I had an idea for a one man tent that went very much like this, back in the 1970's when I was a kid. Nice to see someone took that idea and ran with it. "Bivy Bag" is a new term for me, but I will have to look into this and see what else is out there. Thanks for posting this.
Just like ALL hooped bivvies useless for side sleepers. If you side sleep your shoulder presses up against the fly sheet and closes the vent. If they just added a side vent, or made the hood a bit higher !

its the same as the dutch army hooped bivy which was also made by carinthia u can find em on ebay for 89 euros

Check at around the 0:50 point. They’re not heavy (I have one myself) and they pack down quite small.
