- In this video I build not just one but two of the South of the Border MDF kits from Sarissa Precision.
Links to these kits are below.
These are really easy to make, and really easy to make them look nice as well.
I hope this is useful.

What amazing looking buildings BC! Wonderful texture on the walls!
Thank you so much buddy :) yeah, such an easy simple method as well :) I can't wait to get my desk clear (and receive the rest of my order) so I can make loads more and fill a table with these :)
Sarissa does great kits, thanks for sharing. Some funny things happen when you think nothing will happen. Cheers mate.
You are very welcome - I have had a couple of difficult ones but always found the results to be great. Thanks so much
Love Sarissa kits, so satisfying to build and customise, nice little video mate👍🏻
Yeah I need to try 4ground but I've not bought any of their stuff yet to compare this with... maybe I should but honestly I'm so happy with Sarissa :)
Really awesome work in this video! These buildings came out looking great!

Thanks man, very much appreciate you dropping by and taking time to comment :) take it easy bro
Loving the building content as usual those kits do look fantastic, I am loving your blood and plunder work.
Thanks mate :) yeah I've now got a table full either already here or on its way :) I will do some build videos for each different kit I've got, and then a showcase of it all together :) I cannot WAIT to get a game going ! thank you sir:)
I haven’t had opportunity to see one of these MDF kits up close other than still in their flat pack state and when seen like that I haven’t ever been wholly sold on the idea. Every time I see somebody put them together though they always look really good... and quick, and I presume very durable? I would imagine pretty easy to modify too... cheers for another excellent video 👍
Thanks mate - yeah in the pack they are very unpromising however you can really do a lot with them (this video is about the simplest thing you can do; whack some texture on and I didn't even have to paint it as it was the correct colour already).
They are surely easy to modify, I'll try and get something like that done and up so you can see... I'd really recommend grabbing a cheap kit from Sarissa and giving them a go - they are very good :)
Thanks for the comment, and the really kind words and encouragement :)
Great build, cant wait to see the rest. Honestly mate around here your tag should be "He does brilliant things so that I want to as well." The wood stain really came out nice, lovely touch that. Cheers!
haha :) thank you very much, as always :) I was very pleased with these, and do have more on their way; they're so easy to get looking great.
Yeah, that final last minute touch was a good decision indeed.
Thanks as always!
Beautiful. And so are the models.
no... you!!!

If your looking for a good church/mission for your B&P game, I suggest the California Mission Model Kits. They are foam core but can be spursed up nicely, plus they are available in craft stores or on Amazon. There is also a wide variety of different buildings available so yours doesn't have to look like other people's.
Oh thanks a lot for the suggestion :) I will go and have a look for these right now.
Really appreciate that; cheers for taking the time!
Nice build
Cheers Rivers :) it came out OK indeed :)
Those look great but wait a sec... the accent, mdf kits, and "crack on"... Mel?? ;)
You know just what to say to me to make me blush :D
A nice build video. I do a fair bit of mdf buildings but not heard of the sealent. Could you maybe do a video on that? I use the company Blotz a lot who do Adobe buildings
Thanks mate :) yeah, I am not really a fan of painting with PVA so I picked up a pot and liked it a lot; I'll certainly do a video on it for sure, cheers.
OK I'll look them up; thanks for the suggestion.
Cheers
MDF is so finicky but they make some great pop up terrain.
Yeah I really like them as a basis like I've done here; they need to be dressed up as just plain they look rubbish :) Cheers for the comment :)
The Iron bars would have been painted black as would pretty much any iron items. The bricks aren't red bricks they are suppose to be adobe bricks and would be dirt colored, i.e. a pale tan color.
Thanks for your input :) I guess I like how they look, but that's very useful if someone were going for very realistic.
Cheers!
HA FIRST! And you didn't even post it yet! ;)
haha you are so quick....
....
... or at least that's what she said :)
Prime the models before you break them out from the sprue.
I avoid doing this as a hold-over from plastic kits; you don't want to paint your glue contact points :)
I think more and more I'll be texturing my MDF kits and that'll act as both texture and priming :) in the case of the bars in the jail I think you have a good point, however :) cheers!!
