My favourite logo shirt which is totally silly but has a classic style is a charcoal grey pocket tee with small letters below the pocket that says,"I feel like Tacos", I have worn it to travel on the plane and so many people make comments like, I like them too. I get confused until I realize that the guy at the airport security is talking about tacos! I hope you are on the mend and I'm so glad to hear that you are thinking about getting "dressed".

    Sorry to say guys but I believe what she is teaching is how to dress appropriately and not putting restrictions on how we dress. I also believe it’s not how we look and what we put on but what suits right according to how we look at our age. Some look so old but they dress like young, and so many young dress up like old. Decency and elegance matters, not just fashion. ✌️👩‍⚖️

    I am in my 70s I wear leggings with classic shorter jackets after losing a ton of weight. I am proud of my body, especially my waistline. I don't wear anything oversized with them but only classic semi fitted tops, (no belly, slim hips.)I am 5 ft 6. Waisted work out jackets hip length are something else I wear with leggings proud of my waistline. I also wear a mini dress over leggings, again fitted waist. I seldom do prints, just a fine stripe if anything and I find it keeps things classic looking.

    These legging outfits are classy. I'm so over leggings though. I would wear them with a dress if it's cold, but prefer opaque tights. Recently donated all the tunic tops I used to wear with leggings. I still wear leggings at home or the gym, sometimes as pajamas when it's super cold in winter for comfort. I wear yoga pants with a sweater (jumper) a pretty necklace and ankle boots . Suppose that's just as casual as leggings. 😁

    Cute video. I'm 65 and I wear leggings any way I want to. The rest of me is a mess but I always did and still do have great legs. I wear leggings with tunics just long enough to cover my rear end. Longer tunics make me look dumpy. I would never "cut myself in half" by wearing a light top over black leggings. I aways make sure to wear a print with a good amount of black in it so it's not such a jarring contrast.

    Leggings are fine to wear out to events or public spaces where looks are at a premium, if they are thick enough with a long loose top or tunic that comes down to the thigh. Definitely no bum or tum showing. I also think they require toned legs from regular squats or cycling too. Muscles retract as you get older making it hard to maintain a good enough figure for clinging clothing. If you barely exercise and you have wobbly thunder thighs or spindly matchsticks, leggings won't be a good look no matter how you wear them, unless you substitute them for tights under a dress that at least comes down to he knee or below - maybe with boots in the winter.
    Of course, if y ou are wearing them around the house or with close relatives and family or you are too unfit or unable to exercise, they are a practical godsend no matter what your situation or appearance is.

    So many lovely ideas I absolutely will have to try out. I also love leggings for their "practical side". As a top-heavy V-shape (broad shoulders, E-cup) with rather long legs I have now switched to flared leggings which are a nice alternative to all these (for me) unflattering baggy or wide pants we see everwhere here in France.

    • @ladybug5859
      @ladybug5859 Před 2 lety +3

      Ms Haeussler, I usually pair my leggings with a tunic which cups in a bit under my bust because like you --apparently I'm an F European style although in America that's a triple D-- and the tunic, by cutting in a little bit under the bust, reduces me to a C cup which is great. It them glides over my tummy and love handles and stops 2/3 down on my derriere. Because my legs are small or slender --more or less --that area is the smallest part on me now!😁 I did find at Walmart, of all places, some flared leggings similar to the fitted leggings I had bought for just a couple dollars more and with heels they look really good. OF course my tunic's never a square, boxy tunic because it would do the reverse to our body.
      I liked her ideas but if you're busty, I don't think it works. SHE'S very short and & her bust appears small and it looks like she has no tummy or she covers it well, so she can get away with these chunky sweaters and blouses oversized. But I'm not sosure for my shape and possibly your shape it'll work. Each to his own or as they say-- different folks different Strokes. ALSO I don't live in England rathervI live in the States where 110° is very common for many many months and you would never want to layer cardigans and trenches and other such things with such Heat🌞

    I remember around 1965 seeing a woman, probably over 50 with a younger woman who was probably her granddaughter, wearing a mini skirt and white go go boots. I thought “oh my God, I will never dress inappropriately for my age, “ and I don’t think I have ever done that. You can be stylish, classy, and very attractive without trying too hard to look young. As we age we are not fooling anybody, but we can still look attractive and age-appropriate. I am now 82, I don’t try to look like I am younger than my age, but I try to dress in a way generically neat and attractive without putting me in any era.

      I agree 1. That leggings look more flattering if the woman is thin. 2. They are not trousers or pants....ok, they are leggings and are not attractive when worn by woman who are morbidly obese or approaching obesity. Opaque stockings worn as an undergarment afford as much compression and coverage. 3 Dont pretend your figure is better than it is.

