I forgot I had to prepare this song for my lesson that's in 48hrs... this vid is saving me
12:13 is where that tricky part in the music starts… if anyone was wondering!!
Amazing! Thank you! I've recently started singing Italian songs, and learning the correct pronunciation is crucially important.
I like the structure of your lesson.
And you sing beautifully!
Thank you for your kind praise, AK. :)
Se tu m'ami, se tu sospiri
Sol per me, gentil pastor
Ho dolor dei tuoi martiri
Ho diletto del tuo amor
Ma se pensi che soletto
Io ti debba riamar
Pastorello, sei soggetto
Facilmente a t'ingannar
Pastorello, sei soggetto
Facilmente a t'ingannar
Facilmente a t'ingannar
Bella rosa porporina
Oggi Silvia sceglierà
Con la scusa della spina
Doman poi la sprezzerà
Doman poi la sprezzerà
Ma degli uomini il consiglio
Io per me non seguirò
Non perché mi piace il giglio
Gli altri fiori sprezzerò
Se tu m'ami, se tu sospiri
Sol per me, gentil pastor
Ho dolor de' tuoi martiri
Ho diletto del tuo amor
Ma se pensi che soletto
Io ti debba riamar
Pastorello, sei soggetto
Facilmente a t'ingannar
Pastorello, sei soggetto
Facilmente a t'ingannar
Facilmente a t'ingannar

You are the BOMB! I used this with one of my students recently. We actually met at a gig a few months ago. I was doing a comedy opera thing at the library in Melbourne and you were doing a gig too. I love your teaching style . Your voice is BEAUTIFUL. Kudos.
I recently started taking voice lessons and my teacher wants me to sing this song at a recital in two months. Since I speak no Italian I wasn't really sure how I was going to learn it. Your video has been so incredibly helpful. Thank you for breaking it down phrase by phrase. And thank you for going over the pronunciation of the Italian words.
You're most welcome Jessica, I also make rehearsal tracks and videos at people's requests. www.ladyshaula.com to contact me. Best of luck with your upcoming performance. :)

Thank you so much for this. I sang this song years and years ago in high school for Solo and Ensamble competition. It was a lot of work but a wonderful experience learning this song. I wish this video was available at the time I was learning. You made it a smooth lesson.
Oh that's very kind. Thank you.
So helpful! Thank you for this! Using this for an audition!
Thanks Hannah, I do audition preparation sessions online as well. 😊🌻

Thank you so much for this amazing video to learn this piece.
Amic. PhilP.
You're most welcome P phil
@@LadyShaula I had my first audition in public with this piece, but I had so many things to take care to, that I performed this piece in a too technical way. I have to slide myself in the body of the narrator/singer, and let the music carry the voice to express the sense/message of this melody.
Thanks a lot for your
. . . feedback, this is an encouragement ! !
Have a nice continuation. PhilP.
@@LadyShaula I hope that you will post for the Web community of singers others pieces. I wish you the best for 2024, difficult year to come for everyone It seems ! !
Regards. PhilP.
When I get some spare time I will, PhilP. Alternatively you can contact me through my website www.ladyshaula.com to organise a specific video. :) @@Pphilcz0

Thank you for this great breakdown! The notes don't look so intimidating now.! ❤
:) Don't be scared of the black marks on the page. :)
I have to find un other peace for audition this coming spring...from 28 Italian Area songs...WHAT CAN I CHOOSE svp knowing that your video will help tremendously .Again Many thanks to you.🙏😊🌈
Your teacher will help choose a song that is correct for you. (Range, voice type, key, agility, difficulty). :D
Would you tell me which is the FIRST song and the next after this one that will be the THIRD svp ? (simple curiosity...)
I enjoyed practissing SE TU M'AMI with your smile and application on Italian spoken language. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Hi, it depends very much on your voice type and standard. Your teacher will be able to advise you of this. :)
@@LadyShaula please give us some advise for next aria to learn.
You are so good teacher and solovely. Thank You.
Тональность соль? Что-ли?
Could you please show into writing the words so we can follow! Im starting to listen carefully, listening to your right pronunciation, its not easy, its April 6, 24 around 2:00 pm
This's not Pergolezi, but Parizotti.
Yes, somebody set me straight about that below in the comments. :)
Wow, I wish that I had had you as a voice teacher when I was learning this song since my first voice teacher, well......she tried, and more often than not caused me more harm than good. (She was one of those teachers blessed with a beautiful voice, but didn't know how to teach vocalists, aside from being a fellow student in this music program.). My following voice teacher was freaking amazing! Anyhow, I've already learned way more about properly pronouncing the text than I had when I first learned this song from my voice teacher. But unlearning some diction habits will be tough! THANK YOU! Also, you're right--it IS heart-breaking that the song writer died so young.
Thank you!!!!
