An extra 1 hour+ podcast a week? Yes please :)
Geraint is clearly going to the Tour with one mission only.
Leadout for Cav.
This is the real answer
😂 …….. 🤔
He would be a very bad leadout, but perhaps he can take part in the train instead...
He did fine in Italy.
Australian here - I've found a CZcams channel called "pro cycling races" which has just been streaming the live feeds from several pro races (no commentary) completely for free. Idk how many they'll be able to do, but for free it's very nice
These weekly shows are gonna be a hit. Super interesting.
Consider making it bi-weekly, do not burn out guys! :)
Will be a voyage of Discovery this year finding out which races will be broadcast live.
I did a comparison between discovery+ and GCN+ in december last year. Checked about 100 races, from TdF to the little criteriums that GCN shows at the season end. Discovery+ had every single one of them. Exactly the same schedule. Which makes sense, because GCN+ already belonged to eurosport and they made one broadcast for both, so why not show it on both. So unless they decide to wind down cycling coverage, which they have stated no intention to do, it will fortunately be the exact same program as GCN+ was. Yes, some races, especially women's races aren't being broadcast on discovery+. Those didn't have coverage on GCN+ either. It sucks, but it's not because GCN+ is gone, it's because the organizers don't pay for live coverage.
One caveat: Some races had region restrictions on GCN+. On GCN+ you could circumvent those with a VPN. On Eurosport you can't.
Do you know how to access discovery+ from the US if I have a European relative? @@silverblue2384
I listen to the podcast version but came here just to drop a comment to say that this weekly catch-up is great !
Great to see Join sponsoring the pod. I love their services and they’ve helped me so much.
Weekly Show sounds like a great idea!
Great show, giving the topics time that other cycling shows/podcasts only touch on briefly just to have mentioned them 😃
Absolutely loving a new weekly show!!!
Shout out to the New Zealand Cycling classic hahah. Much love from NZ
This is great, I’m looking forward to this becoming a part of my following the season.
i love this new addition to the podcast! i've been an avid follower ever since the last TdF. Cheers from Israel !
1 horsepower = 745.699872 watts. Horses can actually output up to around 15 horsepower, so 745.699872 (W)x 15 / 500 (Kg) = 22.371 W/Kg. Carn Rogue Bear!
Really like this format! Big diversity of content
I liked the content, particularly the preview of the coming week's races. I actually watched on replay 94% of the races you covered today, and it is certainly an enjoyable but considerable expenditure of time, which some of your listeners may not have. So it would be good for you to let us know your race/stage of the week past, and the stage/race you are most looking forward to next week. Then we can make sure we catch up with that - ie. Was this week's best race the Colombia Nat champs? All the best for future podcast!
I really like the idea of these round-ups, so much gossip to catch up on!
This is exactly what my weeks need 🙏🏼
Great stuff!!!
Absolutely love this new format
Very nice and big thanks for a little update about the state, how to watch cycling this year.
I am still considering, how to approach this, at least your weekly recap will keep me updated ;)...
Great move guys on the weekly updates.
Was thinkin bout when will these news recaps come out you talked bout in the qna. Lovely❤
Weekly show, let’s gooooo!
Was checking my monthly subscriptions recently and decided to get rid of a few. But that $4.99 a month is staying put :) thanks for all that you do LR, Benji, and Luke.
Loved this, great idea guys, thanks 🤩
Personally, I'd also like for you to keep the weekly update of pets/race horses as well (Benji's kittens were a glaring omission boys)
Great podcast! Now I don't need any Discovery etc subscriptions.
Btw. Please make a collaboration podcast with G.
Really like this idea so far, keep it up!
Being a kiwi, the Great ocean race was both a great Triumph and a great defeat, obliviously a fantastic win for Pithie who has always shown so much potential, and I am sure will go on to have a great career, and some sadness for Corban who put it all on the line but came up empty. I can only imagine what it would have been like if young George Jackson was there. I really hope that Pithie gets a taste for the one day races and starts to mix it up in some of the Belgian classics.
Totally hooked on it! So much interesting info. Since I'm currently unable to watch all the races- MAX B/R doesn't kick in until March, I believe- this weekly show will help fill the gap. At the risk of being redundant, I miss GCN+.
The info on Nibali was kind of surprising? I'd hoped I'd heard incorrectly, but nope! Yes, it was his ego that was hurt.
Thanks, guys. Please don't burn out. We need you.
…I’m off to watch Nibali’s podcast …cheers boys👍
super happy about this
Looking thin Patrick. I've been enjoying the vlogs!
Keep in mind Corbin got sick only a week ago and obviously bad enough to pull out of the TDU while he was in a top spot, so that would have made a little difference to his form a week later
Apparently he was vey sick at end of stage 1
Yes quite sick apparently but not taking anything away from Laurence Pithie or 2nd and 3rd places, it's the best on the day, Laurence is clearly a talent and he's showing this for sure 💪, however just wanted to point out and remind Benji and Pat that even though this course probably was great for Corbin, he probably did not have the best week leading up to it and same for Luke Plapp, who rode well all considered.
