Is t it a Rambo hat?
Youâre adorable! And your outfits very classy! đ€©
You showed the problem! Older woman have big knee joints and wasted thigh muscles. Looks bad. Just wear trousers
You look smashing darling! Thanks for the video!
The hat youâre wearing is a type of fedora. Most often worn with the back of brim turned up. Howâs the quality on the long black cardigan?
Not that I would wear leggings but if I wanted to wear them I darn well would. I am not into worrying what other people think is âthe right thingsâ to wear. If I feel ok then that is fine. Iâm 82 and independent in mind. I did have so much fun in the hippie era!
I'm with you - I'm only 79, but I've, since I stopped work, and lost the 'supervisors' imposing a dress code, worn what I like. Just as well I couldn't hope to look fashionable, with no teeth, no hair and swollen ankles and not Helen Mirren's bone structure! Still, if you are still dependent on the approval of others, I guess this might make you feel better.?
Approval from others via compliments can make you feel good ( most people like compliments, I think) but hopefully the approval isnât the be all and end all of your clothing choices.
Me also I could care less what others think. If it comfortable and I like it, I wear it. I am not a slave to fashion.
Wear whatever you like!!
Older women with a short story and right leggings tend to make them look like they gave chicken legs. I think you should wear what your comfortable but personally I think the friend of mine would look better wa longer shirt
Wow! Instead of being snarky about it, you simply demonstrated nice ways to fashion leggings with humor and class. Thank you!
I'm 71 and live in leggings! I do wear tunics, sweaters and tops that cover my butt and upper thighs. Honestly, I dress for comfort rather than style but your suggestions are lovely.
In today's world, who care who wear's what. Just wear what ever your little heart desires.
Iâm retired and love wearing leggings, long tops or tunics over them. I wear them with chunky boots, and usually a scarf. After working in an office and wearing formal wear, itâs great to be able to wear COLOURS!!! I have boots in every colour and only wear dark leggings. I am horrified when I see youngsters in really thin, really too tight leggings in light colours that shows absolutely everything. Itâs not a good look at any age.
Camel toe đ looks awful!
Great video and wardrobe tips for us older gals. Being 5'8 and 68 yrs old, I still enjoy wearing leggings, pairing them with tunic or longer length tops. As long as my back end and my front tummy & upper leg areas are covered, its a great look and can be rocked, no matter your age. The high boots and even the low ankle boots are both great options for leggings as well (as you have shown). Just because we are over 50, doesn't mean we are ready for the nursing home, sitting and wearing a blanket on our lap.
You've got THAT right!đ
Amen! I describe my style as âI am a Grandmother, but that doesnât mean I need to look like a Grannyâ.
I'm 5'9 and 59! yes, Agree!
I am 1
Ty for talking about appropriate length of tunic with leggings! Never mind over 50 fashion, everyone should be doing this :)
I wear clothes for comfort so I wear the length I prefer for tops, which happens to be not long, as I am only 5ft tall. I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a dress over them. It's no one else's business what other people wear, so people should do whatever they prefer for themselves, not whatever they think other people should / would like to see on them. I hate to be told that I should / shouldn't do or wear certain things.
Thanks for this video Anne Marie. Loved all the outfits, especially the tan boots with sweater vest over shirt and cape at the start. So chic but casual at the same time! đđ
I have recently been following your channel as I have very little clothing. I hate shopping, I donât know what to wear, and I donât know what looks good. I particularly like this video because I have a very long torso and most shirts right up on me so incorporating a tunic with leggings works well for my body type. Iâm glad you put links to products in your videos. Iâm 58 with nine grandchildren and itâs time for me to step up my game. Thank you for helping me do just that.
Same and i cannot stand a short shirt or sweater. Yuck.
Study the elements and principles of design and determine your body shape/height. A key principle is proportion. Any beautiful item can look like a sac if it's out of proportion for you. Stick with classics as presented in the video... classic styles, classic colors. Once in awhile, buy "that amazing" dress, etc. on the mannequin as long as it enhances your body shape and proportioned to your height. But, don't buy too much. Our brains go bonkers when there are too many decisions to make and too many clothes for which we must care for.
