A helpful video. You might want to look at your microphone setup though, as there are quite a few other noises being picked up, like when you click.

Thanks for your feedback, just ordered a microphone holder adjustable arm to distance the mic from a keyboard ^_^

@@KruMark It wouldn't hurt to process the audio as well. Audio makes a big difference in a videos production quality. This can be done very quick and easy, there are software which will automatically remove noise, reverb + add eq and compression to make good sounding audio

Nicely explained. At first I was "meh" about this tool. I'm an old school illustrator that always used the boolean tools for this kind of stuff, but this tool really does simplify and quicken the process and it's fun at the same time! Thanks! Lovin V2! Sub'd.

Hi Mark, your tutorials are just awesome, thanks so much! I’m new to Designer and vector graphics, and I really appreciate your style: show what is possible and how it is done, with just the right pace. I wish you a lot of success on YT, you totally deserve it!

@Kru Mark hello from a huge fan in New Orleans. Hi my name is Leonard and I was just wondering will this work with lettering to make a photography logo thanks for all of your work and dedication in making all the wonderful video tutorials to help us all learn new ways to use Affinity photo designer and publisher

Hey, thanks for watching! You can start with nice a font and then expand your letters into shapes after that you will be able to use Shape Builder on them.

Something that I found that makes expanding the stroke easier is to assign the E as the expand stroke shortcut. Select the stroke you want to expand the stroke on and press E, you're done.

      How do you assign?

@@peace.n.blessings5579 Click Edit in the top menu; Preference; Shortcuts; Open the drop down that says Files and go to layer; Scroll down to Expand Stroke (they are in alphabetical order); Click in the box to the right of Expand Stroke and type an e (or whatever shortcut you want) in the box; then scroll to the top and click save. You will need to save your preferences file somewhere. I have all my affinity preferences files in the same place, i.e. where ever you decide to save them. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all of your tutorials, Mark! :) Quick question - is there any way to add shading? So that when I have two donuts interlocking, that you can add some type of shading so it looks more 3D? The shading would be just where the donuts interlock so it would appear as if one donut was "on top" of the other donut. Not sure if that makes sense. Thanks again! :)

Do you have a similar tutorial for V1? I did look around on your channel. I have not yet upgraded. Thanks for the link (if you have one).

Thank you! Is there a difference between using Expand Stroke as you explain here, and using Convert To Curves? ie. If I were to use Convert to Curves on the various shapes, will the Shape Builder tool not work?
