Have you coveted Sda yet‽
I left this cult, and found out there are good people.
So glad to hear you're out Janelle, wishing you all the best my friend. 😘
-A random girl in Pittsburgh PA
So glad you found a way out, Jenelle! How are you these days?
Wishing you the best Jenelle
So glad you escaped stay strong I’ve just read Rachel’s book
Wow last name Jessop...
Imagine how smart you have to be to be raised in this stunted environment and STILL be able to protect yourself even half as well as this woman did. Incredibly impressive, her mind served her well
I know I don't have the mental fortitude that she has and had!
Yes exactly!
The LIGHT in her mind, was God whom saved her!
No man can save himself, or any one for that matter. 💜
Through God's Grace, Alone.
By faith, Alone.
In Christ Jesus, Alone.
Shall we be saved, Alone.
Amen. 🕊️🙇🕊️. 🩸📖🩸
It’s amazing how men can rebrand their lust as a religious duty
Yaasss
These men seem to be able to uphold these particular beliefs with NO problems!?
Since Ancient Times.
@7 Haunted Days What a massively sweeping statement you just dropped, dead end comment.
Which sounds like blue balls. They HAVE TO have sex or else they'd die or something
Thank God they excluded black people!! Their racism protected us. So glad we were never part of this mess 🤦🏾 I pray the rest will be rescued. Thanks for sharing your story. Love from a fellow sister in Christ 💕
The problem is, they were involved. Brigham Young said that slavery was ordained by God, and slaves were sealed to their masters to be their eternal slaves. They were brought over the plains by the settlers of Utah.
www.utahhumanities.org/stories/items/show/201
@John Bair how is it bias? There was slavery in Utah, and there are historical evidences to prove it. Just because, according to you, there were only 29, it doesn't take away from the fact that There was slavery in Utah. If you read Brigham Young teachings, his feelings are pretty clear on blacks and where they stand in "the kingdom of God" according to Mormon doctrine.
Pointing out historical evidences is not biased.
@John Bair Here's an article from the churches website where the leaders of the church at the time condoned black slavery. Even though the article claims their offspring would "be free," the Mormon leaders still brought in the slave trade.
www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/history/topics/slavery-and-abolition?lang=eng
And let's not even get started on how they enslaved the Native Americans of that land.
www.history.com/news/native-american-slavery-mormon-utah
The amount of slaves they had is only part of the story. Black men were not allowed the same status as white men of being priest hood holders until the 1970's. They also discriminated agains them in other ways. The church has a sordid past in their treatment of black people.
@John Bair I've found a couple of your comments defending LDS and when your arguments are thwarted you never respond.
I respect her intellect. You can tell that her education is her true revenge and freedom.
It was powerful when one of the hosts said “I’m a fly on the wall, the floor is yours” to her. If I had experienced what she had and escaped, I’d NEVER stop talking! You’re safe now girl, the WORLD is also yours ❤️❤️❤️
God bless this poor women. She's so brave and intelligent.
I can't even imagine why anyone would type " thumbs down ". This is extremely educational and someone is telling their life story that was hell.

I know right and so brave to tell her story, so maybe someone else has the strength to leave or get out. Just sad to think we have people being enslaved like this and we don’t seem to be outraged bc of it
She looks more and more happy and empowered every time she does an interview.

What a precious woman of God. He heals all wounds my dear sister in Jesus Christ. I rejoice with you in your freedom. God bless you!
This really makes a certain verse meaningful. "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
A passage they no doubt ban their people from reading
@@StephFrandsen nope, they probably redefine what “easy” and “light” mean 😢
What book is that from? Anyone want to explain it to me
@@chaunybuck6065 Matthew 11:28 Jesus said "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light "
Notice god says "come to me" not come to an organization or a phrophet.
@@chaunybuck6065 That verse is found in the Bible.
When we try to live our lives without Jesus's help, it becomes a burden.
When we see what Jesus has done for us, ~He lived a sinless life and died for our sins. He wants to free us from sin and renew our lives with His beautiful life. He calls to each one, you can read the invitation in Revelation 3:20(a book in the Bible)
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
He wants us to let Him come into our hearts and change us.
You can read in the Bible in Matthew,Mark, Luke, and John all about Jesus's beautiful loving life.
WOAH! Here's a title that caught my attention!

