Being and insect guru, I know that some insects and things like scorpions cannot climb up some smooth plastic or glass, so you might want to keep that in mind. Those styrofoam cups are a much better way to go, earwigs and other insect or arachnids won’t have any problem climbing them. I had some of the most lethal scorpions in the world and earwigs are very similar in their design - by God, of course. 😊

Windex kills them too. Otherwise they sell traps on Amazon I got the Dekko silverfish traps haven't used it though.

Try placing a lid on the container.
Try and block it with something else like small pots around it.
Make a grid with tape on the top or cover with plastic wrap and a rubber band and then poke holes
