- I got my hands on some awesome ultralight camping gear on aliexpress which I wanted to share with you! This is a tyvek bivvy from 3f ul gear. It is the same sort of material they use under roofing tiles. It is breathable and waterproof. Someone has pointed out to me that the zip is not seam sealed on this model but I'll certainly be putting it to the test camping out in it soon. Hope you enjoy this camping gear haul which should be perfect for the summer.

Tyvek is also used for coveralls used for spray painting and asbestos removal. These coveralls are not breathable so you sweat like hell in them. They are also hard to rip so better than other coveralls. I know as I'm an asbestos analyst/surveyor. Still have a few of the tyvek coveralls. Great as a survival tool instead of a blanket as they have elasticated cuffs and a hood. Just though I'd let you know of other uses as well as roofing. Great vid and I love aliexpress for stuff!
Thanks for the info man I haven't tried sleeping it in yet. cheers 👊

I've seen this tyvek bivvy bag before. Almost bought one myself a while ago. You got me convinced again. Great vid Adam. Your banging them out 👍
Thanks man it will add a bit of extra warmth and wind protection how waterproof it is we will see!
Now this is the video I wanted to look into. Legendary 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks very much pal!
Another bloody good review keep up the good work 😎👌⛺️
Thanks mate much appreciated!
I used the tyvek bag same way as you have used it, same reasons but I also like the way the bag holds me in on the pad, preventing arms slipping off etc😊
I'll b using it in the tent tonight if I'm chilly it's a great lightweight extra bit of warmth
Great setup review 👍 Lightweight and cheap. Picnic mat idea is tidy too.
AliExpress is definitely a rabbit hole 😂
Thanks glad you liked it!
Enjoyed the video mate. Hope it works as good as it sounds.
Look forward to the test and the trip you take with it 🤓
Thanks for watching it should be good I look forward to using it!
Awesome Video man, you blowing it up!
Thanks very much 😊👊
awesome light weight set up mate 👍🏻
Cheers can't wait to try it out
Great video as always👍
Thanks mate 😊👍
I had this bivvy but recently got rid of it, it's a great bit of kit. Nice summer set up bud.
ATB Adam 👍👍
Thanks man really looking forward to trying it any reason you got rid
@@MrWildWales just wouldnt of used it. Just gathering dust 👍
Great vid mate
Thanks 👍
That looks ace. 👌 need to look into that
Thanks for watching and if you get into aliexpress... it wasnt me 😅
I like the look of that! 👍 Great vid again and I tell my Mrs it’s all your fault 🤣
Cheers not bad is it? Lol I'll take the heat for you as long as she doesn't see me in person
Pmsl 🤣 It’s bang on dude. I’m intrigued with the bivvy! 👊
could be a bivvy and tarp job next time 👌
Thanks for nice review.✌
My pleasure 😊
Nice work mad man! haha
Thanks man!
Great set up and video oh yes it's never my fault with Ali Express its always the CZcams gang 🤣🤣💪💪👍🏴
Cheers lol got to have a backup story ready I guess
Well this was a very thorough and informative video... Nice one Adam. AliExpress is good for most things but I highly recommend you don't buy knives from them. I ordered 3 from different sellers on the site and none arrived... I couldn't get a refund as I received a letter from border force saying they had been confiscated as the sellers lie about what's in the package i.e. they said on the package that it was metal pliers. If i want to contest it then I have to go to court. Have a great weekend fella.
Ah right thanks for the info on that. Actually I've seen some pretty dodgy things on there like a ring with a hidden knife in it. Would defo be illegal in this country I'd say so have to be careful what gets ordered
Great video! Would you recommend using something like this bivy and mat with only something like the Costco down blanket inside and maybe long underwear for summer or early fall camping?
Thanks I haven't seen that blanket but something like that would be good. Maybe a midge head net to go with it! I doubt you'd need leggings but it depends where you are from
Did you ever test the bivvy out? I’m torn between this and the sol escape bivvy. Looking to add a couple of degrees to my winter setup. This looks plenty big enough to fit my quilt in but not sure how much warmth it adds. The sol looks warmer but doesn’t look any where near as big.
I did it quite a few times just for added warmth. Bivvy bags are not normally my thing though. I can't see it being that waterproof but it's good for extra warmth
I made my DIY heat reflective sleeping bag, made of Tyvek 14-S and I just bought the bivy bag you are showing. Have you climbed Pen y Fan? I did!
Fair play sounds like a good creation there! Yeah I've done pen y fan before 🙂
@@MrWildWales You might consider cutting your folding sleeping pads corners similarly to your inflatable pad to reduce its weight & volume.

