I love how your relationship has progressed, but also how your relationship with each other's families has progressed despite initial challenges. Its beautiful and it shows how powerful love truly is.

Fabulous. I'm old enough to be your mother. I did not have this support and felt such unhappiness trying to live how others wanted me too. Please tell both sets of parents that their love for you makes me so happy. Love like yours, like your families, helps those of us that didn't have it. It gives everyone hope. Thanks for sharing. prince Edward island is a beautiful place to get married. Canada is a very accepting place for gay couples. my son and his husband had a beautiful wedding and now they have adopted two beautiful little boys

Both of your families have come a LONG WAY to accept you. For anyone who is being rejected by family for being LGBTQ, take heart. It can and does get better.
Way to go parents! I'm so proud of them. What a journey they have been on! I fully support gay marriage and yet I know in this culture that if one of my kids was gay, it might have still been hard to tell the neighbors knowing (or assuming) the reaction I would get. Love wins!

Asking the parents...that had to have been nerve wracking. Markale's mom answering "yes" right away and her dad's answer was too perfect. The tone of their voice said it all. So did the tone of your parents voices. I believe both families have come a long way in twelve years. I'm very happy that things have come full circle for both families.
