I've just found your video, and enjoyed it. I, too, have a Lanshan One, just like yours with 'T' zip set up. It's an ideal tent for me, I'm much older than you and not so supple any more, and what I like about it so much is, with my tent fully opened up I can transfer what I want from my rucksack into my tent without really having to bend down. I did away with the original entrance cord set up, I now just peg one flap into the ground and the other flap is secured by the zip. I've had my tent over two years, and it's never leaked, and I've only had to lower my pole once, I lost my nerve in a very windy storm in France. This tent for me has only one real drawback, it's not freestanding, on three nights in the Pyrenees last year it was so very hot and the ground was like concrete all I could do was to get inside the mesh and let the tent drape over me. My view is that it's one of the best tents, definitely the best tent I've ever owned. All the best.
Yes we agree, the T zip offers far more ease of use and versatility when compared to the J zip variant. It’s an absolutely fantastic tent for the price it really is and when it comes to pros and cons, it’s like anything. The fact it’s trekking pole means it’s not free standing, the flip side is that it’s low weight. I own this tent ⛺️ and it has served me very well.
I did a quick mod on the front door by replacing the hook with the z packs hook, which makes the tent even better.

Great video and very informative, I have just got the Lanshan 1 and set it up in the garden. It didn’t take too long to set up but I am probably going to go with the extra stake for the doors like others have. Looking forward to putting it to good use over the coming months.

Great video and I agree with the analysis of this tent. I bought a Lanshan 1 a year ago to get my pack weight down on my frequent Highland hikes and it has kept the weather and the midges out without fail. My Thermarest NeoAir and sleeping kit fit in easily. It is a bit tight for pack space and my retriever sneaks in under the pinned back entrance flap in dry weather (he has his own poncho basha so my pack goes in there! ) It is important to lift the guys as high as possible in order to tension the inner - the second hiking pole or a piece of wood can do this as shown in the intro photo on the video - otherwise it can sag. Recommended tent.

Wow! Excellent review brother. You are 100% correct, the Lanshan 1 and 2 are without a doubt the best all round tents on the market. If you have more money then brains…you can buy a zpack. Yes, you’ll save a pound in weight, but you’re likely to freeze you ass off on cold nights. Thanks for sharing mate.

Great review. I got rid of the rams horn clip, replaced it with 2 short bungee loops hooked to an extra peg, with one door open the other is more taut so no flapping

Don't use the zipper. Just overlap the doors with an extra peg.
Good review and now considering buying one. I have the Lanshan 1pro, which l'm pleased with, but as a single skinner, condensation can sometimes be an issue.
Single skin tents have their advantages, condensation generally not being one of them. Can tend to manage it in the summer but as you head into the shoulder seasons and winter, double skinned tent to offer abit more versatility. All the best - BR
Did you add the linelocks to your inner or did it come that way? I have the plus but with 3 season (mesh) T-zip inner and mine just came with adjustable loops made from the same material as the guyline. I swapped the loops out for shock cord so it self-tensions which works well but it doesn't want to lie flush to the ground in the corners and raises up, your linelocks seem to do a good job of keeping things taut and square.
Surprised that you haven't had to do any seam sealing, I was getting water weeping through the guy line points onto the inner if there was more than just a quick shower but it was an easy fix. Nicely presented video.
Hi, our 4 season tdoor inner came with line locks.
You can buy them cheap online though so could be worth the easy modification. I really like having them, makes it very easy to get the tension right.
I’ve heard people have the same issue re water getting in through the guy points but I’ve had this on plenty of rainy camps and honestly never had any issues with it. Could very well be down to manufacturing inconsistencies!