Great review 👍 do you think the material is robust?
Thanks it feels more solid than I thought it was actually 🤔
Or use the bivvy in the tent - leave the inner at home.
Thats true and probably a lot warmer too than an inner 👌
You got much use out of the tyvek bivvy? Do you find it has a problem with condensation?
I've actually only slept in it once so far and was pretty condensation free. But I was getting midges coming in the face opening. I will be using it in winter again mainly as a wind barrier
well twice thinking about it
Great video....I'm guessing that fir tree was an old Xmas Tree - am I wrong?
Thanks dude I used to be really into bonsai but a lot of them have gone into the ground now 👍
That Tyvek Bivvy has my name on it.
A bag of sugar cost's 65p. I can get all that camping gear for 65p? 🤗🏴
You wish 🤣 The sleeping bag is about £65!
Kim is already shouting.. Ill send her over to give you an ear bashing haha
😂😂😂
@@Thepizzalifechoseme lololololololol
OK, let me guess, lots of condensation inside a bivy bcs it s not much breathable, right?
Not too bad really they are designed to let out moisture and as long as you keep your face outside most goes out.
Don't think I've ever seen you do a light weight camp butt lol
🤣 maybe not mate I do love a luxury camp out!
@@MrWildWales I'm the same mate. I'd rather spend 90 minutes slogging to a camp spot with a heavy pack and enjoy the next 14 hours being comfortable, than have an easy hike with lightweight gear and spend 14 hours wishing I had brought more stuff lol.
Looked online on the Tyvek bivvy first site came too, (Outdoors Essentials UK) states its not a bivvy by itself but for using with a down bag in wet or damp conditions or condensation inside a tent - but intrigued when you test it out in the rain how it fairs up
Been thinking about a bivvy for ages just basically for extra warmth in the tent but I will defo test this outdoors to try it out 👊 cheers
@@MrWildWales I have the OEX Bush pro Bivvy mainly use in tent in winter conditions for extra warmth but found it to be reasonably waterproof on a summer bivvy camp with no tarp
Seen roofers tie tyvek in a robe or cut it in a poncho when it starts to rain and they need to finish up lol
🤣
I have one. First time in rain and it leaked completely in less than 1h.
😖 glad it didn't rain when I used it then!
I don’t think it’s meant to be waterproof, just keep dew off your bag and wind defence
Have you tried it in winter?
Only inside the tent for extra warmth
You do get some good stuff from Ali, but I have to say, the Chinese idea of camping colour is a little "off" 😁
It's a little bright but at least I won't lose it 😂
and the rain?
Good for showers but use a tarp if you know its rain

@@MrWildWales you are a pro!!!
Never ordered off Ali... Ill have to have a nose around
its a good site if you're willing to wait a couple of weeks!
Ever since tyvek was discovered by the prepper and ca.pi.g community, it's price went way up... I think it will just go up so but it now while it's still reasonable.
Yeah I know what you mean I think they key is not to search for 'camping' tyvek and get the house stuff!
@@MrWildWales no even that raised in price. Contractors still get it slightly cheaper, so if you see it you can ask if you can get it when they're done with it.
