- Gerry continues with his plans to revamp one of our old boards and some of the terrain for Spring Clean Hobby Challenge 2024. The idea is to build this using inspiration from Operation Chariot, crafting a Saint Nazaire port and dock from World War II for games of Bolt Action and 02 Hundred Hours in 28mm.

In this third video, John and Gerry show off the buildings they'll be using from Sarissa Precision and what they can do to add more detail to the World War II terrain pieces.
We have some tricks for adding lights into the mix as well as ways for us to cover the flat roof sections and create more character in the buildings. There are also some plans for potential defensive gun emplacements. John just needs to find one...

#02HundredHours #BoltAction #SarissaPrecision - Hry
Sarrisa makes some great kits and it’s nice to see John in his WWII element.
Hi Gerry. Really looking forward to showing you what have Sarissa have done for us this year at the UK Games Expo at the end of May. Be awesome if you get 5 minutes to actually roll a die or two on our awesome Normandy Boards this time too! Loving watching this project come together as well by the way. Top stuff! Best wishes. Duncan
I have a free Sarrisa kits and really enjoyed putting them together. This project has encouraged me to finish painting them.
Sarissa terrain saves a lot of time from scratch building! 🙂
Looks like a good amount of buildings for the board.
Looking good boys, especially loved the stuff you id behind John's back... Lol
not bored yet with this board build yet ;)
Looks great. Those Sarissa buildings are very effective.
It's looking great you have done a great job on it now havering the buildings on the table can't wait for it to be finished for the game 🤠🤠🤠
Nicely presented - gets the creative juices flowing!
This is going to be a great looking board
Great work guys! I have a few Sarissa buildings and pieces, all of which work great for the settings I have them for. It's eye opening to see new options and builds. Looking forward to more!
Yesss, love these kind of build videos from you guys. More please
Great to see a board build!
Okay...that's a lot of MDF stuff!!! I really like the gantry sets as I think I may some of those for a similar project. I recommend on painting the search light, to paint the inside of the light area white, then add some clear plastic over the opening so it adds that extra detail like a real search light. I too was thinking about tinkering with the the LED for it, but lost interests and time to mess with it...but good option as well.
Looks like it’ll be a nice game board 💪🏻🫡
I've been working on upping my terrain game. Don't have space to make a whole board yet. But this gives me a bunch of ideas
Some great ideas. I’m working on a similar but smaller board for 0200 now I’ve painted all the minis in the set
that mdf is great! you could use that for many different games.
Great work John. Stellar work.
I've always wanted to build a docks board. It feels like most of it should be roughly valid for the past 100 years and in to the future (even if you have to squint a little) just by changing a few minor pieces to tie it to a period.
Looking great.
This is looking great and you guys are doing amazing job. I'm thinking you should have a German E-boat in the dry dock
Looking good.
Great stuff chaps
looks amazing!
Great looking board. Could use train tracks perhaps 😉
U-Boot for the win!
Not gonna lie, as a french it was weird for two seconds to see a video titled "Let's build this very specific town I thought nobody outside of France ever heard of" lol
it's famous, the raid on Saint Nazaire is known as the Greatest Raid Of All Time, there is even a very good documentary with the same name about it
Nice one :)
I need more MDF in my life
Can't wait to see the finished board! Why not use Lego/toy wheels for the gantry so it can actually move?
The boards really coming along. I like that crane a lot, looks like you left the wheels in the original orientation? Seems to me they are on the wrong way for how one of those is intended to work. Looking forward to seeing everything painted up!
well we only had a short amount of time to get everything done and since they may not always be used on this board we figured we'd leave them for now. However picking up another set is a distinct possibility
I would love to see you all bust out the foam core sometimes. I'm a teacher with young kids. Sarissa and 3d printing aren't in the cards right now. Work in foam core all the time and would love to see how you do it.
leave it with me, I'm a huge fan of foamcore and have stacks of it
Prepare the PVA! Prime the squeeze bottles!
cool. i wonder if this plays a bit like bat man
Interesting how the wheels on the crane thing go the wrong way. Think I’d change that as even as a small detail it would peeve me enough to make we wanna sort it out
Buildings are looking great, im sure Jerry was doing something else that was really important and not skiving from the building stage! 😉
drinking, it was St Patricks week which is a lot of drinking time
I’m going to paint up my German defenders as Luftwaffe so I’m going to do an airfield, radar station and/or research facility.
The top of the bunker could be painted Brown and then Add Grass.
Just saying
does being 1st count??
So is Operation Chariot a campaign in 0200 hrs?
no but we're planning something like that
