      Honestly why not just buy a bike that doenst need so much modding? Really drives up the price of the Enfield. On another note how much miles are you down rn and how well did it hold up so far?

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  Před 3 lety +4

      @@francisnorthwood7862 I purchased this bike as a canvas for customisation during the various lockdowns. Miles wise, about 1700, zero problems. Hoping to put some serious miles on it ASAP.

      @@WildlifeMoto Agree. The blank canvas aspect of the RE Interceptor is a big reason I'm attracted to the bike. Bikes are very personal choices based on a number of considerations. To each his own, but there's no need to confine your choice to a pure touring bike or an adventure style bike just bc you want to do some touring.
      The RE Interceptor is a standard type of bike, which to me are the best to own (especially if you only have one bike). Secondly, the pieces were useful improvements, high quality, and they didn't cost all that much money. Imo the value was well worth the cost, and I would want every one of them if I get that bike. On top of that everything you added was useful for riding around town as well as for touring.

      I've got a Dart on the Guzzi. It is mainly aesthetic. It does take a little of the blast off but it's main purpose seems to be directing flies into you mouth, yum.

      @@francisnorthwood7862 because 'most bikes' don't have the fun factor of this one. I do agree the seat wants replacing though; the stock one is definitely numb bum.

      @@WildlifeMoto No worries, will definitely keep watching! Just a quick question, are the standard brake/clutch cables long enough to fit your LSL bars do you think or did you need extended ones?

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  Před 3 lety

      @@mattfisher2513 Will you be running the standard bar clamps? If so, you should be fine. If you are running risers, or just want a bit more slack, I've seen others run the throttle cables behind the fork to gain a couple of cm back. My brake line was fine with these bars, but again if you are adding risers, you might need to play with the routing.

    Great video👍 I’m looking at the Continental touring seat as I think the lines suit the bike better (I have the same Ravishing Red Interceptor as you). I will also be using the bike for touring and will be using a 40l dry bag and lomo throw overs. I can get camping kit, clothes etc in with room to spare as I’ll be one up. My last bike was a BM R1200RS with hard panniers on it - a supreme high speed tourer.......but I’ve recently toured on an MZ250 and a 955i Daytona. Bike touring is a state of mind......you can tour on anythin🏍👍

      Absolutely, i've toured on a 250 before. It was so much fun.

      I would recommend an interceptor and switching out the tank. That’s what they do in India. Also love the look more of the GT, but the Interceptor is the more comfy bike.

    You missed out wind reduction! That's a huge huge killer on long trips.

      Yes. Still working on that one. I have the factory screen but it no longer fits with the new headlight brackets. Still looking for something that suits the bike and does the job.

      Mate just put a Givi on his Intercepter - mounts to the handle bars and def provides a good wind shelter

      Yep. We took a long ride across Arizona. I was the only one without a faring or windshield, I rode my bobber, and I actually ended up with nearly scabbed cheeks from hot windburn. It dried my lips till they were cracked so I had to wrap a bandana around my face for the ride home.

    I have bought Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 a few days back and i am very happy with the bike. This video is very impressive and i would like to make these modifications on my bike. Also I would like to add a "clock" if possible. Kindly let me know if these modifications are available in India.

  • @theinsufferablethumb6476

    i had the same issue with the clutch cable. the plastic mount came off and my wire was sitting on the radiator, melting the rubber around it. i noticed this because my friction point was basically non existant lol

    Ive also got the GT touring seat. For me the flat seat is better for the first 15 minutes or so, but after that the GT seat is much better. Im not sure it will work well with the handlebar risers though?

    Your bike looks and sound amazing! What are those bar end mirrorsIs and are they straightforward to fit with the frame, thanks 😊

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  Před 2 lety

      The bar ends are from Oberon Performance. They won't fit with the stock bars as RE have fitted some weird inserts. I have changed my bars to LSL.

    Very good, well thought out presentation. Nice pieces to add. If I buy the RE Interceptor, I'd definitely have them all. (Touring is such a major aspect of having a bike in the first place.)
    Panniers and windscreen coming up by any chance? Those items strike me as a no brainer for a longer tour.
