Remember what Bobby said "when it happens I bet you don't even hear it right?" And when Gerry got hit sitting next to Sil, it went silent and Sil didn't even realize what happened until blood hit his face. We kept seeing Tony's point of view as people we're walking into the diner, everytime the bell rang Tony looked up and we see through his eyes. He looks up one last time to see his daughter and we see his point of view, complete darkness or death. The members only jacket the mysterious man was wearing is a big hint as well tht he was a wise guy.
Yup 👍🏽 I thought the same, when he sees meadow for the last time the guy that was in the bathroom shot him in the head, and the silence is what “bacala” said..that mysterious guy was an Italian and probably an assassin from phill
Every time Tony looks up, the camera changes to the door. Indicating that camera view is his perspective. The last time he looks up, it doesn’t show the door. It shows blackness. Void. Dark. He got popped. He didn’t hear it coming.

Honestly, getting clipped like that with Tony's final memory being seeing his daughter is the perfect way for him to go. Just look at Sil, Pussy, Bobby, uncle Junior, Johnny Sak, and how they went out. It was a blessing in disguise. Given how any of the other major characters went, it is extremely unlikely Tony survived.
@brunopereiraikercasillas6265 never confirmed that Tony died. All Chase said was that he planned Tony to get whacked in a meeting in NY but stuff gets re written all the time. Tony's mom for example prob woulda been in the show longer but the actress passed away unfortunately.
I believe Tony died either way. Wether or not he was shot dead in front of his family , or if he lived and went to jail ect. One thing that season 6 made me realize about Tony is that his character was done evolving. He was a mob boss, a wise guy at heart. Turned away by his therapist , resented by people who’ve felt hurt by him, accepted by his wife and children the father he was.
Yeah the problem is that all us fans wanted the show to keep going so we came up with all these theories as to who ordered the hit on Tony and so on. It didn't really matter because the show was over anyway. So the only question is did Tony get whacked or did we get whacked?
An assassin entered the diner, Tony was killed. Meadow took shrapnel in one eye. She lived (with an eye patch) and became the Attorney General for NJ. Carm seized control of OC. Built a fortified palace. AJ went nuts on money, drugs, and power. Furio came back and helped cement it all. I have another 10 seasons written. I've reached out. They all ignore me. "Fan-fiction" has destroyed smart writers... Ah, well...
What happened to Tony depends on what you want to do to him. If you want him to suffer for his crimes, then he had a blackout, woke up, and continued with his hell of a life, with the gang war and the criminal prosecution and more scary blackouts and at the end Alzheimer's like his uncle. But if you want to be nice to Tony, then he got snuffed out like a candle.
I think the blackouts had symptoms before they happened. This darkness was very sudden like one second and no warning. So Its Tonys death scene. + he died very fast( got shot in the head)
What about his family. Who've suffered tremendously. Carmen, his son attempting suicide. And now Meadow who watched it happen. It's why at the beginning of shows the camera looking at Tony from the door. That's Meadow view.
I can't understand the confusion about the ending. I mean first of all, take what you want from it but it seemed to me to be pretty straightforward that Tony got killed. All of the clues were littered throughout the season, especially the bells! But also, for those who want to know what happened to Tony's wife and children, that too was explained pretty thoroughly throughout the last season when Tony's out of action in hospital after Uncle Junior shot him. The family basically descends into chaos. I'm remembering in particular, Carmella's twisted face after the realisation that Paulie was extremely unhappy about providing her with money and only does so when he realises that Tony isn't going to die (from Uncle Junior's bullet).

