  • This may be the best Black Suit Spider-Man figure Hasbro has made but does that mean it's actually good based on its own merits or is it just good in comparison to mediocre, run-of-the-mill collectibles?

Now before buying any figure I wait for a review here before making any decisions. All I have to say is thank you for your honesty and helping us out... When it comes to the eyes and the hands, while they aren't comic accurate, they are accurate to the 90s cartoon, and as such I'm using this figure to represent that Spider-Man in my collection until the day comes where we get a proper figure of him.

    Pretty much agree with you on everything,it is the best black suit but that aint saying much the other ones are just okay at best,as far as the body id be happy with a lil sculpt detail at least if they keep reusing it what i do hate is the stupid torso joint i hate breaking the spider like that having those 2 point pf articulation reversed would look and work so much better,same with the new venom thats coming out and i mention this every time.

    Love that you mentioned liking the source material on the card a lot more and the spikey design on the legs as opposed to the one they gave the figure. Ive always preferred that design myself and Mark Bagley has the best comic art imo of the symbiote spidey, venom and carnage. In all honesty im not excited about this figure after seeing reviews and what it turned out to be. If they had nailed that look on the card I wouldn't hesitate to buy.
    Edit: articulation could also be much better im sure. my dream six inch version of this black suit spiderman would be the mcfarlane spiderman body maybe 10% more bulky with the bagley design

  • @rishav-2749
    @rishav-2749 Před 2 lety +6

    Definitely would love a better body or mods on this body-execute the double ball peg of the neck properly,remove that ugly cut behind his neck,add a waist cut,allow the drop down hips to have better rang, and lastly, add toe articulation (which they did with the upcoming Renew Your Vows 2-pack) for him to properly execute the 4 point crouch pose.

  • @sebastianurquidi6558
    @sebastianurquidi6558 Před 2 lety +7

    This body is fine for now and it’s certainly better than a lot of other Spider-Man bodies but if it’s ever redone I hope hasbro considers increasing elbow articulation, improving the double ball in the neck and replacing the ab crunch with another ball. Personally I really like the tasm 2 suit so if they include those features on the upcoming figure that would be a dream come true.

    I kinda wish they would use a ball joint for the waist with the ball joint torso instead of ab crunch. I think that would give him the best articulation. Also, fix that double ball neck. Just as you say, large ball in the neck and not seated so deep in the neck.

    Answering QOTD: I'm fine with this body, it's kinda one of their best.
    The biggest problems tho are his weird engineering in neck area and shoulders being too low.

      for the bubble, I use a knife to make a cut along the bottom, that way I can slide the plastic tray in or out, without hurting the look.
      if all you want is the card, take a knife and (carefully) cut along the edge of the bubble, where it Meets the cardboard. do that all along the edges and just take the plastic off, and you'll have a nice card back without plastic! hope that helps. 😊

    As ugly as the neck is, I really wish they just shortened the peg. Raise the ball in the double dumbbell up to the top of the neck, widen the bar. It doest fully fix the ugliness, but it would both increase the range and reduce the risk of snapping. Like, that double bar bell scares the hell out of me given how thin and flexible it is. Don’t get me wrong, its a WAY more sturdy feeling plastic than the first one, but its still garbage and restricts range like crazy. With all things considered though, I’m happy with it. Way more so than the first Retro Spidey

    This was a cash grab, they knew people would buy this and only gave us the minimum accessories with the 3 sets of hands. They totally could have budgeted in some web lines.
    Would also love an update video on your Rival Clans line, I know it's a slow process, but any updates would be nice.

    Hasbro says thats its the black costume spiderman, so its ok if they put it on the worst body mold i will sell well.

  • @graefx
    @graefx Před 2 lety +2

    I dont like this mold. The torso in particular I prefer the other way, hinge neck, diaphragm crunch, swivel waist. But I actually like this figure, being solid black fixes so many issues I had with the retro and the build feels more appropriate to the symbiote. The head is a push, it's fine. Even though the old sandman baf head looks out of scale for this body, it just looks aesthetic better especially in the eye shape. And yeah hand mark should be a trapezoid not a square. Overall, it'll be my black suit figure and there's some older accessories that look good with it like the bearded Peter head.

    I am ok with this body, but it still does not feel ideal for a Spider-man. The arms cant reach higher without rotating either the shoulder joint or the bicep swivel. Those drop-down hinges in the hips do not provide any major help in the articulation.

    I am okay with this body design, but the neck feels like such a rookie design. IDK who okayed that, and that would be something I would expect to see on a late 90's or early 00's figure. Terrible.

    I despise the legs, it doesn't make any sense for his quads to be that bulbous and warped and for the obliques to be that big it looks like abeer belly, this all feels like a design disaster

  • @shauntothemaxx5639

    The body is not good. I remember when the original one hit with the new body. It's like they'll go one step forward, two step back. It's like... ok, sloppily implemented diaphragm joint. Cool. Cut the accessories in half. Do nothing with the hips. I bought it. Was so disappointed with the original, I gave the figure to a friend who couldn't find it and sold the rest of my Spiderman collection because they kept, purposefully, half-assing every figure. The stupid part is, people act like this figure is the second coming of Christ...

    I personally feel the arms and legs of the body are fine but the torso needs some reworking in order to have more effective articulation.

  • @sempai4056

    I really enjoyed the body mold of the Spider Armor MK1 Spider-Man. I felt the body was most apporiate for Spidey. Maybe Hasbro can take inspiration from that mold and make an upgraded Pizza Spidey body with better articulation and more accessories as well, like alternate heads and web effects.

  • @jesusdavidmartinezsilveyra3983

    I saw this figure in the pegs, I knew it was going to be hard to get, I skipped it because I hated the retro one so much, terrible and so over rated.

  • @dalejones7450

    Why the heck does he have thwip hands the webline comes from on top of the fist out of the white rectangle part. His thighs are to big and the white spider logo needs to come down to allow for the spiders mandibles.

    • @RIME387
      @RIME387 Před 2 lety

      Because in the comics, after he got rid of the alien suit, Black Cat gave him a cloth version of the black suit, but with that one he obviously needed his web shooters, so he was still doing the twipping pose to shoot his webs.