    • @roniwilliams2594
      @roniwilliams2594 Před rokem

      Jeanie there’s no need to be hurtful. You have NO idea what someone is thinking, and it’s very shallow of you to assume that someone is “pretending” their figure is better than it is! I know exactly how MY figure is, and I wear what I think is cute and what I am able to wear without pain. If you don’t like how someone looks, DON’T look! Your idea of attractive means nothing to me.

    I absolutely love these looks. Thank you :) I'm someone who lives in leggings, because I look after kids as a child minder and when not doing that I seem to be permanently dog walking or trying to cram in a bit of yoga, so I want to be comfy (but not look like Columbo on a bad day!) The white plimsoles tip is a great one. I can see the difference it makes. It must be a difficult balance with a channel like this, because I feel that older women like me feel judged enough and don't want to be told what not to wear, but I love your content as it feels like gentle guidance on how to wear the things I already love but not look outdated. Also, can I just say that your hair is totally stunning. Mine is going grey but at that in-betweeny stage. I'll hopefully one day be at the hairdressers with a photo of your beautiful hair.

    I am 68 and just love leggings for winter. The top I wear, and it is normally a handknitted sweater or a coat, MUST cover the bottom and preferably the top of the thighs. I am not a fan of sneakers or boots but I find that plain and dimple pumps (and I often match them to the top I'm wearing helps bring the look together. (And my very critical daughter has never told me I look like mutton dressed as lamb :)

    Just approaching 59 and beginning to travel again. Can you please create a video on travel clothes for carryon? I find a lot of the 'travel vloggers' are younger and the clothing I do not feel is appropriate for certain countries. Looking forward to travelling again to Japan with carry-on only. Long haul flight from Australia 😀✈🌏

      I love Lulu Lemon On the Fly pants for travel. I have owned three pair in black and they are still going strong. They can be rolled up a bit in warmer weather or left full length in cooler weather. You can dress them up or down. they are light weight. My daughter bought the copy on Amazon for a fraction of the price and loves them. I want to try an Amazon pair to compare. I have compared mine to hers, but I would like to see in terms of the fabric keeping me cool how the Amazon ones do. I literally wear the black lulus all summer with tee shirts. I also love Le Sports sac crossbody bags for travel because they are so light weight and have good pockets. i use a Sports sac brand flat case with a main zipper compartment and two on the outside as my wallet because there is no bulk or extra weight in the purse and it is easy to get things in and out/keeps things organized.

    If you're going through any kind of identity crises, clothes begin to matter a lot! Yet appearances never mattered more, in particular for 60+! Of course the divide is whether you work and what social work group you belong to.
    I like your channel, it is beginning a conversation we can't get easily 'does my bum look big in this? Too much, not enough?' What you demonstrate well to me is, that it doesn't really matter as long as you look comfortable, you're almost there. 22nd Century is all about "why are we different? Unique and all owned up to who we are inside!"
    It's great to get your take on self expression!

    Yes I agree with these particular suggestions. I am new to your channel so I am sure there's plenty in your channel that might answer my query about height, but I may not remember to watch out for this as I go through all of your other videos. I think you said something about height in this video. I am pretty tall. I'm Australian and we use metric but I looked it up and am about 5'7- 5'8. What if any thing do I need to know about height and this sort of look. I don't ever wear heels, I find them extremely uncomfortable and don't feel I need to look taller. I do have lots of nice shoes and boots to wear with leggings though. Thanks in advance.

    I am 54 and an artist, so I was never conservative about dressing, but in some of these outfits I would feel I am not dressed up yet to go out of the house. It would feel I have a pantyhose on but forgot to put on something...
    I think the a hemline shorter than mid-thigh is a big no-no for a classy woman of any age above teens, unless dressed especially for sports, dancing, doing work around the house, or some similar activity. It does give the impression of that one is trying too hard to look younger.
    Not to mention that one should have nice, toned legs to show them off. WIth not-so-great legs, one should draw the attention much more toward the face. Methinks.
    With that being said, I wear leggings every day, for 2 reasons: 1. because of a medical condition I wrap my lower legs, so I need to cover that. 2. I bicycle everywhere, and with leggings I don't need to bother about the wind blowing my skirt up and such.
    My solution to be feminine and classy in the same time is to wear a pretty skirt or dress around knee-length, and it almost looks like I just have stockings under it.

      I don’t think horizontal stripes are a complete no. They need to be thin and worn only if you aren’t concerned about them widening you. Breton tops for instance wouldn’t be so popular if it was a complete no no. Just my thoughts. Maybe I should do some research and a video on horizontal stripes, do and donts.
