what I like about safi'jiiva: the star-patterned wings it's like he's saying "you know those stars you've been praying to, hunters? I AM THAT STAR, SO BETTER PRAY HARDER"
If the Tale of the Five is to be believed and some theories are true, Safi'jiiva is not straddling for a line in between, he's actually trying to retain his former whole self which would surpass even Black Dragons. If you're interested in an explanation: Safi'jiiva, Xeno'jiiva, or whatever you wish to call the entity, is likely a being whose life is not bound to flesh, but can convert ED bioenergy to generate it's body. More over, the Jiiva (which I believe to no coincidence, means "Soul") is actually the Chief of The Five himself, the dragon who in the legend "Became the Sapphire Star", which is likely a poetic description of him disintegrating into pure Bioenergy en masse to fertilize the mortal world with powerful lifeforms that would become the Elder Dragons; the oldest and most powerful of the Elder Dragons retain the ability to reproduce/regenerate a new life from their bio mass, but to a more limited degree. Xeno'jiiva and Safi'jiiva are physical manifestation of this soul who is likely trying to retain its full physical form and power; it began by accelerating the Elder Crossing, creating chaos that result in the death of many powerful Elder Dragons in New World, providing enough Bioenergy to build a powerful vessel that is the Red Dragon, which the Jiiva will use to physically boost the effort more directly. How powerful the Jiiva can be and what his end goal was is to anyone's guess, but I think drawing Alatreon's arrival in the New World was of no coincidence.
I would say that safi isn't fully grown yet because who knows how old it can get to. The version we fought was like an elder dragon that could attract black dragons because of it's immense energy use. If it was older and stronger than maybe it would become a black dragon.

8:13 " *that which is the king of all things, the perfect being.* " Translated from the fictional language of Monster Hunter. Source : Monster Hunter Orchestra 2020
For those curious, according to subs in the official MH concert that aired recently, the lyrics for the proof of a hero rendition at the end of the medley roughly translate from the in-game world language to "That which is the king of all things, the perfect being".
And so far in world, the known Black Dragons doesn't obey the Safi'jiiva. Despite being called as the emperor of elder dragons. Alatreon is likely to come to Secluded Valley because it find a place for itself to be away from Fatalis rampage because it doesn't want to deal with it. The Alatreon we fought before Fatalis really implies that. While Fatalis itself doesn't know the existence of Safi'jiiva at all, it is likely that the re-emergence of Fatalis caused the elder crossing to be more frequent than in the past times. So while Xeno'jiiva attracted them to the New World, they were also ran from Fatalis. As described that many monsters including elder dragons are dissapearing during Fatalis' wake.

