It makes me really happy that Frances finally got to have what she deserves. Kurt would've wanted her to have all of his money and belongings, Courtney may still have alot of his guitars and iconic clothing but I doubt he'd give a shit as long as his daughter is taken care of. Me too. Just imagine if we could've gotten more material from those guys if things hadn't gone the way they did. Kurt and Courtney bonded chemically. Sure they had a lot in common with music, bands etc, but drugs were the main factor.They even liked the same brand of codeine cough syrup. Like you said, if he had just gotten a divorce, stuck to rehab and healed...who knows where the band would've gone. I was late getting into Nirvana, but they are one of my all-time favorite bands growing up as a teenager, and I still love them!

Oh my goodness....Iggy is right...i never thought of it that way. When i was 13 or 14 i never understood economics and how things work. I started working and earning and started getting a idea how this works. What Iggy said is a frightening truth about how people can rely on your success for their own paycheck and livelihood. That's a huge amount of pressure for someone who is already tense with anxiety. Jeeez...going to be thinking about this one for a little bit.
Nirvana wasn't just Curt... Dave and Krist put their own blood, sweat and tears into the success of Nirvana and therefore deserve any royalties or profits from their collective work as Nirvana. Courtney has no claim to Dave's and/or Krist shares of Nirvana's success.. she does have claim to Curt's share but that's about it. Dave and Krist have been more than generous in honoring Curt's memory by giving away part of their shares in hopes that it would go to Curt's daughter's future... and yet Courtney still wants more... truly irresponsible of her to throw it all away in drugs and who know what else.
The issue is that Kurt write the songs, so he ended up with a much bigger cut including the publishing as well as royalties
@@violetscreaming It doesn't matter if he wrote the lyrics to the songs, he didn't write the bass lines and or drum tracks which are just as crucial for a song to be whole...as much as he was talented he wouldn't be able to perform the songs playing drums, bass and guitar at the same time.. Curt on his own was not Nirvana and that's a fact.

Tony Hawk, by all accounts made a great father, his son is a great skater in his own rights and doesn't seem to be hung up in his father's shadow. All in all I think he will make a great partner for Frances and will be a stabilising figure in her life that she has been missing, due to her mother being out of her mind. Also coming from great wealth there is no motivation for money and unlike her last husband who wanted to be Kurt Cobain and even claimed he was the reincarnation of Kurt Cobain! I wish them many many happy years together. I was a huge Nirvana fan, and grew up skating and into punk, I always thought Tony Hawk had a really positive effect on skateboarding in general. No one would even know who Courtney Love is if it weren't for Kurt Cobain.
Hole were bigger than Nirvana when they met. Cobain was desperate for some kind of punk cred and he was in the process of jumping to a large record company to try and become the biggest band in the world and Courtney had it at the time. Various artists have stated that Courtney Love was a massive influence on them, she and her band's work. His suicide kicked her career right off course from where it could have been.