Yeeeessss! Homie had 65 wives?!?! I can barely handle one. She the love of my life but she's a handful. I really feel bad for her.

He isnt fallen he is just plain evil. He made choices and will be destroyed. He is a pure tare a son of satan. He got off on all his nasty evil shit.
The men want the 13 year olds.
This trauma she went through is grooming, conditioning, psychological torture , sexual abuse, educational abuse, financial abuse everything including violence, the fact that this lovely lady has come out of this speaks to the strength and integrity that she has. This is enslavement! Yes the real Jesus can save, but these people still have to do counseling, it is crippling. Edit my family did the same to me, they’re a criminal organization it’s painful to explain how soul destroying they were. I’m thankful I’ve been baptized and saved through grace, mercy and faith.

Warren Jeffs is sooo creepy. I'm so proud of her..
Me too. Warren Jeffs is such a despicable Pedophile slime bag!!!! Burn in Hell Warren Jeffs!!!!
Has anyone noticed that they still carry a certain tone when they speak almost like an flds accent?
Joseph Smith sent men to England to recruit “settlers” for the relocation to Utah. I wouldn’t be surprised if the sheltered-Mormon-splinter-group accents lean toward aUK English 🇬🇧 pronunciation. This lady’s certainly does…
@@JasonJrake they all ARE raised with the exact same inflection in their voices. They even slightly roll their r's, if you listen carefully you'll notice it.
And the lifestyle makes them somewhat inarticulate. Not their fault.
I hear it fs
Yes! Sometimes I hear a hint of Irish accent!
My dad was apart of one of the groups. His dad pulled him out of school in 6th grade because his dad believed my dad was dishonoring the family. He worked construction from pretty much then on. It's always a good time running into cousins, aunts, and uncles you had no idea existed.
Wow. And I thought the cult I was raised in was bad. I escaped / was kicked out at 11 for being "defiant". And im so thankful. All I did was ask a question that any person with logic would ask. My mother only recently admitted she was wrong for this and I'm 44. Like just in the last month. Also, my mother must not ever bother me about religion or I will never speak to her again.
God bless this girl. This trauma lasts a lifetime. Memories hit you here and there forever. Hugs 🤗
I left the cult I was raised in at 30 and I’m so glad I got out and so glad you’re out too my parents aren’t going to be talking to me about religion either snd they know that.
You both are survivors and I’m glad both of you are out.
At 11??? Oh my goodness I’m so so sorry. They didn’t kick you out if your home though did they? If so what did you do? Where did you go?

This woman is amazing, strong and intelligent. If everyone had the brain she does, these victims wouldnt be as easy to find and create. She held her ground in the small ways she could and that is amazing
My biggest question is what is the US government doing to rescue the innocent children from such a cult. I feel traumatised on behalf of the victims. The lady is so nice and very brave. Hopefully she's now a follower of Jesus. God bless her.
They’ve made polygamy illegal, as far as I know, but you’re right. They definitely need to do more to protect them. It’s very unfortunate
It's called freedom of religion....but it's sinful, wicked men who promote themselves in to power.
Hopefully she found her own path & is at peace with her path, no matter what it is. Wishing she is specifically a "follower of Jesus" seems like yet another attempt to control her path. Be free Brielle. Please continue to keep that strength of will & let your spirit guide you to YOUR truth
Yes! This is exactly how I feel too!
Grew up LDS Mormon and I can vouch the mind-control tactics used in her case are also used in the LDS doctrines.
Behavior, information, thought, and emotional control. Aka. BITE model.
Fear, guilt, and shame. That was also my experience.
@John Bair Don’t spend your life trying to lead people to a god. What a waste. Enjoy your god. Practice the teachings you believe in, but mind your own business and help people because you’re a good person - not because you want to go to heaven.
@John Bair then let people come to you about your religion.
@John Bair I am happy to hear it brings you so much joy, though.
Yup! Her case is just more abusive than a typical lds girl. I grew up as a J.W. It’s taken me years to actually see it for what it is.
Clicked so fast. Wow. This woman is precious.
Well, they train the wives to keep sweet repeatedly. That's their entire goal. I bet some of the upbringing kept.
Thank you Brielle, your courage and your voice MATTERS. Love and healing to you and your beautiful soul 🤟
Oh man. Her statement about praying for revelation gave me a jolt of PTSD. The standard mormon church of which I am a recovered victim always said personal revelation was a cornerstone of the doctrine. Yeah, except if you pray and get an answer that differs from accepted church doctrine you are told to go back and pray again because you got the wrong answer. Sometimes cults masquerade as respectable parts of society.
i hear you on that. also an exmormon. I have personally been a victim of a couple of different cults, one of them bein the mormon church, another being a small secluded off the grid bible group in california. As time goes on I cannot believe I fell for what the mormon church taught, and i have so much sympathy for those still blind to it
Looking forward to the rest of this precious woman’s story of courage.
I really appreciate the content of apologia studios. I'm not a calvinist but I do really appreciate some of the stuff here. This woman's story shows what happens when group leaders go outside scripture. Praise God for the work He has done in this woman's life.