It’s one thing for an elder dragon of immense power to have a theme where people are chanting lyrics to the theme. It’s an entirely different thing when the monster focusing its fury at you causes you to hear your heartbeat, intense bass, distorted screeching, and an air raid siren. Not to mention being able to halt the background music with its most powerful attack.
"When the crimson dragon ascend I hear nothing but the beat of my heart, see nothing but the sapphire star, feel nothing but fear and shock. I stand there paralyzed by it's beauty and realize in that moment, we are hunting a legend. - my friend after get wiped by the super attack.
Hello, so a rather fresh lore bits (or chunk) about the ost: The 2020 MH Orchestra confirmed that the lyrics sung during the "Proof of Hero" part of the track is sung in MH language that translates to the following: "That which is the king of all things, the perfect being" So that tune that has been with us since 2004 with no voice to it? It was a music to accompany praise for Safi'jiiva. The tune that seemingly cheers us during our toughest fights and sweetest victories, was a gospel of the Emperor, chief of the Five, the supposed architect of mortal life whose moniker, "Sapphire Star", we recently took for ourselves to inspire hope.
I love how the theme is basically just a more developed and intense version of Xeno's theme. Right from the beginning we can hear it, and at various points there are small sections that call back to identical sounds from Xeno's theme, like at 1:02.
"From the sparkling blue king came the red devil, emperor to all. From his crimson maw comes pure energy, unbridled yet concise, smashing all but the sturdiest asunder. "Deviously cunning, and unexpectedly hostile, Safi'jiiva is the result of the otherworldly Xeno'jiiva shedding it's baby weight, and amassing strength. Huge in stature, Safi'jiiva boasts more then raw strength. It's ability to manipulate, and subsequently drain, the residual energies spread like lifeblood by the earth through the Everstream mean it doesn't focus on any one elemental capability. Rather, it condenses said bioenergy and uses it to fire high-intensity beams of raw power, searing the earth. It has been observed draining it's nest of amassed energies to repair it's incredibly dense hide, and sustain it's ire. "Safi'jiiva intelligence is second to none. From its first sighting it immediately recognized Hunters as a large threat, meaning it has knowledge of our existence despite never before encountering us. It prepares for fights before on the sight of Wingdrakes alone. However Safi'jiiva obtained this aggression is unknown, but it's anger is enough to make even the strongest crumble. Hunters report that when the beast hones in on them, that all sound seems to drain, replaced only by the pounding of your own heart, ready to burst at a moment's notice. "At the climax of battle, Safi'jiiva unleashes it true, terrifying power. Taking to the skies, it coats it's nest in a wispy blue flame, before concentrating a massive amount of energy into a condensed ball, known as the Sapphire Star of the Emperor. This "star" slowly descends, and on impact with the floor, explodes in such a concentration of energy, that any biological being caught in the blast is instantly vaporized, or left in critical condition. Hunters have reported using rocks to avoid said "star", if only just. "Safi'jiiva's armor is an enigma. Under its influence, elemental effects are strengthened significantly, and Hunter focus skyrockets, allowing for blows that can almost always strike critical weakpoints, but with one averse effect. On a weapon swing (or the firing of a projectile), small needles will stab the Hunter, strengthening their swing but, if used enough, will bleed the Hunter dry. Even so, many report that even after many attacks, little damage has actually been incurred. By means unknown, the armor saps bioenergy from its prey, to heal the Hunter after subsequent attacks, thus keeping them in the fight. Furthur investigations required. "Allow me to be frank. This is no normal dragon we're dealing with. Safi'jiiva is a beast of unparalleled intellect, power, and hatred. I believe, if given the opportunity, this monster would rival even those the Guild keeps secret - Those forbidden three who shake this very world to its core. We must eliminate this beast before it joins their ranks, and all our world is devoid of life, drained by the gluttonous Red Emperor."

One of the users was named Safi jiiva and specifically said something along the lines of "If she's 14 I'm 14 too"
To think that now it HAS BEEN Confirmed, that safi is a actually a contradicting equal to fatalis(red to black dragon),similar or at least the closest in power levels to fatalis out of all the monsters the series had to offer is incredible
The first time my friends and me was fighting Safi'jiiva and the choir set in and sung to the melody of "Proof of a hero" the whole Discord gone wild and we cheered us into our victory, this soundtrack is so awesome.
While White Fatalis Frontiers theme gives off a “you’ve already lost” and “there’s no hope vibe,” Safi’jiiva’s kind of gives off an “you’re savior has arrived” and “there’s always hope” kind of vibe. Those two are polar opposites, but makes the idea of them being rivals make more sense than before.
Good lord the Ire theme is unsettling... I want to say either its Safi's heartbeat, or the Hunter's heartbeat. I can imagine that it's Safi's heartbeat, his absolute and undivided hatred for the one that earned his enmity is strong enough that the soon-to-be victim can just hear his drum-like heartbeat from afar. Something that the hunter can just tell that each heartbeat drives the beast's hatred, each heartbeat driving it to ignore everything else and focus all it's willpower into killing that which it hates. I can also imagine that it's the hunter's heartbeat. The moment they see Safi's behaviors and facial expressions, the moment they have a grave realization: "This is no longer just a fight for the ecosystem, this is a fight for my life as well. The dragon is pissed... no, beyond pissed at what ive done to it. It is stopping at NOTHING to try and kill me, it seems that is the only thing that can make it happy again, is my death. It is ignoring my friends who are actively wounding it, which requires immense willpower and resolve... The only way I will make it out of this alive is if I fight back with equal resolve!"
Why not both? Hearing each others heartbeat is a sign of affection, but with Safi'Jiiva's case, it is a more sinister affection, the affection to do harm, an affection to put all hatred in one person in masochistic desires. Safi is basically saying, "you hurt me the most, LET ME HURT YOU MORE..."
There is a very interesting theory about this monster: Xeno'Jiva is actually an alien organism arrived on the new world by a meteor (if you look at the map you can see there is a giant hole formation in the north of the continent). The organism starts to replicate the aspect of the animals of the region, this is why Xeno'jiva looks like an alien dragon but Safi looks like a classic dragon, and that's why Nergigante is hunting Xeno, because that baby is an anomaly in this world.
No...nergigante is drawn to xeno because nergigante go after monsters with mass amounts of bio energy thus why he kept coming after zorah magdaros because they were full of it plus nergigante needs tons of bio energy because they reproduce from their spikes which takes loads of energy to do
Did you actually see a new born reptile, they have no scales and have transparent skin. Since dragons can be considered as Reptile, it makes sense that Xeno doesnt have any scales and have a transparent skin.
Not even Level 8 Earplugs can block out that Bass when Safi starts to target you…. Also is it only me, but do I get classic Showa Era Godzilla vibes from this? Epic Theme 11/10
@@NeocrimsonX I sincerely hope that Safi'jiiva turns out to be a Black Dragon, as he fits the bill in every way. As usually Black Dragons fall under two categories. However Safi'jiiva seems to fall into both of those categories. So, time will tell I guess.
@Voku The issue with older Monster Hunter OSTs is that they're more repetitive in a sense, given they were on lesser hardware and didn't really allow for complex compositions all that often, not that they're bad however, far from it, but World really updated the themes in a much more cinematic and thrilling way. The entirety of World AND Iceborne was to herald the birth of a new First Class, and an extremely significant one at that. There's no way in hell we're not seeing him return in some way for future titles.

