- After the United Methodist held their General Conference in 2024, they have been shedding members. In the latest news, the Ivory Coast is gone as well as other parts of the world. What is going to happen after they destroyed their standards.
Baptist historian here, so I have seen the history of the Methodists entertwined with our history. So sad. I am praying for faithful, biblical Methodists as they go forward with Jesus and leave the apostates behind.

Thank you for your firm and Biblical podcast. I left the UMC 2 years ago when I saw them denying Biblical truth. My husband stayed because he loves his church friends. As of yet I have no church. By the way he is 93. I am 89. I hope to find a church soon. In the meantime I love God and his holy inerrant Word. I would never ever set foot again in the UMC.

It is so hard. I’m a Lutheran. The ELCA showed apostasy decades ago. My first actual church was the new ELCA and had a married woman pastor. BTW she was wonderful, but I moved away and then the church started being questionable besides. That was decades ago. The ELCA openly “came out” with every other MSC. We tried a MO Synod. It’s ok but the riots came and though they disguised it a bit, the whole synod felt the need like everyone else to put some pandering self-conscious self-righteous affirmation up publicly about supporting DIE. You can’t fully trust any church.

Greetings Pastor John from a Scottish Baptist.
The Church of Scotland - traditionally the largest denomination here - was formed in 1560. In 2008 a church appointed a practising homosexual as its minister, a decision ratified by the 2009 General Assembly. This decision for ' inclusivity ' will end off including nobody. On current trends the church will cease to exist in 2040. If you're interested there's an excellent recent video on the 'Ready to Harvest ' CZcams channel.
But God, it seems, is not finished with Scotland. There are new Bible believing churches springing up: in my own Baptist denomination, in the Presbyterian Free Church of Scotland and amongst independent groups.
May the Lord bless His faithful people who have been made spiritually homeless by the decisions of the UMC. May they flourish in new contexts. God Bless America.
Great to hear from you! I believe the devil is busy trying to tear down the church, but no matter how many times the church dies, it gets resurrected. We serve the savior who knows the way out of the grave. Praying for you in Scotland. I know God is not finished there and I bless the new Bible believing churches God is raising up. For the UMC it is all "about the Benjamins" They just proved that to be a fact.
Me and my family left the UMC last year because the church voted to stay in the UMC. That left 10 members in that church ,the other members left . Now there are homosexuals attending that church that are serving there . The preacher and his wife are supported of the homosexual lifestyle . They call it Love Is Love and they should be with who they love . So glad we left that church . The way they see it is we are not going to change so we will change the church . We are in a real church now and very happy .

The result of these God-defying actions will be death - of the soul ( Romans ch6 v2:: ‘for the wages of sin is death…’ and Mathew ch 10 v28 tells us not to fear people who can only kill the body, but to FEAR God who once He has killed the body is able to cast the soul into HELL!

I have. I attend a Baptist Church and we’re gaining former UMC members. There are three former UMC couples in my Bible Study Class as well.

Many have. The UMC prevented many from leaving even though they said they would allow it. The UMC lied.
We we lucky as we disaffiliated in 2023. We followed the process but had our back up plan just in case. The church property was never put in deed to the UMC trust so we still owned the property outright.
If they had denied us we would have simply walked away and told them to sue us. We followed the high road and followed the process.

What u r describing goes far beyond these boundaries which individuals are according to you r witnessing in a "Christian setting " across America which is not acceptable under Biblical standards. Worldwide it becomes more of a different outlook. Pretty bad when the monk, what's his name,oh Martin Luther during the time he existed made it quite clear that the Jewish people, imagine this, every trace of their influence, culture, identity should not be acknowledged because of not accepting Biblical truth and standards. We do not hate homosexuals. We just believe it is a sin, as the bible clearly says it is, and don't agree that a church that follows the bible and the teachings of God should condone it let alone support it. Everyone is invited to attend our church but our leaders cannot be homosexuals and we will not allow homosexual marriage as it is not marriage per the bible. Homosexual marriage is a civil (non- religious) union by the state.
Based on that the UMC failed on all levels and will probably lose more than have their members.
“Sexual deviants?” I’m afraid your position is clear. Jesus commands us to love one another, not just sexually straight persons.
Loving people means telling them the truth. The choice to engage in this behavior will lead people to hell. I do not want that for them. That's why I say what I do. Praying for you.
Jesus also said repent of your sins. We are all sinners and need to work every day to repent against our sins. We will sin until the day we die but we should work to be the best Christians we can be every day. The path the UMC took not only goes against this but it says sin all you want. It is OK and we support you in committing your sins.
@@greglane3978 I’m not convinced the Mosaic prohibitions listed in, for example, Leviticus, represent sins especially after Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. I think many of these prohibitions were meant to help get Israelites across the wilderness. Context and history are important.
The Bible clearly teaches that all sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin! It is a shame that the Methodist church allowed people inside their churches to approve perversions and encouraged them to do so and then put these people in leadership positions. The Bible is clear in what it teaches. Gods word does not change and his word is to be obeyed. Sodom & Gomorrah can attest to that!!!
I do not understand how people who are not LGBT or not fornicators or not adulterers are so worried about those who are. I have not heard any contemporary examples of a wrathful God choosing to rain down brimstone on a church for having people that certain self righteous members believe are evil. Remove your plank, then talk to others about their speck.
I am worried about these people, as well as many others, who refuse to repent and believe the gospel. If you love someone, you will warn them of the judgment. Everyone will stand before God and if they have not repented and believed the gospel, an eternal hell awaits. Praying for you that you find God's grace before that day.

Yes or No
Jesus acknowledged 7 of His churches in Rev 2-3. The word used in Rev 2:7 and other places is the plural of church in this instance the (Holy) Spirit is also acknowledging the churches. The greek word used here is ἐκκλησίαις. It is also used in its plural in Cor and Gal. and Thes. Yes it is one body in Christ, but they are clearly different churches and apparently different functions in the body as directed by Him. Further note, in each church, if they are doing well, or not or in-between, there is opportunity to the members in those churches for reward.
We are all sinners including Catholics and leadership of the Catholic church.
Anything run by common man can run afoul. That includes the Catholic church, it's members and leadership. The Pope is selected by common men. How do common men select another man they consider infallible?
The UMC just proved my point as well.
Indulgencies, the Spanish inquisition and priest molesting children with a church cover up are some examples of things Catholics should not be proud of, however repenting for these actions is the true salvation.
When it comes right down to it what kind of life do you live? Words are cheap. Actions count.
Here is the good news. There will he no more sinners in any church. I would bet this guy is a Trump supporter.

Here's the really good news. Everyone is a sinner on the way to hell, but Jesus Christ came to pay for our sins. Anyone who repents and places their faith in Him will be saved. You won't be made perfect but over time the Holy Spirit will work in your life and you will sin less. I'm praying for you that God will open your eyes and you will come into the kingdom of God.
do you live in Springfield? I grew up in that church behind you--my parents and my family were charter members. I am no longer a Methodist, and it's heartbreaking but I could see this 20 years ago.
Yes. I've been in that church many times in the past. Who knows, I may have even met you at some point. It is heartbreaking to see the church adopt Satan's agenda. Keep praying for the lost and the deceived.
