The new 13 inch iPad Air! What it means for musicians.

- Since getting a larger size iPad pro 4 years ago I've gone completely digital with sheet music.
As I talked about in a video looking at what iPad to buy ( www.harptuesday.com/ep198/ ) as far as using it to read sheet music goes, we don't need the power of the "Pro" (and this is even more true now with the M series chips). So I think it's fantastic that finally the large 13 inch size is available as an Air and not just as a Pro.
In this video I try to compare some various options, as well as talk about the new "Pencil Pro". If you end up getting one of the new iPads and the pencil pro I'd love to hear about your experience!

I ordered my Air and pro pen Tuesday after the Apple event. I’m excited not to print sheet music anymore!!!!! Thanks for letting others know about it.
What storage did you get?
Use the original 'ipad pro 12.9 from 2016 with forscore, works like a charm storing all my sheetmusic with annotations. The battery is getting old but I always have a powerbank ready. Had a wedding gig outside on a beach, windy and sunny. Didnt see anything on the screen. Luckily I remembered the songs and didnt need to read….
Oh! How timely! I have no expertise in the field so no idea of the parameters to consider. Thank you so Much!!
I’ve used an IPad for my music for several years and am in the market for a new one. This video helped a lot. Thanks!!
Good to hear!
Useful review thank you!
Thank you Josh! Very timely for me.
This is so very helpful! I've been seriously considering buying an iPad for sheet music the past couple months and was thinking of buying an iPad pro a gen back (now that apple has released the new ones). I didn't even realize the new air model had a 13 inch screen (sort of a non-negotiable for me with the iPad and reading music). Very helpful and informative. I appreciate the insight!
Awesome, thanks Hannah!
Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks Josh.
The 4th Gen iPad Pro model I was using had terrible battery life, Face ID worked poorly if at all in anything but bright white light, but the real deal breaker was its weight. You didn't dare put it on anything less than a heavy Manhasset stand and the mounts I tried couldn't handle the weight either. Lightweight busking stands from OnStage or K&M could barely support the weight and were prone to toppling. As for pencils, just get a Logitech Crayon.
Thank you for this as I'm considering using a tablet for music. I'm also looking at Android tablets to see if they offer the same functions.
Yeah, check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab series
Ipad Air 6 screen good for eyes?
Can you use ForScore's face gesture page turning on the iPad Air?
I guess so,I have ues my iPad 10th and air m2 11 inch and camera is in same area so should be work on 13 inch
I don't know and I wasn't able to find out anything concrete - best guess would be yes?? But unsure
I have been using an Ipad pro 3. generation for music. I broke it the other day and finding the right solution is giving me headaches!
I would only use it for forscore Pro so most of the features I wont be using… anyway good review!