Love it lads! 👌🏼
Thanks giaaz for making this content. Really looking forward to this season.
YES WEEKLY SHOW🎉
190km. Benji better get a good set of fans to help out.
Great addition to the content.
Will this show stream live? That would be so cool to watch and comment along!
LFG woooot!
Love the weekly format. BTW arrieta clipped a pedal cornering in the finale with van eetvelt. Kind of strange considering how strong he was on the descent.
Nibali ... ¡The SNARK of Messina! 🙈🦈🙊
Niceeee i was hoping you would do something like this
I'm happy to hear the cycling news, but the death of GCN+ has made it nearly impossible for American fans to actually see the races. We're stuck with the option of an expensive streaming service full of content we'll never watch or Flobike's extremely expensive rebroadcasting of other networks' content.
Hey Benji, Aussie cycling season is forgettable 😮
Come On!!!😂
Big downside to the BR add-on is as of now Max has no replays. So timing of some of the races will be tricky to watch live in the states :(
Egan Bernal got 3rd in Nacionales de Ruta.
Benji, if the studios behind PCM sponsored a stream, would you play PCM 24 prior to release?
Hi guys, is it possible to do these twice a week when more serious races are on? Obviously you guys are doing daily recaps for biggest races (Opening weekend, PN, TIrreno, Catalunya...) but for example during the weeks between the races, could you do them twice a week if there's no race you're covering?
Or for example if there's only 1 important race in the week (Sanremo week, a week before Amstel but also during the UAE Tour and now in the following weeks when most of nice riders are starting, for example Algarve..)
Mega
@Benji - Try the real hills - Toys, Chalk Pit, Vigo (as a start)
Noice!!!❤❤❤
I wonder if the new helmets that cover the ears offer better than side-protection rather than just covering the ears?
Need the Grand Prix Cycliste de Falafel la Kabob preview next week please! 🤲
I can assure Gaffuri and Vergallito are not doing this for marketing guys, Nibali was an idol for them and they were sincerly sad about the whole story
THOMAS - ARENSMAN - FOSS - NARVAEZ - GANNA - HAYTER - PUCCIO - SHEFFIELD / VIVIANI is a very solid Giro team
I've had discovery for two years now. I am pretty sure every race that was on GCN was also on discovery+ its just the cycling documentaries and that kind of stuff that wasn't.
🎉 shit yeah let's go! Also first.
First douche bag. Congrats
Tried scanning the Join barcode but it takes me to a blank page - is the offer no longer available?
You have to download the app first, after that you can scan the code and get the trial!
Jes didn't recognise u with the weight loss wow. Well done mate
Gaffuri and Vergallito's podcast is pretty cool. They both are professional trainers and they give great training suggestions.
I really don't know why they have so much hate. Also Bettiol's comments on Sqaulo TV are crazy nonsense.
Had to watch the end of the CZcams version to see benji’s reaction to 190k vs 90k 😂
Freaking hilarious
More is good 👏
I need more stimulating content to keep going until at least morning tea at work, if you could kindly extend that to lunch time it would be greatly appreciated 😜😂
Loving your work guys ✅
@benji Heard that Squalo TV reconciliation podcast and Nibali sort of apologied 😅
Listening to GT's podcast over the pst few month's I got the opposite feeling - G really wanted to go back to the Giro but the team wanted him to do the tour. Relatedly, he said specifically in his announcement that (1) the shorter than usual gap between the two races might allow him to hold his form in a way he had not in the past, and (2) he anticipated riding for C. Rodriguez or Pidcock in the tour. Did the LRCP not really listen to what he said or did they not quite believe him?
Looking forward to the weekly shows, this was nice overall.
Link to Join not working!
Have you installed the app first?
How does LR change his background like every month?
We have the broadcast on CZcams for a handful of races so far in USA. We need someone else to broadcast some kind of announcers over X or something. Eerie to listen to just ambience.
Max has most
Did he say he ate chicken nuggets at the turkish kebab place?🤣
Do not forget G is tour de france champion. G is my kloden for 2o24
now that red bull have a high stake at bora do wva and pidcock lose their helmet? could be a short topic for next week or if anyone already knows please tell me 😂

Tiz about to get a huge bump. Screw Max
For me personally, I would prefer this series to be more about other stuff than races as you cover races in other videos.
Alec Segaert won't even beat Mads Pedersen in the ITT.
Hope he’s got he’s drug program sorted out for the season
Why is Benji such a big fan of stupid Nibali?!
Because Benji is a fucking poser
I love E3 and the organisers all the more.
i don't get the issue either. ppl have no self irony anymore
@@franz009franz great piece of marketing. And absolutely on point.
Ok, this will be probably an unpopular opinion. Ive been an LR fan even before Benji. I think this weekly thing needs to be tightened up a bit. 1:20 was too long. 1 hour max. Keep the stories , keep the banter, but a little more focus might make it less daunting and a little more on task
I think you’re right - LR
Nibali, great rider but has always been a bit of a dick.
Whoever did the whack cartoon for E3 doesn't remotely know the shape of a bicycle.
