    I have my Autoflex SF505X installed in my normal Mavrik 9* set at neutral +1 (10*). Swingweight is D1.5 at 46”. I had difficulty at the range getting used to it (lower draw flight) ... but like Ian said, when I took it on the course and let my body make the adjustments (also interestingly including higher and forward tee), I was astonished - 280-290 (total) average (long 300) instead of 260. Only played it with 9 holes but 6 of 7 center of fairways. Slight draw path, mid-high(er) ball flight. Amazing. I have 2 rounds this week (Friday/Saturday) and will report more. Let’s see how it plays for 36 holes on a reasonably tight course for our groups championship, but at the moment I think it is astonishing.

    I'm using Autoflex SF505X for a 114mph swing speed. I have a Sim 10.5 head, 46 inches, and now have 3 rounds with it. It has been incredibly good. Everyone talks about the distance, but it's the dispersion that has really stood out, and additionally the ease of swinging. It's so little effort compared to a standard shaft. Tomorrow i try the 3 wood shaft in a TSI2 15 degree fairway. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

    This is a video that shows the process Bryson undoubtedly went through to find the swing that works with a 48" driver - less loft, ball more forward, modify a few little more things about delivery to find what works. There is no free lunch - 46" to 48" is going to require changes to make it work if you have built a swing based on a 45" driver. Fear of change is why most won't do it - it will require work and most don't want to do the work which could be substantial. What are 15 yards worth in terms of practice time?

    I liked the conversation, I believe most people overlook the “to get the most” out of a product aspect. I think most people think I swap something in and go on as before. Not many people talking about, to get the benefit you might need to change something else.

    • @canyonaro
      @canyonaro Před 3 lety

      That's because most fitters suck & are mainly trying to move product. After spending megabucks on fitting/new driver that didn't work for me on the course, I bought a Ventus Blue and fidgeted with weights to get a dramatically better result without changing the head again.
      On my irons, the fitter talked me into going flat on the spec because of the lie board. Guess what happened ... I missed everything right. Forget the lie board - if you hang shots right, go more upright. If you tug your short irons, flatten them. There's no rule that the lie angles have to move in even increments through the set. Adjust specs to make the ball go straight off every club & you'll be a much happier golfer.

    I would revisit the same set ups and give it the beans with both. With data from that, is there more of a gap between the two? Maybe that extra gear with better dispersion would be an advantage if Autoflexx gives you that. Especially if playing skins or something like that where you need to be aggressive to make up points. May allow you to take a real aggressive line with more certainty and more carry at your disposal if the situation called for it.

    I haven't watched this video yet (but I'm about to). I'm wondering, though, about a general shaft question (and possible video if you haven't already made one on this specific topic): for golfers who don't feel that they play enough or don't have the extra cash to get fitted, at what driver swing speed should they probably switch from a regular to a stiff shaft? I realize there are many more variables such as shaft weight, etc., etc. I am currently gaming the non-adjustable 10.5-degree driver with 65-gram regular-flex shaft that came with my Callaway Edge boxed set from Costco (just got back into playing more golf this year). A portable launch monitor (SC300) shows that I typically swing my driver at about 95 mph. My ball flight is usually fairly high and RPMs (if the monitor is accurate) are around 3000 with range balls. I'm also hoping to do some speed training over the winter to get my swing speed up to at least 100 mph. Should I think about getting a stiff-shafted driver? I think a video with regular vs. stiff shafts at different swing speeds could be interesting. Or maybe you made one already and I just haven't found it?

      Yes. Both AutoPower and AutoFlex shafts are made by Dumina Co. in Korea

    I'd like to see the same test with a few folks who have different swing speeds. See if the auto flex lives up to its name, being able to be used by multiple swing speeds

    Matt, if you were to compare it to a ventus shaft, what flex would the ventus be that would equal the flex feel of the autoflex.

    I still think you shouldn't be leaving 12 yards on the table. I know it's not conventional but it's one less club into every green!

    What does this shaft perform like for someone with a very quick transition?

  • @Noitan71
    @Noitan71 Před 3 lety +2

    Maybe I'm just speaking about myself as a total hack but wouldn't it be difficult to switch back and forth between Matt's traditional setup and the autoflex on the same course and the same day? Seems like you would be fighting competing swing thoughts and styles and confusing your body leading to more erratic results. Maybe play two or three rounds with just the autoflex and two or three rounds with your ventus and compare stats and feels afterwards.

    I think Matt is to skeptical of this shaft. I understanf his arguments, but until it has been tested much more he shouldnt dismiss it so easily.

    Is autoflex flimsier in terms of stiff and x compared to other shafts? Don’t know much about them. Or just more kick?

    Did you try a similar length Senior shaft with same Weight and telling Matt its another Autoflex ??? Matt is Clearly Adjusting his Sving to this shaft and he wants to !!!! if you put a senior flex into the hands of a good golfer ha already knows its wrong and will be biased . I am not sure this shaft is anything other then a light. long, soft shaft . The Way Matt svings the Club i am pretty sure he could get good numbers with a clubhead and a piece of string its a pleasure to watch
