I think a basass 5” exhaust would be killer instead of drilling a big hole into that nice hood I do agree a hood stack would be cool but there messy AF especially on a white truck

Strip the old parts and use duplicolor engine enamel a ton of coat or go expensive and get it powder coated.. DIY is definitely the way tho

Swap out the stock manifold for a unit that flows better and that is cerekoted. Dps is best bang for buck.
For injector lines, simply take some 150 grit and strip the paint, then go to 300 grit, then hand polish with paper towel, wipe it clean real well, then clear coat.

Send it to jet hot coatings. It’s ceramic coating and it helps with keeping down heat. I love the truck I’m redoing a 4wd frame to convert my 2g.

I like the Beef Jerky pro tip💪 Im gonna try that so I don't go Broke loving Diesel trucks and Gas station Beef jerky . My mouth just starts watering sometimes while standing in line and that $20 Bag of jerky Hurts for 3 bites.. Chewing on a small piece longer so you get your money's worth helps sometimes 😂...and CZcams Definitely punishs Diesel lovers or if you speak to much truth I feel .. Wipe the rubber and -lactic down in your engine bay then hut urn with some Amsoil Mudslinger. You won’t regret it.

I looked at the Ryan’s diesel service turbo for my truck. I can’t decide on no limit compound turbo or a single turbo.

I liked it but don't want a hood stack. I say if you are going to do anything other then out the back go out the passanger fender so it isn't in the window. Also i agree with you I had to check in on your channel to find this. :-(

I would no do a hood stack. Id do the dual shotguns in the bed. Only bad thing is, they drone bad. I had 2 10s in the corners of my bed in my 6.0 and it was bad lol. My buddy has the twin to the truck you're working on, and with a single 8in in the bed, you had to yell at each other to talk with the windows up. No matter what way you go, it's gonna be loud as hell. Only benefit to bed stacks compared to hood is less of a mess on the cab.

Start things right and give the entire under hood a hotsie bath before even attempting to do an ‘aerosol overhaul’. And Black is the best color to use so you can’t see all the oil

I would of done the entire shebang, started with a 3 piece manifold and tossed that stock peice of junk with the hy35 in the dumpster unless you know some highschool kids that wanna use it on their civic hatchback lol. But in the trash is where that hy belongs.
Certainly don’t do what the young kids do and go spray painting any of the brackets or parts that easily come off to try and dress it up. You painted them valve covers black but used the old rusty bolts to put them back on!!!! Haha. If your gunna go all out and powder coat everything and go all in then that’s the only way to do it, don’t half a$$ things. Lol ‘aerosol overhaul’, use some ‘Mexican chrome’ in a can! Hahaha.
It’s a 25 year old truck, it’s dirty dusty and greasy, you ain’t gunna get paint to stick if you don’t start with a hotsie bath and degreaser, dawn dish detergent and wipe everything down with denatured alcohol first.
I didn’t see you prime the new turbo with fresh oil before attaching the oil feed line, so that means you dry started and spun it with no oil on first start up before oil pressure got there. *tsk tsk* basic amateur mistake. Prolly didn’t retorque after first heat cycle. I’m only half way thru the vid…
Throw that old factory exhaust manifold in the trash and get a three piece. Usually they don’t get painted cssue they get to hot. The best thing would be to jet hot ceramic coatings. It’s the only thing that will last. High temp spray paint ain’t worth even trying.
With a new manifold you’ll have egr probe ports pre drilled ready to go. Someday that old stock manifold will crack. 3 piece manifolds give it room expand and contract. They aren’t that expensive, an extra $150 bucks if that. That’s why I’m suprised you didn’t do that at the same time as the turbo. Now you get to do it twice I guess. Again, amateur mistakes….
