Getting injured whilst running is one of the most frustrating things possible! Running is a lot more than just exercise for many people and when you're injured that all grinds to a halt. I may have the secret sauce however for running and training without the risk of injury.

This makes perfect sense. I was never injured in my younger years and I was running hills nearly everyday

Thanks for this Bob! I literally just got back doing from my weekly 12 x hill reps. I haven't tried regular hill sprints yet. I'll see if I can incorporate this into my training 👍

Great channel and great advice. I think people need to build both the repetitions AND the speed. I trained only hills 2 or 3 years. I had massive legs and felt invincible. Longest stretch without an injury. Yet, I injured my back eventually. So, yeah, as he said, you CAN get injured this way, proceed slowly.

Thanks Martin! Yes, as with anything to avoid injury a gradual build in both intensity and volume is the best approach.

It does not have to be hill sprints.
Running on hilly terrain, even rolling hills, are good enough to keep the muscles, tendons and ligaments active and adapting.
What makes you weaker is running easy on flat surfaces/roads too often when the muscles do not have to work too hard.
    Also, nutrition is crucial.
People neglect getting the right nutrients in to help the body recover. Plenty of protein, minerals/electrolytes are crucial, especially when you are getting older. Besides a solid training routine, nutrition is vital for longterm health when exercising.

I just get Budgie to rub me down on checkpoints.
