A well-planned tutorial with plenty of practical examples and logical explanation done at a good pace. If only more tutorials were as good.
Thank you Paul!
Thank you - clearly demonstrated and steady pace.
Nice tutorial. I'll be adding some refinements to the Shape Builder tool in coming updates.
You know - if you don't preselect one of the Action modes, you can make and refine a selection of areas (including adding and removing areas from the selection), then click on an Action button, or press Return or Backspace to apply the selection. This is much more powerful as it affords you more control and precision over which areas are used to make you shapes.
Thanks I now know the hotkeys thanks to this comment
Wonderful video! I really enjoyed how you explained this and could follow along easily! Thank you!
Thank you! Love the many examples! Keep up the good work!
Love it! Your tutorial and this shape builder tool! 😍
Thank you for the video tutorial. Simple and precise. I'm able to create a rough logo design for my small company by watching this. I decided to create the logo myself after being turned down for a few times by paid designer and your tutorial help me through for the very first time user of Affinity Designer
I have started with Affinity Designer 2. Thank you for the tut, easy to follow.
Thanks! This is definitely the clearest and most comprehensive demo of the shape builder that I've seen. I'm excited!
Awesome, thank you! ^_^
Awesome. That's what I looked for!
Glad I could help!
Very well explained and demo’ed.🌟👏👍
I'm not sure I would have ever figured out how to use this tool from the built in help had you not made a tutorial. Thank you.
Happy to help ^_^
Hi, really helpful tutorial, thank you mate for your work
My pleasure!
Great informative video, thank you so much! This new tool is way less confusing thanks to you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you - an easy to follow tutorial that didn't assume I already knew where the shape builder tool button was or any other buttons!!! The pace was good so once I had drawn your pictures/patterns I could follow along.
You're welcome! ^_^
Brilliant stuff. Many thanks
Fantastic, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
really col tool! Thanks!
Appreciate the vid and the download!
^_^
Thank you!
Great videos. I think with the new shape builder tool and the Boolean tools with their compound abilities, sky's the limit. Now if only they could stop the crashes. I know we should save often, but sometimes clicking on save will crash the program.🙃
Yes, yes, it's a bore. However sometimes it's a disaster.
Awesome Top G, saved me from buying an iPad
^_-
nice
Thanks
Thanks for this overview of the the new SB tool.
Off topic: What I'd like to see is a "shape hugger" tool, where a shape can be configured to share borders with one or more other shapes. In this environment, one could reshape shared borders without having to worry about the layer hierarchy of the involved. This would be very useful when editing busy graphic images. My 2 cents.
Thanks, compound shapes with shared borders is an interesting idea!
My thought is that, giving that shape builder can see open lines now, maybe it's time to use open lines for everything so that it's easier to work with. And once you are done with it, use shape builder to combine all of them into a single contour.
Can you elaborate?
There is already a feature in the Node tool, where you can copying nodes from one set of geometry to another.
Bey Bey illustrator!
^_^
Thank
:)
👌
:)
interesting
Great....
How can we do that in Affinity Designer 1?
It's new for Affinity 2.
@@Mrflippyfloop
Thanks for informing that which I knew.
Tell me please, how can we do such thing in Affinity Designer 1?
I thought last example would resemble a dick as a joke 😂
Really great explanation btw, convinced me to upgrade to V2 !
Any chance you could do a course on Udemy?
Yes PLEASE! At Skillshare they accept neither pre-paid cards nor bank transfers from Italy and I'm practically shut out of that platform since I don't want to use the other payment options they offer. So Udemy would indeed be a GREAT possibility.
Hey could you create a frosty text effect, or icy text effect, or on a object frosty, icy, effect.
That'd be cool
Courtesy forms are very appreciable: could you PLEASE etc?
I couldn't download the files
the noise of the keyboard or Mause is so anoying xD
Sorrrrrrrry, made some adjustments already it's much better in the newest video ^_^
Thank you!