I agree with Jamie-Lynn Siger. Life went on. Although David said recently Tony died, I want to believe it's open for thought. I think all was just showing the constant anxiety Tony had to live with but he remained with his family.
Well because it's unsolved. You can think everything but that doesnt mean anything because as you said is unsolved. The show ended with Tony eating at a restaurant, that's it, unless it is on screen he was just eating there, until its a new sopranos series thst says Tony really die or not. Its only that you like to think in useless theories that will always remain as theories until we actually see it on screen.
They all know the ending. They all give an ambiguous answer like: "I don't know", "It just ends". C'mon, one of them has to have some theory, right? Nope, they hide it, they signed a clause with Chase to not give any theory or personal explanation.
I always thought he died but maybe him looking worried and and being suspicious of every person coming in and out of places he is is just his life now. Always looking over his shoulder, family not safe. Idk lol great ending.
at least edie is honest. basically the expectations were so high that they said "fuck it", and cut to black. so instead of pleasing one part of the fans or another, chase angered them all in one fell swoop.
The result is clear if you follow the progression of action; We see Tony. The bell at the door rings, we see Tony look up and we see what Tony sees; Carmella walking in. We see Tony. The bell at the door rings, and again we see Tony look up and we see what Tony sees; A.J. walking in. We see Tony. The bell at the door rings, and again we see Tony look up and we see what Tony sees; but this time what Tony sees is nothing because Tony has just been shot dead.
The writing was so good that they left clues to justify 10 different endings, I even saw on person say that AJ and tony got whacked and they got aj first cus his POV would have been looking at tony then cut to black, there is no right answer or is no wrong answer but chase and his team realized they show was so popular and had so much riding on the ending that the only way they could end it without ruining it was to do what they did
If you watch the final four minutes of the finale carefully, you can tell that Tony was anticipating something bad to happen to him. This is evident when he's waiting for his family to come and when the door opens the first time with the door bell sound he immediately reaches for his pocket indicating he's prepared (he's got a gun) but nothing happens. He does the same thing in the last scene where Meadow's arrival is anticipated. He reaches for his gun. We can just chalk it up to the fact nothing necessarily happened, just like the first time and meadow simply just walked in.
I think the actors don't even know what the ending means, it seems like they didn't even think about it for a bit. They all agreed "yes this is the ending idk what it means but take it 👍" We like the ending for the many things it implies and how it allows you to imagine any conclusion you want after it cuts off

The ending is very simple. It is the final moments of one man’s life. The Black out ending is Death in it’s true form. Instant, but definite. From the Light &Into the Abyss.
Real death really depends on how you go. Most of the time though it's a fade. Your eyes lose sight, the colors all warp like an old TV set, gravity sucks you down. Then stars in your vision accumulate, then overwhelming dizziness, twilight, and a growing ring paired with what sounds like seashells cupping over your ears. The vein in your neck pumps overtime until your heart eventually sputters out. Pain slowly goes as this happens too, along with sensation in your extremities. Then, you pass out completely. Your lungs outgas your final breath, "the rattle" and your bowels loose. The End. UNLESS of course you're revived/revive Then all is reverse. An off color image of the person(s) trying to resuscitate you, looking purple ghoulish, no sound, then poping air brakes in your ears, followed by gradual hot cold sweat trickling all over your limbs, and hearing someone sucking in an epic hard breath, realizing only later it was you. Everything is Godfather sepia tone for hours afterward. You hear sounds off center of where they should be. Then somebody tells you how long you were gone. You'll have a vicious headache in the back of your head for the rest of the day, and jittery nausea. "Dying" sucks!

the true answer: it doesn't matter what happened. There was 0% chance of Tony dying an old free man so use your imagination for what you think should have happened
100% was taken out by the guy in the green jacket who was suspiciously looking at Tony then later went to the bathroom while Meadow was parking her car. Tony himself was nervous the whole time. Eyeing everyone in the diner before he eases up somewhat. There was plenty of cues in that whole scene. The abrupt ending with the black screen was from Tony's perspective. He 100% got wacked. The man was on burrowed time the minute Phil Leotardo got wacked at the gas station.
Exactly. So many CZcamsrs analyzed the characters and made assumptions as "to what really happened to Tony" is ridiculous. If Chase wanted you to know, he would've filmed it. Still, looking forward to the prequel.
My senaro sopranos series goes like this: Patrick Parize takes the don position after wacking Tony Soprano yet not for long because he get wacked By Meadow Soprano and she takes the position of don. She has to set up her brother to be sent to prison because he has become weak like Fredo Corleone. With her brilliance she finally makes the organization a legitimate multi million dollar company. Friero comes back, marries her mom and becomes meadows consulgiary
What I have always found interesting is how did somebody know where he was. If it was the guy who went into the bathroom he must have planted the gun earlier. It was surely a nod at godfather, Michael Corleone in that knew about that meeting. So he planted it earlier. This assassin must have known about the family get together. If he was just following him then he wouldn’t have gone into the bathroom. He went into the bathroom to get the weapon that he planted earlier. Then who sits in a diner waiting all day. He must have known the time, gone in before Tony got there, into the toilets, ordered a drink and the rest is how we see it. But who do you really tell. Who do you tell the exact time you’re meeting your family and the name of the diner? I get telling somebody you’re going for a meal and maybe the place but all those details, especially the time. I don’t think I’ve ever told anybody what time I am meeting somebody at a restaurant. It must have been somebody really close to Tony to know all of this. Maybe I need to go and watch it again. Maybe they promised Paulie the boss position or something and he got it set up for them.
AJ's girlfriend is sat with AJ when Carmela says where they are all meeting for dinner, always wondered why they included that scene, maybe she got rewarded or threatened to give up some information, just a thought
"I don't know... the show ended, figured it out for yourself" 😂 ❤ That's it. No one was going to be happy with the ending so it just went to Black and everyone make up your own ending😂😂😂😂❤ That was good. Ok They ate onion rings and never stopped believing until a sad trip to Italy 🇮🇹 😢
It was not a great way to end the show. It wasn't an ending. It was a big, "I don't know what to do. So let's leave it blank." You're a writer. It's your story. Figure it out. Good or bad decision, take responsibility for it.
How does AJ look like he hasn’t aged a day since season 6? Ik this is 4 years ago- but that’s still well over 10 years after the show ended, and he still looks like a baby lol.

