Before anyone uses synthetic dye, please watch my video on what happens after you use the dye so you can have an exact idea on how this goes before you do it!

Hope they do end up making an official one. Doing this is tempting too but the spider logos being inaccurate is definitely going to bother me
I was planning to get 2 Tobys so that works.
@@Diabolicalbydesign Got an extra Tobey for the same reason. But I’m not planning on taking the rest out their packaging so Ima have to make a custom “Marvel Legends Spider-Man 3 Venom Suit”
out of context this looks like you straight up cooking a figure 😂😂
this looks better than the other black suit figures! Well done!
Love the vibe of this vid man, keep up the incredible work!
Yo, Thank you for that!
Once I saw this lineup release ik I had to get an extra Tobey to replicate the venom suit. Thank you for the video! I was just gonna paint him😬
I’m definitely hoping for more, I honestly want venom and hobgoblin “new” goblin. I grew up with the same rami movies so I’m down for everything from those movies
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! thanks so much for putting this out and showing how easy it is. im definitely gonna try this out and add in the silver lines after :)))
Glad I can help! It does take some patience. If you have any questions please lmk
@@MikeysActionFigures562 will do thanks man 🙏
just read the new ultimate spider-man comic and his all black stealth suit is gonna be my first custom figure… i guess just dying the figure is all i really have to do
I tried dying the blue John Walker Captain America with yellow dye to turn him green. Want to make him a GI joe. Captain John Walker. Codename: Sideburns. If you're familiar with the figure you'll know why. The dye took everywhere and turned everything green but his torso. Which remains royal blue. I guess I can paint it. But I'd much rather dye it. Any ideas why it didn't take to the harder plastic and is there any way I can get the dye to take?
Some plastic takes longer to dye, I’ve had some parts dye instantly and some take literally and hour to sit. I’ve used different methods, if anything my most effective has been dye and paint so you get 0 paint rub and seal it so it never fades. I haven’t really perfected anything and there is 0 videos of others making this work
@@MikeysActionFigures562 I left it in the dye for 2 days continuously bringing it up to temperature. The torso only turned slightly teal. The arms the legs the helmet everything else turn the nice olive green. So at least I don't have to worry about any of the joints chipping. I just have to match the paint color for the torso. Your video definitely helped. Thanks
Dang, that's kind of cool, man! Definitely not perfect, but thanks for sharing this! Bet they do a black repaint. Maybe a store exclusive? I'm thinking like Walmart US agent or Amazon gray Deadpool? Come on Hasbro. Hook us up with that emo Pete head! 🤙
I really like what you did! I want to do this! I would also like to create my own version of a Noir SPIDER-MAN! Thanks!
Thank you!!!
I might be inclined to do this. Hit the webs with a molotow chrome marker and itd look real good
it didnt work for me my figure didnt dye and now my figures joints are melted and i had to paint it and the paint didnt look good
I have a video detailing the aftermath of dying figures tagged on this video. Hope this helps. But I’ve never seen joints ever get melted by this method. That’s wild
Did you have the heat too high? If not, could be something about the particular plastic. There are so many variables when dying figures it’s hard to know.
I’m a bit hesitant to do this to my SHF Venom because of the eyes and teeth.
Yeah I would be hesitant also cause imported figures have a whole different plastic, and they’re very expensive
You should mention bro that after drying the color gets away and it gets really bright! So is not really permanet! Why is that? My black figures looks like light grey right now.
You know what bro I just noticed that you are right, but I noticed it’s only with the legends. I pulled out my Gi joes I’ve dyed and they’re fine. I didn’t realize that the dye faded. I just looked at my Spider-Man and I can now see some of the red and blue coming back!
@@MikeysActionFigures562 that's not good bro. That happend to my especially to marvel legends rubber jackets suit.
@@thevenom5195 just made a video on it! thank you for pointing it out
It’s an ongoing chemical process. Dye is not a magical solution, there are many variables that can affect results, even over time. I’d just suggest researching it more thoroughly and learn some tips. Unfortunately every plastic is different, there’s no perfect answer.
🔥
Now I gotta find a Tobey Spider-Man
Now I gotta find a Tobey Spider-Man figure.
The marvel legends retro carded one
Only issue I’m having after dying my figure with synthetic dye is after painting the silver lines they end up getting stained and darkened by the dye even after days of being dried idk if it’s just me tho
Not sure if it’ll work, but maybe try giving the black dyed figure a top coat and then paint the silver on top of that coat. Might work
It’s an ongoing chemical process. I’d suggest at a minimum you wash and scrub the figure before and after dying, and before applying any paint.
Great tips man ! I did this to my tobey too. Only downside is it froze his butterfly joints in his shoulders 🤷🏻♀️. Do you know a good way to get them unstuck ?
Can you reheat it and carefully work them loose?
@@namelessjedi2242 Yes that is what I ended up doing about a month ago. I grabbed a 2 cup Pyrex with some water popped that in the microwave for a couple minutes then heald the top of the torso/shoulders in the water for a few minutes. Pulled it out and wiggled the shoulders back a forth. It did help a lot and only toke about 10 min in total !
Ps. if you encounter the dye of the figure starting to leech a bit soak the figure in a bowl of liquid laundry detergent and cool water it stops the figure from leeching dye. I did this and it seems to work good. ( I say this because I dyed some gi joe classified guns a they leeched over time.)
Sorry for the long reply lol !
does it have paint rubs?
No paint rubs! I plan to make a video on that
think i burnt my figure 🤣
😅😮 thats wild lol, I’ve never burnt a figure but it’s definitely possible when doing this stuff
Is the figure sticky? I dont want it sticky
Due should not leave a figure sticky, but I’d suggest researching how to dye figures more before trying it. There are a lot of considerations and tips, and it’s not a perfect magic solution.
