  • This is an updated tutorial on How to Stretch Videos in Movavi Video Editor. In this demo, I will show you how to stretch a 4:3 aspect ratio video to a 16:9 aspect ratio video. One way to covert a 4:3 video to a 16:9 video is to use the Crop tool in Movavi.
    However, using this method, you will lose some of the content in the video. If you’d like keep all the content and just stretch the video, you will need to Stretch the video. In order to do so, follow these steps:
    (1) add a plain background image to one of the video tracks in Movavi; (2) next, add the 4:3 aspect ratio MP4 video on another track (over top of the background image); (3) adjust the background image to cover the duration of the video; (4) right-click on the video and choose Tools and then Overlay; (5) you will then need to adjust the video (in the Preview section) to fit the blue background; (6) finally, render the video by using the Export button.
    If you’d like to use Movavi Video Editor, you can download a free version from the link below, however, bear in mind that it is limited in terms of functionality and features.

    Can you explain to me how can I convert a 4:3 ( non streched ) video to a 4:3 streched? I play cs2 on 4:3 streched aspect ratio, but for some reason sometimes when I record a video with shadowplay, it isn't streched anymore. I have tried to fix that but couldn't do anything about it so how can I convert the 4:3 nonstreched video to 4:3 streched? I know there's a way to do that I just don't know how. Also I have tried every nvidia settings to make it that it records streched videos, but for some reason it doesn't work for long. If I stay ingame then it will work but if I close the game, join back then it won't work anymore and I have to change bunch of settings before it works again, and I really cba do that every single time I launch the game

      Hi there, apologies for not being able to respond sooner. It's been a busy past week and am catching up on my CZcams comments and questions today. First of all, I don't play CS2 so I'm not very familiar with the settings, but will do my best to help.
      That being said, before I do, I just want to clarify a couple of things: (1) What screen recording software are you using when recording game-play? (2) when you're running the 4:3 (stretched) resolution for CS2, does it display the vertical black bars at the sides or not? I guess this would depend on the resolution of your monitor.
      As far as I know, the settings for 4:3 (stretched) resolution for CS2 are as follows...
      The first settings are in CS2:
      (1) Launch CS2; (2) go to "Settings" and select the "Video" tab; (3) set the "Aspect Ratio" option to "Normal 4:3"; (4) click on "Apply Changes" in the bottom-right corner of the screen; (5) if you get the vertical black bars on either side of the screen, you can stop there. If not, you will need to adjust a few more settings on your graphics card.
      You said you're using NVIDIA, so below are the changes to settings you may need to make:
      (1) Access the NVIDIA Control Panel; (2) go to "Display" and select "Adjust Desktop Size and Position"; (3) for the "Select a Scaling Mode" option choose "Aspect Ratio"; (4) select "Display" for the "Perform Scaling On" option; (5) enable "Override the Scaling Mode Set by Games and Programs" and click on Apply; (6) if you want the black bars removed, select "Full-screen" instead of "Aspect Ratio" for the "Scaling Mode" option.
      I'm not sure if I fully understood exactly what you were trying to do, but I hope this helps...cheers!

      @AnthonyGodinho  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi there, what options do you see? In the previous version of Movavi video editor, you could just double-click on the video (in the timeline) to get those handles to adjust and stretch the video. Are you able to use the double-click option to get the handles?

      @AnthonyGodinho  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi there, I'm sorry, I'm still not understanding. 1280x1024 is 5:4 aspect ratio, so you want to change it to 16:9 or 9:16? I've never heard of 19:16 aspect ratio. Can you please clarify?

    Just in case someone tries to find the option, it's now called Position instead of Overlay in the newer versions. Thanks for the video!

      You're welcome! And thanks much for sharing about the Overlay now renamed to Position in the new version of Movavi video editor.