everybody gangsta till xeno grows up and straddles the line between elder dragon and black dragon
Between? This guy is literally titled "The perfect being"! It straight tops them all!
I would say that safi isn't fully grown yet because who knows how old it can get to.

Wow.

"You little cockroaches."

Hello, so a rather fresh lore bits (or chunk) about the ost:
The 2020 MH Orchestra confirmed that the lyrics sung during the "Proof of Hero" part of the track is sung in MH language that translates to the following:
"That which is the king of all things, the perfect being"
So that tune that has been with us since 2004 with no voice to it? It was a music to accompany praise for Safi'jiiva. The tune that seemingly cheers us during our toughest fights and sweetest victories, was a gospel of the Emperor, chief of the Five, the supposed architect of mortal life whose moniker, "Sapphire Star", we recently took for ourselves to inspire hope.
I have never played any of the monster hunter games, but that part beginning at 7:57 made me cry. Such perfect harmony and heroistic feeling.

Safi didnt beat the allegations chat
Please explain this, I can't find an explanation anywhere
@@KogasaTatara514In the midst of the MrBeast allegations, some of the leaked discord messages included someone whose username was literally Safi’jiiva

The moment they see Safi's behaviors and facial expressions, the moment they have a grave realization:
"This is no longer just a fight for the ecosystem, this is a fight for my life as well.
It's simply too steady to be the hunter's, given how terrified they must be. It's definitely Safi'jiiva's heart beating steadily for you
imagine being a db user and getting his ire because you hit its head ONCE
I'd say safi mostly cuz when it's aiming after you it's gonna be close and also prob grab you when ur off guard
There is a very interesting theory about this monster:
Xeno'Jiva is actually an alien organism arrived on the new world by a meteor (if you look at the map you can see there is a giant hole formation in the north of the continent). The organism starts to replicate the aspect of the animals of the region, this is why Xeno'jiva looks like an alien dragon but Safi looks like a classic dragon, and that's why Nergigante is hunting Xeno, because that baby is an anomaly in this world.
**Anomaly detected, expurgation enabled**
Heh Xeno'J.E.N.O.V.A.
This is why we can’t have nice things!
it just becomes heresy!
Since dragons can be considered as Reptile, it makes sense that Xeno doesnt have any scales and have a transparent skin.

ok, well, sorry for interupting :)
When I first flew my wingdrake in to fight this guy and I heard that choir, I knew I was up against something a cut above other monsters.
This is by far the best Soundtrack for a Boss ive ever had the pleasure to listen to.
The Goosebumps just arent going away, youre better getting used to it
8:36 I feel like this part is under appreciated, the violin is amazing and the vocals are just god like
Played this to my pet iguana he's now a elder dragon
That's some serious Sith sorcery.
@@theInsaneCashew the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some would consider unnatural
Your name is uncle Iroh, your profile picture is Darth Vader, and you play Monster Hunter. A man of culture, I see.

