- Welcome to our fourth P&O Arvia Caribbean cruise series vlog! Today, P&O Arvia is in Martinique and we've got an exciting day planned as we've booked another excursion with Caribbean Island Tours on Facebook: / caribbeanislandtours
Todays excursion takes us around the south coast of Martinique and includes the following stops:
We visit at the "village de la poterie" (potter village) before we have a chance to snorkle at Beach Anse d'arlet . After that we head to the view point for "Rocher du diamant" and then try shots of rum at rum factory "Trois-Rivieres". To end the day we visit the stunning beach of "Les Salines" before finally return via the south-western coast.
Back onboard we spend some more time at the swim up bar before heading to the Glass House for dinner - we also witness the spectacular pop up show in the main atrium.

We are bananas about cruising! We started cruising in 2014 by doing a mini cruise on P&O Aurora. Making videos of our cruises and sharing our experiences has become our hobby - the complete video is filmed and edited on an iPhone. The videos are our opinions and experiences while on board - really they are us having fun and brining you along with us!
We may not be the youngest cruisers but we are trying to break the stereotype that cruising is for retired people. On a cruise you will normally find us wondering around the ship taking in the atmosphere (and working our way through the cocktails).
We have sailed on P&O Cruises, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Avalon Waterways. We'd love to try Ambassador Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Fred Olsen, Holland America (HAL), Celebrity, Disney Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Costa, Aida, Marella and Celestyal.

Great vlog. Guys as usual…when we went to Martinique the queues for the ferry were so long for lots of people…so we walked to the dockside and there were local guys offering boat tours…this was Xmas Eve….no other option for us ..think it was £50pp..what a blast…they took us too areas to swim…natural coves with turquoise waters…music blasting…rum punches..another boat pulled alongside and came aboard with a Xmas bottle of local rum and we all drank to celebrate…then .we raced another speedboat across the ocean…was worth every Penny ..but I was very squiffy after….best xmas eve I will remember ❤️
Thank you! Oh fantastic, yeah the rum seems to flow freely over there and they are so friendly! Don’t think they allow you to end the excursions sober 🤣

He was a lovely Pup! Hahahaha, yes, the Christmas podge and cruises have caught up with us, so were trying to be health (and even off the drink) until our next cruise... thankfully that's a week tomorrow! hahaha :)

Glad you found it interesting. Food was very good. Can’t remember numbers, not full but very near, can’t remember what was said in the talk, want to say around 4800, the cruise after us was full as we met someone who wanted to stay on (they’d been on since Christmas, buying the next cruise towards the end of each cruise at a reduced price).
Love you guys. I’ve never been on a cruise but want to book up now. Do you have to buy a food package or is it all included?
Awww thank you! Cruises are full board, so all your food is included in the buffets and main dining rooms. Tea, coffee and juices included from self serve buffet too.
What you pay for in most cases is drinks at bars or speciality dining - for these you can pay as you go or buy a package. Lots of choices of cruise lines that all offer different things, big ships, little ships, formal or not formal etc 😀
That tour of the island looked amazing! Do you book direct and how much would that tour cost? ❤️
We booked Martinique tour via m.facebook.com/groups/caribbeanislandtours/ - it was €80 per person. Owena runs the group and organises it all! We also booked St Kitts and St Marten through her, all fab tours. You pay a small deposit and the rest is cash to the guide. Great local tours! At Lucia and Barbados we did book through p&o.

Luv the rum, I can't believe the ship went to sleep so early was it like that every night? Was the age group on board more like us than you?
Wish you were onboard with us! Yes, other than the formal night, most nights the disco was closed down by 1am. Think many were enjoying themselves in the sun during the day or up and off the ship for excursions. A good mix of ages with most in their 50s and 60s.

I can't remember if I've already asked this but how late are the pools/swim up bar open? Also what time was it roughly when you were in it in the video?
From memory, pools were open 8am to 8pm. The swim up bar was open till around 11pm. We'd often go there late afternoon and never had issues finding a seat, this would have been between 6:00-7:00pm as we would go there before heading back to the room to change. Hope that helps :)
