- This is part of the huge press tour that Jimmy and Robert did to promote their Unledded release and tour. This press conference is held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Tokyo Japan on November 11th, 1994.

Around 8:12 I love Jimmy's laugh. I missed it the first few time but, it cracked me up tonight :)
Robert Plant's career was at a quiet point by the early 90s. A lot of people did not like his, as Robert put it in an interview: "80's sh*t." Jimmy's stuff in the 80s was not great in my opinion and who ever came up with the concept for the Outrider album cover should have been permanently unemployed. They were out again trying to sell their product, and unlike the 70s that was one success after another, they were middle aged with a sketchy recent history. It must have been frustrating, I remember in an interview Robert was complaining about always having to go "pan in hand" begging for an audience with a new release.

You can tell Jimmy and Robert are just enjoying the hell out of this. LoL More like, they'd rather be doing just about anything else in the WORLD than be at this particular Japanese translated press conference! If not for Roberts upbeat sense of 'humour' this, I'm sure, would have been a complete and total disaster for one and all. ;o)

Jimmy was never comfortable in the interviews. But he feels comfortable in Japan in general. He has a great emotional connection with Japan, I know that.

I think he’d be more comfortable, if he had his guitar in his hands, but then he’d breakout playing it. With this interview, that wouldn’t be a bad thing.

The "lost in translation" here is not just in languages, much more about cultural differences. Japanese are serious (proper) people, humor is discouraged, unappreciated and easily misunderstood especially in a foreign language. Conformity and uniformity are big, creativity or individualism not so much. The young ones do, however, idolize American (western) arts, music in particular. I think Robert and Jimmy behaved as well as could be expected considering the awkward questioning and format.

Robert is more comfortable I think having been the frontman, & a more extrovert. Jimmy & JPJ seemed more introverted, unless comfortable around who they’re with. Jimmy uses his guitar to do his talking, he can make that thing talk & sing.
So funny; laughed all the time. At 3:07 Synchrony level expert :both rise glasses at the same time. 35:00 Jimmy lays his head on the table - wishing to be far, far away from there. Bloody hell! Best part Rob sort says... well Jimm´s got relatives living in Japan; he had a good time here last time buying bootlegs f* amazing. Give Jimmy a guitar and let Rob sing, for God´s sake!

I've seen a few of these press conferences with Plant & Page and they're pretty damn fun to watch. I like the 1994 press conference in Australia, which is pretty funny too. I think Robert Plant answered the question about JP Jones in several ways. What I get from his answers is he and Page are on the same page, no pun intended, musically and JP Jones isn't. If you watch their concerts, Plant defers to Page a lot. I get the feeling these two have a pretty good working relationship as well as a friendship. I think they know not including JP Jones looks bad but it is what it is. Frankly, I'm sick of the JP Jones questions and, I don't think the reporters care that much anyway except to cause controversy. Anyway, if you ask most of us, we can watch these two talk all day.
Sorry, I have to respond to my own comment. Sometimes, I'm in the mood for a concert. Other times, I have to watch their press conferences. God, these two are crazy and so damn funny. Both display a sense of humor, as well as intelligence. I like good looking rock stars but, I like smart and funny men even more. I love this press conference, must have more :)

..alot of those Zeppelin songs, Robert Plant wouldn't be able top or match at this point, not in the same style or without at least changing parts of the songs anyway. It took everything he had to perform them at those heights even when he was in his 20's. It would be ridiculous to try to complete with ones Younger self as Nothing remains the same much less the Song when performed live, one cannot stay at those heights forever any more than one can stay 25 forever, it's an unrealistic goal or expectation.🔥 🌌

When something is unleaded, such as gas-o-line for example, other various heavy metals replace it, and or are mixed in, such as mercury, barium, irons, and other toxins. It is a great pun. If the air was not so heavy with toxins/pollution, we could all be flying around in it.
