    Excellent rundown, thanks!
    I can report, from my interchangeable setup, that both Presonus 26c (live sets) and the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen (experimental studio use) work flawlessly on my MPC One. No clicks or pops from either interface while recording or playback in 32 channel input mode.
    One thing to note is that I don’t track through plug-ins or anything that taxes the MPC while recording.
    Tefty’s point on latency while processing sound on external gear and resampling to the MPC is very real. So once the resampling is done is just a process of nudging the recorded audio back a couple of milliseconds, no big deal.
    Recording and resampling all kinds of live instruments and live Vocals to the MPC through guitar pedals has been very inspiring to me in the last couple of years, and the MPC’s interface support as it is today has been flawless in my personal experience.

    I too updated my mpcx audio interface to a MOTU M4 for the pres and better converters. Had it for two years now. I really like it.

    I use the regular Volt 476. Opens up a lot more options than the standard MPC One routing.

    Nice guitar playing. My biggest feature request for an MPC Two would be a mic preamp and a send and return.

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  Před rokem +1

      Yep, would be a killer setup if it came that way out of the box.

  • @JeffHopkinsMusic
    @JeffHopkinsMusic Před rokem +9

    It they just let you set your own buffer size, pops and clicks wouldn't be an issue.

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  Před rokem +2

      Hoping for a future update that gives those options. Not sure if Akai is willing to invest in further support though.
      I've found even with the DAW software version it requires a high buffer to guarantee no clicks/pops.

    • @JeffHopkinsMusic
      @JeffHopkinsMusic Před rokem +2

      If you don't mind going down the Linux rabbit hole, modified firmware etc., there's some people out there who have compiled a custom middleware ALSA kernel module where you can change the buffer size on the MPC already. It made my Expert Sleepers ES-9 workable without pops as long as I don't throw 8 different giant reverbs on at the same time

    Well, I went for tascam model 16! Despite your awesome video, I feel the tactile controls of the tascam/ more channels, and nice built in recorder is a no brainer. If the One can't handle recording, I still have the built in recording of the Tascam. For the price to have a full 16 audio channel interface, hard to do better. I'm also pretty sure this is a better option for true dawless. If I ever step up to the MPC X se, I'm a step ahead. Thus far though, MPC ONE has not proved to be trustworthy on count of many crashes after just two full weeks of owning it. Must be something specific to my setup. Maybe, the expansion I downloaded? Maybe, the SD micro card? Who knows. All and all though, it is growing on me and I want to love the MPC UI/environment. It's been my goal to make MPC the central hub of dawless/semi dawless setup.

    The perfect solution would be USB audio interface for MPC with 10 MIDI outputs and inputs! Don't really care about more than 4 channels of audio but MIDI makes all sense!

      Grab a MIO XL. They don't currently work with the Key 37, but I believe the companies are working on a fix for that.

    I've been following your channel for some time now precisely because of connecting audio cards with mpc one+. Thank you for the information, and my question is what do you think about connecting Arturia audiofuse 16rig with mpc one+. Could it work multi-channel because Arturia is both a standalone mixer and an audio interface. Many greetings from Croatia, Tomi.

  • @angelfmusic
    @angelfmusic Před 5 měsíci

    I want audio over usb cable. Not the Tascam model 12 route. 1 usb cable from synth connects to a hub then the hub to Mpc and it’ll read both midi and audio. The fantom, and motif support this feature.

    Hey. Great channel bro. Question. Can I use a guitar pedal on a midi channel with this set up? Like if I wanted to add effects to lead chops or something?

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  Před 11 měsíci

      Thank you! And yes, just make sure to route your chops out to 3-4 and have an audio channel in the MPC monitor the input (which would probably be 3-4 as well)

    I bought a UA Volt 4 specifically for this reason and when I plugged it in, I wasn’t able to get sound to come out of outputs 3/4. I tried restarting the MPC while it was plugged in, tried updating software, still no sound out of 3/4. Is there some kind of setup that you had to do to get it to send out of 3/4?? Any tips?

    • @ArrakisOCE
      @ArrakisOCE Před 4 měsíci

      You need to route outputs via software - typically your DAW and if not, at least your basic interface software. If you don't have a DAW or the interface software doesn't provide this for some strange reason, there would be free VST/plugin loaders you can get along with an I/O routing plugin. It sounds like you may need to research basic I/O routing though which will help you a great deal.

    Hello Tefty. Tell me please what is the advantage of Akai Mpc one+ over Akai mpc live 2? It is important for me to get their new hardware plugins for free such as Jura(juno synth), Model D, etc.. or other benefits included..

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  Před rokem +3

      MPC One and One+ have more direct buttons if you like that sort of thing. The Live 2 has speakers and a battery (and bigger pads). I can make the exact same beats on either device, so just depends on which form factor you prefer.
      In terms of the plugins, really depends if you think you'd actually use them. I use them all the time, but I could see others preferring samples or hardware synths over the plugins exclusively.

    • @user-sx2iw2hq3l
      @user-sx2iw2hq3l Před rokem

      Thank you for your extended answer. but now I'm talking about something else. We know that all new Akai tool plugins are paid and cost a lot. Is it possible to get one of them for free when buying Mpc one+ or Live2?

  • @TZMottotube

    I can't tell how you have the MPC plugged into the UA ? or is it MPC to EVNTD to UA?

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  Před 11 měsíci

      The UA either goes into a USB hub or directly into the MPC USB host port (not the computer port). If going into a hub, then the hub goes directly to the MPC. This allows for other synths to be connected via USB.
