CHAPTERS;
Hearing you guys talk about buying text books for that amount is insane. I done my masters in the UK and I didn't buy any textbooks. At one point I went to the office and just asked the author for a copy of his network config book because he had them spare.
I loved it when Wren said “It’s Wrendering Time!”
And then he Wrendered all over the place.
Time to wrend
10:13 Actually, thank you Jordan.
This really makes me rethink how I approach being creative and making stuff.
As you mentioned, you can tweak until infinity and let the perfectionist hang out, but giving yourself a time limit and posting it, no matter the quality is better than overthinking it for a week... or 2... and then 3 months go by.
Jordan explaining velocity vectors is just pure joy 💕
10:36 I feel you bro, I only tasted success when I let go of perfection. Sometimes our own artistry is our worst enemy. Makes me wonder sometimes, is the perfection for the sake or the art or ego?
🙏
Neither. OCD.
Fun fact I learned about the different versions of books. A lot of the time the text books rotate their problem so if it's on version 10, version 8 is more likely to have the same problems vs version 9. Found that out with math textbooks
Loving the background aesthetic of Jordan casually carrying things of varying weights around 😂
Bottle flip: you have a bottom-weighted bottle for the initial flip BECAUSE centrifugal force would keep the bottom stable. At the exact frame that the bottle hits the table, it changes to being powered by physics objects inside the bottle. I would probably use about 100 spheres and see if they match how water should react to that scenario. If it works, you would then bake the rest of the bottle's animation to keyframes AND THEN you would add the fluid. If it doesn't match, then you would go back through and refine the steps to make things feel more intact. But remember than the water only affects the bottle when it's in it's densest form. So only the majority of the water pushes the bottle around on the table after the flip.
Wdym densest form if you can't compress water?
@@l_..l.l.__l..l8833 can't compress it, but it can be dispersed. So think of the centrifugal force acting upon it as a concentration of the water in the bottle and a buildup of kinetic energy, and as soon as the bottle hits the table, the kinetic energy is released into the bottle, shifting it around. But once the kinetic energy is gone, the water is no longer an active part of the simulation. The presence of kinetic energy in the water can be represented as density: despite not being compressible, the water's volume is playing host to the kinetic energy as well while the bottle is spinning.
The universe DOES have a resolution and a frame rate, it IS NOT infinite. It’s the plank length and time.
Oh he's the guy who brings a guitar to every party 🤣😂🤣
Nice a nieuw one to listen to while working!
The Dude Perfect 'collab' / reproduction could work well as an April 1st vid
I work at a company that does the exact thing you're talking about with collision dynamics. I process all the 3d data we capture and help with our in house viz projects. If you guys have any questions or requests, send me a message.
You should do Antz and Bugs Life on the next VFX react.
This was a much better explanation of FLIPs than what was in the Houdini video
Water bottle FLIP sounds like a neat sim idea indeed. I'd do the water first, because it's more mass, and it has everything to do with the bottle landing the right way. Might try it for fun. Love the show.
About which to simulate first: as Carl Sagan once said, "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe" reality has infinite simulations running in parrallel lol
Berboullis’e principle explained by jordan was the simplest ever!!..
I don't understand much but I feel like I do. So exciting to seeeee the future
The pixel size is the Planck scale
27:00 Because of Dude Perfect video project.
I imagine the video being a one-shot. Unsure if that will make it 10x more difficult, but looking forward to it :)
The spinning ball effect is called the Magnus effect. Don't know enough about it to talk about it smartly here, but it's worth a google!
57:28 Yo Jake you alright? See your hand shake a bit there, hope it's just inflammation of muscle
Wren is such a nerd… and we love it!
I just tried the magnus effect in bullet cinema 4d dynamics and it works! just spin a sphere and give it a bit of lift, totally works.
Its no way physically accurate though, what does 10% lift mean? Nothing probably!
52:10 who says we're running in real time? Each timestep could be 10 billion years and to our brain it would still seem real time.
Finish the video with Nurk!! That'd be such a fun video
how did u download that lidar
the spin generating lift is why soccer balls can bend.
+1 on that scale video idea of "God's GPU" to run all the Sims of Earth at the same time.
"how do we take it further" SPACE TRICK SHOTS
The universe sim would have to us some sort of 'foveated' rendering for actual detail :P
When's the Spider version of this one Wren? Hehe
I guess My Cousin Vinny wouldn't work as a movie today.
Do you want ants? Because that is how you get ants!
👍👍
"God GPU", look up Dyson sphere. :)
That makes no sense. Those are two completely different things
@@clf400 you'll need a "big PC" structure or better yet a megastructure.
A Dyson sphere is one way of trying to get the power and data needed for doing unimaginable task.
i.e sim of of the observable universe aka "really".
made sense now?
@@Jack_Hinks no a Dyson sphere is just for power
@@clf400 and a GPU do not need power, or space..
plus due to the extra heat from the "work" the pc makes can go back in to the power system.
but my dude it seems u just wanna argue.
and i'm not here to educate or argue...
It's incredibly exhausting.
@Hagai Chan Look up a Matrioshka Brain. It's just a star-sized computer, which typicall includes a Dyson Sphere.
The airpods pros look so small on wren lmaoo.. I cam easily guess his height wtf
Reality has lag too.
WREEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNN ISSSSSSSSSSS AAAAAAAAAA WWWWAAAAAAARRIORS FAN wooooohooo
Now we pirate text books online for nothing!
First
I'm torn. Should we tell Wren the whole "3, 2, 1, Ahh!" scream is played out? Or do we keep indulging him?
Some high level blasphemy at the end of this pod. Great pod tho nonetheless, might need to sign up for that render farm
Imagine basing your entire life on an old book because your parents told you to
@@l_..l.l.__l..l8833 imagine not comprehending what the actual comment was and just basing your whole reaction on reading the word "blasphemy"
wait you guys have $250 Books? we need to stop American news not telecast around the world, we don't need everyone else copying it
people seriously need to get over this whole A.I vs Art . The genie is out of the bottle. The idea and story is matters way more the technical labor. technical labor is commoditized now. who cares, I look forward to the day i never have to key frame animate again. as Niko said, its about moving at the speed of thought!
i'm early!
