  • A video about putting in some fence poles to expand my raised bed area. With the mild winter we have a large population of young deer with no fear lately.

    I am so sorry.l must be the only person in the world that finds a video of someone working their tail off, relaxing! Thank you so much for taking the time you do, to make and post them. My other comment is, where was you tube when I was doing this sort of stuff? Videos are well made and perfect for someone like me who is hard of hearing.
    Thank you again and keep them coming. PLEASE!!
    Rod

      Thanks. Just sharing some ideas about how I tackle projects around the home. I have severe hearing loss and Costco is a great place to find affordable hearing aids that work good. Thanks for watching.

    Everyone should own a Kreg jig and set. One of the handiest things I own for DIY stuff. Nice vid, I employed it. Have a nice weekend

    Man, I wish my auger would go down so easily as the ground dries. Great workaround for the unit!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 7 lety

      The ground is saturated and that helps like you said. I got a big surprise when I bought it and thought I could just take it home throw it on the tractor, but it was a fairly easy fix. Thanks for watching.

    Everything is coming together nicely!! Good work. My next this to purchase is going to have to be a kubota or a deere tractor around the same size as you. Now only to convince the wife 😳

      A tractor with a loader is a real time saver. The older you get, the more you need one. Good luck with convincing the wife.

    Great Work. Are your posts 4x4x8? What size wood are your rails? The wire fencing what guage is that and is it 4ft? And last but not least for your wood raised beds do you have a video showing how u make them? If not what size wood do you use.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 6 lety

      Just 4"x4"x8' pt posts with 2x6 bottom rail and 2x4 top rail.It is 4 ft Red Brand fence from Tractor Supply. The wood beds were made about 5 years ago just using untreated 2x8 and the wood will have to be replaced soon. Thinking about trying to make concrete replacements. I dug down another 6 inches below the wood so there is a foot of compost / topsoil mix in the beds. Can't wait for spring.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 7 lety

      The fencing wood is. The beds are untreated and will have to be replaced soon. The new beds are aluminum pool wall extrusions. There is a video about making them. Thanks for watching.

    do you save the seeds from the plants the deer go after, and go scatter those seeds in the forest for the animals to go feed on instead of your garden?

    i liked all of ur video-but one thing u didn't show that i was interested in was what kind of jig u used to make them screw holes on ur 2by4's? i have seen holes being made like that with some sort of jig tool, just wondering what ya used for urs.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 7 lety

      I just used the standard kreg r3 jig and drill that I have in my shop. They have a new HD kreg jig that allows the use of larger screws for outdoor projects now that I would like to get someday. Sorry I didn't show it, it is much easier then trying to use nails but the screws are not cheep. Thanks for watching.

    What was the long black arm on the auger head reaching toward the back wheel of the tractor? Don't recall ever seeing one of those. Great video as always, thanks for sharing.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 7 lety

      It allows you to rock the auger tip to get started in the right spot. The auger goes down on a arc so you have to start it at a slight angle and it straightens up as it goes down. Thanks for watching.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      It is mostly weeds. That were there when we bought it. In the spring it is a yellow field of dandelions. The cyclone rake makes it look better then it really is. Thanks for watching.

    How many more toys do you have stashed away at your place? I noticed several videos back you have a few cars in one of your out buildings....are you saving them or waiting for good weather to appear?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Před 7 lety +1

      I'm getting down there on old toys. Been selling a lot of them on craigslist the last couple of years to raise money for new tools. Looks like the Harley and pontoon boat will go next. The old Biscayne is a future project and the vette will be sold to help finance the 66 Biscayne Redo. Both only have a little over 40k miles. Glad that I bought my toys years ago when prices were low.
