow, everything works for it, same for pulling them. While in no gi, if you want to elevate them, you have the Whizzer, and underhook (also double underhooks A.K.A. bear hug) can do it, but not even as effectively as gi grips. If you want to pull, you have stuff like wrist control and underhooks, you could argue that collar ties work for pulling but they have never worked for me, i suck at using collar ties for most things.

@@raincitysumo no problem comrade! I mainly get into these videos to give advice and to talk about my ideas. The subjects thst are touched on these videos are exactly what they teach in Japanese Judo (and probably from other countries, i wouldn't know) so i have heard these things quite a few times now.

Is it possible for two total beginners to be taught judo by an instructor via virtual means?
Of course in person is best but I'm wondering if any meaningful learning can occur.

This might sound harsh, but I think your cousin should take over the CZcams. You're full of knowledge, but your cousin is more handsome, so maybe show him the moves and then have him host and re-show the moves?
