Likely to be a slower year for the switch? You mean Nintendo is finally breaking out of its old habit of releasing a new console with games for die hard Nintys and no content suitable for everyone? I'm not holding my breath, and I don't recommend you do either.
Getting ready for Mario Kart 9 Splatoon 4, ARM 2, Metroid Prime 4, Pikmin 5 and the next and 7th Super Smash Bros game.
An 8-inch screen is good news for people who want more power; a powerful chipset would mean a bigger battery, a bigger battery would mean a bigger unit, and a bigger unit would need a bigger screen to get rid of bezels.
I think Nintendo has two potential ways of approaching the Switch 2; a "portable" mindset or a "power" mindset. A "portable" mindset could use a newer low-wattage chip that would make the console more portable and produce less heat, which means they could get rid of the cooling fan and put it in the dock. The cons for this is that it would be more of a handheld than a home console, and it would be a major technical hurdle for newer games to be ported there.
However, if they keep the same "make it big" approach of the original Switch (which is massive compared to a 3DS), we might be seeing some PS5 and XS games ported over. If this is the approach, I can see the original Switch having one last model that's more pocket-friendly, as both could co-exist because of the Switch 2's size. I think this is the best approach because this thing will not only compete with the PS5, but it might compete with the PS6 for a good chunk of its lifetime.
I think that's pretty smart because, assuming the console is going to cost $400, their biggest competitor in the handheld market is the Steam Deck, and because of its x86 architecture, it's way beefier than a Switch. I expect the Switch 2 to be larger, but not as big as a Steam Deck; comparing a Switch 1 to a Switch 2 would be like comparing an iPad Mini with an iPad Air.
However, if it's truly an 8-inch I expect a 1080p resolution. If it's anything like the PlayStation Portal's screen (also 8" 1080p LCD), then not many people will miss the OLED screen much. Plus, there's room to grow for the inevitable upgrade around the PS6's launcn window.
I really hope its not a Partner Showcase. Those are honestly the least interesting types of Directs. I just really hope he's wrong.

When was the last Partner Showcase anyways? We had a lot of those during COVID but right now there's only Directs and Indie Worlds.

More RAM 16g and Storage 256-512 would go along way. But having a T239 with DLSS/RT would go along way to get AAA games coming to Switch 2.

I think Nintendo could go in the direction of a Super Switch! I'm definitely an older gamer(46) but I still remember those halcyon days of the SNES and Genesis. There were so many incredible games. The music was out of this world. That Yamaha sound chip was definitely utilized to the max by some absolutely genius composers. A home console type of machine would not be disappointing in my view.

Nice and clear voice, my english not very well, but i can clearly heard every word you said.
I hope it has some sort of vr. smartphone head sets showed that it is possible but hard at a high fidelity. vr is one of those things you have to see your self but the price stops most. ps4 vr was the most fun ive had since ps2/3 gen. Even at a low res I can;t put into words what its like to have a game presented like real life.

I seem to be in the mimority not to care too much about the Switch 2.. same as always.. if it has games I wanna play I´ll get it.. until then.. the Switch is more than enough for me with all the great games on it. I certainly hope so. I guess that there's going to be a period of around 2 years where the Switch will still be supported with ports and indies. I don't think they're going to discontinue the Switch anytime soon. More of a reason for backwards compatibility.

I wanted to get switch but yesterday was a MARIO day and I said to mysel I'll get the console and few discounted mario games, but the fact that they didn't even put any mario games on sale in their eshop tells me everything about this company so no I won't buy anything from this greedy company.