@@beauxbrasseur I definitely will not be a calvinist I've studied that very firmly in the traditionalist arminian camp on this one. But I appreciate many of my calvinist brothers and sisters. Paul Washer is my favourite preacher and he is certainly in that way of thinking. God bless mate
I'm a traditionalist too (not arminian tho)! Sometimes it's frustrating to see so many people act like Calvinism is the "one true doctrine" but I too appreciate the good stuff that apologia does. :)
@@annasmith6090 I would be more arminian myself. But I really appreciate a wide variety of different people from the spectrum
In the beginning the guy says he believes that jeffs, koresh, jim jones, and manson are "the four horsemen"??? this is why i am agnostic, the ridiculousness of religion, the flood myth( a sumerian fable way before judaeism ever existed) mormons are just another cult, as someone who has studied most all the religions and beliefs, knowing history vs any man made ridiculous religion, i see the guy who is calling flds and mormonism a cult, all the while his beliefs and interpretations are just as ridiculous.......RELIGION HAS STUNTED THE GROWTH OF HUMANS IN A WAY THAT HAS HELD US BACK, MORALITY AND CIVILIZATION HAS BEEN HURT, THROUGH RELIGIONS COMMITTING GENOCIDE, BRAIN WASHING, DESTROYING NATIONS, CAUSING WAR , HELPING DICTATORS.....ONE DAY HUMANS WILL FULLY REALIZE POTENTIAL, ONCE THE CHAINS OF "KINDNESS THAT CAN KILL" IS REMOVED.....I WILL CHOOSE A PATH THATS CLEAR, I WILL CHOOSE FREEWILL!! i just returned from Short Creek and found a great team working there to serve the "remnants" of this fragmented community, there is a center for recovery, healing, education, and training, they also operate a food bank, and there is a growing fellowship of worshipers that serve the Lord, in humility and with grace.

Helpful suggestion? Use two or three modeling photography lights during your podcast. Light=warmness, personable-ness, and more credibility. I was a studio photographer for 20 years. Good luck!
Also please follow the interviewee's responses more than you follow your list of questions. There were some opportunities to ask "could you explain that more please?" But instead you got back to your script. It wasn't too bad, just a little frustrating.

Many thanks to Briell for such intelligent and useful insight. It does amongst much ele confirm to me the importance of all organisations avoiding one man rule. When you have several people who have to be consulted or decide things you get checks and balances whether that is in a single family, the Government or a church or even cult.

