This was one of the most beautiful approaches I've ever seen. Must be super scary with the fog.
Great job.
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! For us pilots, the approach was not scary. Just the ship was something which we really did not expect. So we were very surprised about it.
Exciting intensity of a foggy approach is hard to equal. Thanks for the thrill.
Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
amazing landing by the ap! the fog was something
Yes, I agree, the autopilot did a nice landing!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Might be because PF slowly retarded thrust reducing fpm more than if you at/thr just idles it automatically?
That was impressive.
Thanks for watching and your good feedback!
That is a lot of thick fog. Good to have the auto land option in those situations :)
I agree! Thanks to the engineers who developed the autopilot with autoland capability
I remember watching the full version of this one, what a view of that cargo boat in the fog, so beautiful, but also i imagine so worrying for you with all the extra work.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your feedback! Have a nice day!
Wow, this one’s really impressive. Thank you very much
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! Have a nice day!
CAT 3 DUEL amazing aircraft and pilots.👍
Thank you very much!
Not very often you get to do a landing on AP1. very nice
Thanks for watching and your feedback!
Always fun to see autoland in action
Thanks for watching and your feedback!
When you are using the reversers there, prior to vacating you removed them from reverse idle? Did you use any reversers on this landing, and if not why do you go to reverse idle and not just idle? What is the reason for this procedure?
We used idle reverse on this landing. Standard procedure for all landings is to use idle reverse as a minimum. This helps decelerating the plane better than idle forward thrust. If we need a higher deceleration rate, we use maximum reverse.
Thanks for your quick reply! Is that Airbus procedure or your company procedure? I don't know if I've seen it done in other videos / landings from other operators. @@ApproachandDepartureVideos
@@NickF14 This is standard Airbus procedure. Unless the reversers are inoperative, we always have to set the reversers to idle reverse as a minimum for landing.
If the landing was not automatic, I believe it was not possible due to poor visibility, isn't it? Happy Holidays to the whole crew.
Thanks for watching and your good wishes! The approach lights came first in sight above the CAT 1 minimum, but they disappeared again until we were below the CAT 1 minimum. That means for us that it was only possible to do an autoland approach. All the best to you!
More or less landed 75 ton machine in the cloud
The machine landed itself in the cloud!
