It really depends on how you hunt. If your planning being out all day in the big woods we use the Sitka Tool bucket . It will store everything you could possibly need for packing miles in for an all day hunt . It has 1900 cu inches of space . My predator platform fits easily in the front pocket . My rope , Throwline cube , water , cut saw . Knee pads plus a few more miscellaneous items easily stow behind in the main compartment. I can even fit my saddle in there if needed . I normally pack my outer wear on the outside with the compression straps. . I would say my full pack weight is around 20 to 25 lbs depending how far back I’m going . The empty weight is 3.5lbs. If I was doing a quick hunt say 100yds in or less. I would opt for a pack 1/2 the size . I bring my Sitka pack with me even when I’m scouting . It easily holds a 1000ft Spool of para cord for setting loops . Plus food and water if we’re setting up a new property