Beautiful young woman. It’s a miracle that she has not let the trauma of her life in the FLDS define her present life.
Wishing her good luck with her future.
Best episode I’ve seen from y’all.
I have never heard the information about baptism and Jesus stopping atoning for you. That blew me away...both FLDS and LDS wouldn't know that it's completely against the Bible because they aren't really taught some of those things or encouraged to read the Bible. The whole point of Jesus was to pay for our sins...forever. His sacrifice never stops. Holy cow...mind blown.
KaiyaCorrbin true! They are taught to believe in the Bible “as it’s translated correctly” Sounds like let’s just not give it any importance at all. Family members (by marriage) that are Mormon basically don’t trust in the Bible as the word of God as Christians do. Reading the Bible is low priority for them, sadly!
It’s not that Jesus stops atoning, it’s more that someone is accountable for their actions. It’s believed that children under eight are not accountable for sin yet. I can’t speak for FLDS beliefs, but that’s the LDS belief.
If he died for our sins how come there is a hell? A honest question....not mocking
@@k.a.4595 Because God still gave us a choice to follow him or not...and people that turn away from him are still sinning without feeling bad or remorseful about it, so there is still a need for hell. The act of being holy, as God is, also means that he cannot be in the presence of any evil. It's the repentance of sin that is the key...sinning and realizing it was wrong, then choosing to change because of it.
1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives."
This is saying that if you believe and confess that you have done wrong, he has promised to forgive you from all of it, washing away those sins, but if you reject what him and what he says, there is no repentance. Without repentance, there is no need for forgiveness because the person believes they haven't done anything wrong, but this doesn't allow their sins to be washed away. He still forgives us for the things we do every day, but unless we look to him, it just sits there and doesn't really do anything.
Wow, cults and more cults.
I just want to reach through the screen and give this sweet girl a hug ❤️❤️ absolutely terrible what these people go through

She is so sweet and honest. So sad she had to live this way for so long
I love The Village, great movie and similar to the way the flds controls it's members. I lived in Colorado City for a bit. It was sad, seeing how the children were taught to be afraid of outsiders.
The four horsemen list, what about David Miscavige? That's a huge name to leave off that list!
Good point
And Fred Phelps who calls himself a Baptist-- Westboro-- in Kansas ( now deceased) but led his family to picket funerals with signs saying God hates gays, etc. The American Legion and other groups will surround the mourners so they won't be harassed by his group.
The people that break away from this sh** are the smarter ones
its extremely difficult for them when this is all they know and all the outrageous practices are "normal" to them so they cant imagine a life outside those cults.
Davis Varghese tell that to the people who do break away or Catholic Ireland. I stand by my comment.
@@IrishBecci89 I agree with you. not arguing, just saying that there is a whole psychology behind these things and why people don't/can't break away so easily. that's why I have so much more respect for the ones that do break away.because it's like running away from everything you know, knowing that if you end up being wrong you can't ever come back to your family and friends and everything you knew.
I remember that I was working with people coming out of cults when I lived in Dallas in the early 1990s. (I was in a cult from 1971-1979). I had a chance to become involved with the negotiations outside the Branch Davidian compound .....and then the FLDS came 15 years on the heels of it, also in Texas.

Listening to this got me thinking about the documentary “The Bible vs. Joseph Smith”. It’s really good and very informative. I haven’t got far enough into this to know how she got out, but I’m sure glad she did and hope that her experience with this false religion/cult didn’t turn her off from loving and trusting in God.

I haven’t gotten to the end yet, but the channel explore with us did a couple of great videos on this group and it lets you see how some of them have retained their faith but are more independent and free now. Like they are so cult like anymore.
Whats the point of Jesus after turning 8. If you have to earn it.
Walter Martin thoroughly explains Mormons’ beliefs on UTube and in his book “The Kingdom of the Cults.” Very informative.
Yes my husband and I love that book and "kingdom of the occult", we have learned so much from those books
*Omg I can not wait until he book is out!!! This is so interesting!! It would be amazing to know Warren's life story... his childhood and growing up!! You'd think he had to have gone through some ish to make him so twisted!!*
I have seen some episodes of Leaving Polygamy recently and thought it just had to be sensationalized. Yes, they use dramatic camera cuts and music which is really annoying but it just seemed like it couldn't be as abusive as they depict. I was clearly wrong. She is validating everything the people leaving the cult said in that show. This is frightening. I hope the membership finally figures out Jeffs is a criminal and a lier.
If you havent, watch some documentaries on it. That show does seem dramatic and probably is dramatized for views, but the lds/flds "church" really is so dark and screwed up.
