I’m Russian, I live in Moscow, just a student in medical university , and all people here are against this actions. As a medical student we chose to help people, save lives, and a single thought about being at war, helping soldiers - this is terrifying .Most of us have family and friends in Ukraine , the problem is that we absolutely can’t do a single thing, that will stop war. Watching American shows like this one, Jimmy Fallon and Colbert - I can’t watch and listen, how Americans are just laughing not understanding the pain both Ukrainian and Russian people feel. We are all scared and just praying for peace in the entire world. I just hope someone will read this and at least feel and understand our concerns.

I have to say that I was shocked at the tone Jimmy Kimmel took about the invasion of Ukraine. He just shrugged it off like it was of no concern, and I am really disappointed in him for this. It was very flippant, reducing it to something like the police fighting the trucker convoys, but it is very very real. I wonder if Americans would be so flippant if they lived in constant fear of invasion by a more powerful nation, or if New York or LA were being bombed right now. Anyway, I'll be taking a break from this show for a while, this has left me with a very negative impression.

There is like 15 trucks in this convoy and a thousand people who can't drive because of a DUI screaming about mandates that we do not even have for truckers.
When a long haul driver, who is seriously dedicated can drive 3,000 miles in UNDER a week, you have to wonder how upset these guys are when their schedule allows them 10-11 days to cross the country.
Something I’d like to put out there. I totally do not support what’s going on right now, and I understand everyone’s anger towards the Russian government. But please don’t let this hate bleed over to the Russian citizens. They’ve been protesting against the war too. I say this because one of my Russian friends (who doesn’t support Putin’s movements), is now getting bullied and getting a lot of hate. Just because he’s Russian doesn’t mean he was the one who flipped the switch for the start of the invasion, he has nothing to do with it.
The US is a arbiter of truth and goodness guys, just ignore all their history involving killing children in Afghanistan and iraq. But Putin is evil for reclaiming russian cities that Ukraine was supposed to give up - completely disregarding the details whereby there were supposed to negotiate with the help of NATO. Instead they ignored the treaty and negotiations and hoped the EU and US would fight for them. The US could have since they suprise suprise sent the CIA to instigate the revolutions in the 2000s.

I also don’t support what the US has done with Russia in the past that has made the situation escalate to this. NATO was originally made by USA and other countries to provide European countries with assistance AGAINST the Soviet Union. And Putin has long been publicly against the idea of NATO spreading eastwards, and guess what, it’s doing just that. Now if Ukraine joins NATO, Russia is cornered, since both the West and East is part of NATO. If you’re living in a NATO country, chances are the media portrays the situation with immense attention on Putin. Yes, there were more civil ways to approach this, but when you clearly tell an organization for years not to do something and they still do it, you’d be pissed no? There’s always two sides to an issue, but the lack of the duality in media is what makes me wanna stay neutral. For many people it takes too much effort to look into a subject (past news…olds?), they’d rather watch the current news, but that’s not always the most unbiased source.
