I got my braces tightened today for the first time and my teeth have been fine all day I've had no pain.
Edit:I got mine tightened at 10:40am and it's now 4:17pm and I've had no pain whatsoever.
Yay! You might've felt it the day after haha. I'm getting mine off November 20th and I am so freaking excitedddd!!!

I got my braces a year ago and still need more time with them. 😭 But I have gotten used to them to the point where having them on my teeth is jus my normal teeth! But one thing I CANNOT get used to is when they tighten them... it's the absolute worse! Good luck to anyone that is getting braces and don't worry about it too much, they aren't that bad. 😊

So glad I could help, and I hope your braces are going well!! My teeth were quite white before I got braces so I've just tried to maintain it by brushing my teeth really well and making sure they're really clean :) Love you more xx

Heres some tips:
Dont eat ice cream magnum ice cream
If you want relieve the pain.
Eat slushy drink cold water and eat medicine. Drink water :)
You will not gonna feel anything.
In night time u will be in hell.
U cant sleep lmao
Brush your teeth well.
CAUTION: brush your teeth well if u dont u will have white mark when u get your braces off.

Ngl they do hurt, but if you take pain killers, eat soft food and drink cold glasses of iced water it really helps ease the pain :)

Hey Emma! just wanted to start of by saying i really appreciate you making these braces update videos daily as they are really handy and informative on what to expect if planning to get braces which is what i am doing. I just wanted to ask a few questions. Firstly did you want to get braces or was it something that your dentist reccomended if it was something you wanted did you have to book an appointment with your dentist and explain to them your reasons for this... what was the procedure? Secondly, how long did the whole process take, from the very first appointment with your dentist all the way to you getting your braces. Lastly did you have to pay for the top clear braces or do you get pick them when choosing what kind of braces you want, if so how much are they? I'm so glad I could help :) I've wanted braces ever since I was about 14 and prior to now (being 18), I was turned away twice. I had an appointment with my dentist and I told him I wanted braces and he gave me a referral to an orthodontics. I had to wait about 4 months for my appointment with the orthodontics and then at the appointment he took xrays of my teeth and FINALLY said I could have braces. He said I could start straight away and so I booked an appointment for the following week and that's when my braces journey began! I had to pay $700 extra to get clear top braces, but every ortho is different :)
I was born in the UK but I live in Australia now so my accent is a weird mix hahahaha xx

I may have an appointment this week at the dentist telling them i want braces and from there i am guessing i am going to have wait for quite a while. i will love to keep you update if you don't mind. And with the clear braces i think i might just go for the normal coloured braces if i will have to pay for the clear ones. And i see, i live in the UK that's why haha x

I've had such a journey just to get my braces on... had to have four teeth and jaw surgery just to get them on... now they're on and I have about a year and a half left :/ Love them though and love your videos, thank you!! ps hugs from scotland UK xxx

Sorry you had so much discomfort :( I had my first tightening last Thursday and it hurt at the time but settled down fairly quickly. I don't have another appointment now for 6 weeks :)

I just got braces last thursday, my mouth was very painfuø for about 3 days and today i can finally touch my front teeth together without horrible pain. Sounds like tightening is going to suck!

It's gonna SUCK when you get your bands for the first time. It really hurts because it's pulling your teeth down more but you'll get use to it so it doesn't bother you and it's so worth it in the end !
Day 2 and i can't even touch my teeth with my tongue :( and i can't even eat properly. Does it gets better?

OMg good luck!! Wear lip balm to your appointment when you get them on bc your lips get so dry, drink lots of cold water to help with the pain, eat lots of soft food for the first few days bc your teeth will be rlly sensitive and use the wax stuff as soon as your braces start rubbing on your gums otherwise they'll cut up your gums and it will be rlly sore. Mary Miry that's so cute that made my night aww! The metal molar bands don't really hurt but when they put them in they kinda force them in which hurts a little. I used wax for the first few weeks and it helped so much, your ortho should give you some for free when you get your braces :) Thank you for watching my videos xxx

Hi!! You're so pretty! I'm getting braces on April 10th and I either have a choice to get ceramic or Damon, if I get Damon I can't get colours and I reaallly want them with colours. If I get coloured elastics on ceramic like blue, do you know if it would stain them? Ps i love your videos!!💓
Blue actually looks super cute with ceramic, so I say go for it! :) They won't stain, the only colour that will have noticeable staining is clear elastics xx

I've gotten my braces tightened once ,and it hurts so bad . Does it pain little less the second time or it's the same .
For me mine hurt more the second time, but everyone is different. I've heard a lot of people say the first time hurts the most x

I don't have bands on my braces bc I have damon ones sorry that I can't help :( I would go with clear though! :)
Emma I don't think clear is a good choice. Food gets stuck in your teeth and it makes the braces look bad.
Yeah I heard about that too! Apparently silver is the best choice bc it blends in with the metal wire and it also makes your teeth look whiter but idk bc I haven't had bands so I can't really say :)

When I got my braces on a week ago, I felt no pain whatsoever just a little bit of discomfort and when I ate everything would get stuck in them. I'm scared to get them tightened in 3 weeks and start feeling pain
I feel you! But don't worry about it, although it hurts, getting your braces tightened is the reason your teeth become straighter each time so just think of the end result :)

believe me tightening braces is NOTHING. last time my dentist was taking off.. i don't know what is it called on english, but anyways basically he sticks this very powerful and weird kind of washy tape (idk how to call it) and then roughly take it off and he did it like 30 times and he made a small gap between my teeth because there was no space and let me tell you.. it hurts like a bitch my teeth were sour for 10 days and i couldn't even brush my teeth because it was so painfull it is 100 times worse than tightening