He became kulve taroth
You're not wrong about summoning the Demon part. This is the Demon.
LivingShadow 35 this just in about a hundred what appears to be a red dragon have popped up around the world in other words WE'RE FUCKED!!
It's just a simple gentle sailor demon
As the party's lance main, it's weird NOT hearing the heartbeat
I love this siege so much. Unlike the kulve taroth siege, it's easily repeatable and actually fun. Capcom did an amazing job with the whole character and atmosphere of Safi'Jiiva itself. The music really brings it all together though. In every game I've played with the sound similar to a heartbeat... you really feel the intensity and urgency of the battle. The music that plays when you're marked felt like if Grandma (Destruction) from the NieR Automata soundtrack had something evil and sinister to it. I can't wait for the siege to come back simply because it's so fun to do. Also because I'm out of dracolites.
This game really seemed like laying the groundwork for MH future overall. Trying new things tweak when necessary. I like Rise but World seems like the best approach to new console games
i remember this had 100k and was sad that this got little recognition now it has 1.5 million??? :))))))
Does Safi'jiiva's theme remind anyone else of Duel of the Fates from Star Wars the Phantom Menace? Especially the chorus parts.
Man, that transition from 6:20 to the next song is... *Chef's Kiss*
I was perusing the wiki recently, and I saw Safi is now designated as a Dangerous First-Class Monster! They in the Black Dragon club now baybeeeeeeeeee
I'm very happy about this, I always thought it was powerful enough to be one, but they never counted it as one
That's correct! You probably know by now, but he's also Fatalis' counterpart. Thematically this fits marvelously, since everything Safi does and is embodies the total opposite of Fatalis. The entirety of World AND Iceborne was to herald the birth of a new First Class, and an extremely significant one at that.
There's no way in hell we're not seeing him return in some way for future titles.
Both Alatreon and Fatalis appear in Iceborne because they finally found a rival in the Red Dragon. Now I want to see turf wars for them
I live the call and response at 8:20. Call and response is so cathartic when used well. I dont hear it enough in music
Arguably one of the best fights in monster hunter world with Some of the best music I ever heard
I love this monster it’s the best siege fight imo
yep, not too hard and not too easy.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
The Desolation of Safi'jiiva Extended Edition :P
Ever since the Kulve Taroth, I've been looking to your channel. My decision is set: SUB
i didn't know safi have target theme this really gives me goosebumps just by listen to it.MHW really stepped up their game.
You know shit's about to go down when you hear chants in the OST.
"It contains people chanting weird words"
How is "Gentle simple sailor" weird?

The target theme is terrifying, and I LOVE IT!
Hey, can I just say that you do an incredible job in every video you do and you do a fantastic job of merging themes into one medley. One request that I have is a nergigante and arch-tempered nergigante theme medley I think that would be incredible
2:55 I remember back when I first fought Safi and he targeted my teammate so I was like:
"Don't worry bro,I gotch'u"
*and then I flinched shot him in the head*
But then this theme starts playing and I got literal anxiety
Can't wait till someone uploads the Final Phase Emnity theme

The fear of death digs its roots deep when his majesty's gaze meets your own.
The even more terrifying thing about being targeted by Safi'Jiva is that it's eyes turn red meaning It's red with rage and you are on the receiving end of that rage.
Safi'jiiva is many things, but a simple, gentle sailor is *NOT* one of them.
The fact that two of the strongest monsters woke up in response to this things mere presence is terrifying
One moment of silence to respect that beautiful introduction.
8:01 this part will ever gives me chills
Keeping the ugly's attention the entire phase 2 and 3 with but a humble lightbreak axe surrounded by fatalis weapons including another switch axe is to date my greates accomplishment
0:06 amazing intro
Im still staying in Gen 1-3... this theme makes me breath hard and gasping for air.... im scared.. im still going to play frontier anf gen 4 up... until to this point.. and im very much scared
Exhausted horses are on fire while Safi is laying on another Legiana
God, if monsties where included in the mainline games, I want a fight against the safi to demonstrate just how powerful and unbreakable a bond between a hunter and monster can be, especially if a monstie ended up being an elder dragon itself
In the final phase theme it goes all out proof of a hero for a second
6:24
Me with a switch axe exploding its face: WITNESS ME!!!!!
I love Safi so much. We see him go from being this already terrifyingly powerful elder dragon, to this world endingly powerful black dragon. Like a butterfly, he molted his weak flesh, and now boasts his blood red hide that he's been hiding this whole time. Like the veil's been lifted, and now it's been revealed that he's secretly a badass.
This brings to mind of something that MH did that not alot of RPG do: *create their own language*
I always love that. It breathes life to a game & I wish they do it more often.
what about Xeno's and Safi's themes one after the other?