Do you think, 4 season with 20D windproof and breathable cloth with perform in same way as 3 season with 20D mesh during summer? Just thinking if will be not too warm if I go for some hike in Spain for example, but I guess should be minimum difference.
Because Im in UK and do some hikes in autumn or early spring, 4 season makes more sense
Another thing is what about seam sealed? Almost everywhere in specs is that should be already, but I only saw some review on this tent too where the guy pitched the tent and poured with water from his garden hose and he's got little leaks inside through those 3 black tips outside of the tent walls, what actually he said he knew they need to be sealed by yourself, so just want to be sure if its correct.
Im very glad for this extented version and with double wall dont have to be worry so much about condesation and get wet my down bag.
Hi mate, I think a lot of it is preference but we’ve mostly been using the 4 season tdoor inner. We also have the mesh version but if we was to only buy one personally it would be the 4 season as it’s a bit more versatile in our opinion and still able to use year round in the uk.
We haven’t done any seam sealing on the tent, it does come from the factory already sealed however as you mentioned, some people have noticed some water getting in from where the two side guylines are attached. We’ve used the tent in heavy rain a few times and not had any issues or noticed any water getting in, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eye on it and look at sealing it if there are any leaks.

I still cannot make up my mind whether it should be the lan 1 or 2 :-) for me.
If you have experience with a small tent and know categorically you are fine with them, and camp in places that require small pitches then lanshan 1. But if you plan on spending long nights in the tent, then the 2 provides a lot more comfort and practicality. All the best - BR

Next September I plan to hike the northern section of the Arizona Trail (532 km) which ranges from 2400 meters to above 2600 meters and the weather changes quickly. Thank you for the kind words and support, really happy to hear you found some value in the vid. So we have used it in winds just shy of 30mph but we wouldn’t recommend going over that. Whilst you see many vids showing it being used in snow we don’t have any direct experience of such conditions so can’t talk to that. For more insight on its performance on a multi day hike check out our vid in Norway where we used it for that trip. If you suspected you may encounter terrible conditions you could also consider looking at something like a MLD duo-mid or a dyneema pyramid design for extra protection. Hope this helps haha. your tent looks really well set up. It looks like there is much room in it... how did you do that? I ve seen other reviews where inner tent seemed to be veeeery loos and stuff... so I got afraid I bought the wrong tent but you re relieving me now 😂
Thanks Raphael! It does take a little bit of getting used to when setting this tent up to get the inner right. It can still sag at times especially if the ground isn’t particularly flat, but the tips in the video such as setting the trekking pole up to the right length and angle, and taking the time to properly adjust the peg out points and guylines, will help you get the best pitch possible. It’s a cracking a tent though and I’m sure you’ll enjoy using it. All the best 👍 BR

I got this tent, and I was having trouble closing both the vestibule flaps when I go to sleep. Is it meant to close both vestibule flaps when going to sleep, or is it meant to have one open? Any suggestions on how to make this easier?
Yes both doors should shut. You’ll find that it will often become very tight towards the bottom. This tends to be due to the fact that when you are stood outside the tent and close both doors, both shock cords go over the rams head clip distributing the weight evenly. However, when you get in the tent one will of course be unclipped, when you come to zip the door all the way down from the inside you’ll often find it’s tight towards the bottom, it’s very fiddly but try and attach the rams horn again from the inside, this should allow you to take tension off and the zip pull down. Just consider that a swift exit from the tent could be impeded however. All the best - BR
How is the condensation with the 4 season inner in cold weather 0 C and below?
Hi, I had it out on our last Norway trip and it did suffer with some condensation only on the first night where there was no wind and the temp dropped into the minuses. It was mostly towards the apex of the inner. We have the vid up on the channel if wanted to have a better look.
It was manageable though and wasn’t an issue by any means, but it could be something to consider if they are the conditions you’re likely to use it in regularly.

What steak out pole do you recommend?
We use fairly inexpensive Nature-hike trekking poles. But you have better quality ones in the likes of black diamond or Leki
What's the difference between the lanshan 1 and the lanshan 1 plus
Not sure they do a ‘regular’ lanshan in 2023. As far as we are aware it’s either the plus which was the original but extended a few years back and comes with an inner, or the pro which is single skinned. Hope that helps. All the best - BR
Lanshan 1 is 210cm (inner). Lanshan 1 Plus 230cm. And outer is larger of course.

Correct mate, the lanshan has just been around longer. Night Car are the latest company to field their own version of this tent model. Effectively the exact same product with a different logo on and from what we can tell, ever so slightly cheaper! All the best - BR 👍