Re. E3's homophobic cartoon and the culture it perpetuates: well said, Benji.
disagree completely. it's a joke. jokes are allowed even if you dont like them. even if the "butt" of the joke is a protected class in this case.
Jokes can be damaging/offensive/poor form regardless of whether they're well intentioned or not.
I'm not saying they're not "allowed", but if you know a joke is going to cause offence and you make it anyway for a cheap laugh, poor form imo. Let alone for a massively prominent organisation that could promote inclusivity, but instead derides certain groups or demean social issues to try and get a quick giggle
@@user-lw7xo6zs6n
Nope. Jokes that demean other people are not jokes but just demeaning comments. They are weak and reflect poorly on the “joke” maker, especially when the joke maker says in defense “I was just joking”
@@user-lw7xo6zs6n no one will defend you but you're 100% right, jokes are jokes, regardless of whether you find them tasteless, offensive or unfunny. Free speech is absolute or it's not free speech. End of story.
So no jokes about Irish, men, women, children, etc etc. Basically no more jokes@@jackwilliams1198
In regards to the E3 cartoon, I just found out today that there are no openly gay riders in the pro peloton, which statistically there should be. The fact that the NFL, one of the most conservative sporting organizations in the world, putting out one of the most conservative, god fearing, anti-inclusive sports in the world has had openly gay players before professional cycling has seen one come out on the men's side before retiring is just insane to me.
Lol.
you misunderstand how statistics work, top male athletes are not representative of the entire population.
@@fanda6122 care to explain how I don't understand? Clearly, pro athletes don't represent the entirety of the population in terms of physical abilities, but why or how does that equate to sexual preferences, which is genetic? We aren't comparing average VO2 max or watts per kilo, we're comparing something more equivalent to eye color. And if you think that's a poor equivalency, I would bet you'd be surprised if you found out that no one in the peloton had green eyes, despite green eyes only being had by 2 percent of the human population. 9 percent if we go to US population, which is only a few points higher than the 5.5 percent of the US population who identify as LGBT.
Clearly, the pool of pro riders is smaller than the pool of the US population, but again, we're talking essentially random samples of around 200 people throughout however many years we've seen a pro peloton and yet not one single rider has been openly gay while competing. Several have come out after the fact though, one even transitioned. So, we know for a fact that there have been gay riders, who have been afraid to be open about it.
biniam is a great sprinter. not a great black sprinter. in what way is who you choose to have sex with relevant to sport?
@@fanda6122 so we've moved the goal posts, I see. Doesn't surprise me, seeing as to how you tend to not understand the topics you're discussing.
First off, being LGTBQ isn't a choice. Secondly, I, nor has anyone said that it effects the sport at all, which again, should make you wonder why those ex-pros who we know for a fact were gay didn't feel safe coming out while they were competing, and finally, we aren't talking about if being gay or not makes someone a better athlete, we're discussing the fact that there are human beings who do not feel safe or comfortable being themselves for fear of losing their jobs. I would think that would just rile you right up, seeing as you're all about defending "free speech" apparently.
I think the biggest question about the E3 cartoon is - do they really have no better way to promote their event? With respect to the history and relevance of E3, the spring classics, and benelux core of cycling - E3 is just a chatgpt classic to me as a non-euro spectator, literally a mariokart mirror track assembled out of the same bits of Flanders or Omloop or Gent-Wevelgem and whatever else uses the same bergs and cobbles. If the only thing distinguishing this race in particular isn't the history, course, schedule, or the rosters, but that their organizers have poor taste? Easy skip.
By your logic you must skip watching Pogachar and the entire UAE team. Oh and team Bahrain because it's ILLEGAL to be gay in these countries. Probably didn't think that critically did you, you lemming.
Making fun of LGBT is wrong but jokes on Belgians are allowed. Where is the logic?
Where is their outrage about UAE and Bahrain where it's illegal to be gay?
@@MaxwellPowers666 You do not decide what jokes they make.
Sorry not sorry but the cartoon was funny, laughing with stereotypes is one of the cornerstones of comedy. We've been doing it for centuries. Suddenly excluding certain topics, ethnicities or groups of people won't benefit those topics. And why are stereotypes funny? Because deep down we know that in most cases they aren't true.
But they don't have shit to say about sponsors like UAE and Bahrain where it's literally illegal to be gay.
I do not like you covering women's cycling its really not interesting.
True, at least keep women's cycling in seperate podcasts so we can skip it.
So glad you added time stamps, so I can skip the ladies and social issue bs.
A bit of feedback on pronouncing foreign names/places: Keep respectful, and learn to pronounce them as best as you can. Take it seriously. Although they might sound unusual and sometimes seem impossible to pronounce, laughing at people's names or town names because they are tongue twisters reflects poorly on you, not them. Avoid acting like Lance Armstrong, who mocked people, made hurtful nicknames, and showed disdain due to his own shortcomings and inability to respect culture.
please dont do political opinions on your podcast. 😕
It's their podcast. They can do whatever they want. Don't listen if you don't like what they say.

@@bobbyellis5006 It is, but when being political they are risking exlucing probably 50% of their viewers. It's not smart.