A heard it was Alabama that killed Tony in the end.....
They woke up this morning and got themselves a gun...
Exactly. So many CZcamsrs analyzed the characters and made assumptions as "to what really happened to Tony" is ridiculous. If Chase wanted you to know, he would've filmed it.
Still, looking forward to the prequel.
Prequel?
@@antoniafaheerty6980 oh yes ...and Gandolfini's son, Michael, plays young Tony Soprano.
Total garbage..
They were all media trained
The guy in the members only jacket killed Tony
Tony literally came up missing.
If you look closely, it's all there - David Chase
I think the cast knows but is told to not say anything
Tony’s not dead he didn’t die in my opinion
Go Meadow
Who gave the ok???
"I don't know...
the show ended, figured it out for yourself"
😂 ❤
That's it. No one was going to be happy with the ending so it just went to Black and everyone make up your own ending😂😂😂😂❤
That was good.
Ok
They ate onion rings and never stopped believing until a sad trip to Italy 🇮🇹 😢
I don’t get how a.j doesn’t know what happened .. he was there
My friend thinks that it was actually Meadow who was killed. I dont know what to say.
Why are they scared to say he dies at the end?
When someone opens the door we see tony, then what he sees. The last time the door opens, we see tony then black, cos that’s what tony sees
Hey Pus...its not the thing of ours...its my thing !!
Carmela aged backwards.
It was not a great way to end the show. It wasn't an ending. It was a big, "I don't know what to do. So let's leave it blank." You're a writer. It's your story. Figure it out. Good or bad decision, take responsibility for it.
i agree 100% was one of the worst endings
It’s not rocket science. Tony was whacked. Lights out.
Alive goes on. Carmella is getting pounded by Furio on a regular basis.
How does AJ look like he hasn’t aged a day since season 6? Ik this is 4 years ago- but that’s still well over 10 years after the show ended, and he still looks like a baby lol.
Everyone’s saying tony died, which is prolly true. But my theory is that it’s just his paranoia and it shows he’ll always have this shadow over him of uneasiness. Im refusing to believe they killed him.
Creator David Chase, who would know better than anyone, confirmed to E News that Tony indeed died in that diner!
I neglect the bad ending. People can make whatever theories, I just believe the show ended!!
Hello how are you
Chicken Shit Ending...........When the people """In The Show""""
Don't know whats going on .............Now that's a bed ending ..............
how does AJ look the same as a 19 year old and a 30 something year old
Wait so....The Man Waited For the whole Family Too come in so he had a delay when Meadow was parking...So as soon as she walked in The Guy shot them all? Ending THE SOPRANOS Except it wasn't Cinematic...Am I wrong?
Is this show worth watching?
It doesn't really matter if Tony didn't die that day, in the end it will be he fate bullet in the back of the head
The last season was a desillusion.
Onion rings . 🤤
People have no brains if they need to ask what happened. They are looking into it way too much.
He clearly got whacked, but they left it open so they could cash in down the line if they wanted to. RIP Tony
It was explained in Bojack Horseman!!! Duh
AJ still hasn’t hit puberty, crazy.
Lorraine Bracco was so beautiful, why did she mess with her face?