I am very old fashioned; I only wear leggings as I would wear pantyhose: under a dress and my dresses are never above my knees! For me they keep me warm in place of going bare legged. Happy New Year! Hope 2023 is the best yet for you and your family đâïžđŸđžđ
I wear them under Knitted dresses too
You wear the. Just like me
Thank you for posting this. The leggings I bought have been hanging unworn in my wardrobe because I always wear skirts, usually mid-calf or below, to distract from the horrible scarring and marks just above my left ankle - and to help disguise my weight a bit... I've thought about wearing the leggings under my longer skirts but didn't have the confidence to try it, but I feel more comfortable giving it a try now.
I now wear them under long skirts and modest dresses in place of a slip. Have been wearing leggings since DANSKIN were the only brand commercially available and able to be purchased only at a dance shop. In addition I like ANTHONY RICHARDS and LAND'S END brand leggings. Practically indestructible
Fun fact: Leggings are not pants. They were never meant to be. It's in the name: LEGgings. They're just heavier tights. Therefore, one's butt is supposed to be covered, whatever age you are. And these looks are great on you!
And pants, no matter how tailored, were not made to be worn by women and certainly not to an office! /s
Thank goodness times change and only a few uptight folks are insisting on attempting to tell women how to dress these days.
If you don't want to wear leggings, then don't wear them. If you can't stand that other women wear leggings, DON'T LOOK.
đ Enjoyed watching this because it matches my own personal aesthetic on wearing longer tops with leggings. This style looks so much more sophisticated & comfortable! I liked all of your outfits... I'm a mature woman, older than yourself. I look forward to wearing my leggings this winter! Thank you...have a Happy, Healthy & Peaceful New Year!!!

I love this channel. I'm under 50 and I think your ideas are great for anyone who wants to look chic, modern, and classy.
I love the outfits you put together! Clean, simple style for over 50 people - so refreshing. I've been struggling to figure out how to dress comfortably without looking frumpy, and stylishly without looking like I'm trying to disguise my age. I have no desire to do that - I want to look my best, but I also want to look like myself, age and all.
P.S. Subscribed!
I bought a pair of leggings that are "Danskin" brand leggings from a dance shop about 16 years ago and they're still just like new. I wear them all the time. The fabric also acts a little bit like shapeware but infinitely more comfortable. Worth the investment.
Paired with layered tops that go over the butt and cute boots, they look classy and slimming.
Since I'm lopsided because of breast cancer, I wear a tunic-length top and then a shorter top or a short jacket layered over it. Slim leggings and boots keep it in proportion.
Thank you for encouraging us to cover up those areas! So refreshing!
Everything you've shown is perfect for my work at a high school as a student monitor... Professional polished yet casual.
I haven't reached 50 yet, but I think this is such a good video to watch. Reasonable and chic fashion advice, imo even for younger people. And you're hilarious. I LOLed and loved all those bits you add in the video (the comments, the photos, etc). I'm subbing :)
Fantastic video. Learnt a lot. Thank you.
I am 58 years old, and I find leggings to be so very comfortable. Iâm 5â7â, and wear a size 6. I am on the thin side, but even if I wasnât I believe that when we wear what makes us feel good, is the best look for all of us. Age is just a number, but the gift of growing older is no longer caring so much about what anyone thinks of our clothing choices. Just who are women trying to compare themselves to, and why? Happiness, and joy do not come from conforming to the opinion of what others think. Just be you, do and wear what brings you comfort, and happiness.
Iâm in my 70âs and I can assure you age is not just a number.
@@janefuller1737 Well said, I wear what I like and do not care what people think. I really don't think they think anything anyway. Just smile and be pleasant, does the trick everytime for me.
Thank you! Finally some realistic fashion sense from another 5â2â petite woman over 50! Also your choices look simple, affordable, and are for everyday looks instead of special occasions and events. Keep âem coming!
I LOVE these looks! Thank you for sharing!:)
You look great! Thanks for the ideas!đ„°
My personal rule of thumb is that a top must cover my entire rear plus a few inches when I raise my arms over my head. The longer length can be dressed up - a mini dress (one that skims the body and indicates a waist without clinging to bulges) can look fantastic with nice leggings and ankle or knee boots. Also, leather-look and velour can be great options in winter, especially with a sweater dress or crepe shift that is too short to wear as a dress. Modest and edgy or cozy or classy.
I love seeing the casual look with the hoodie. Good to know others over 50 still want this look.
Oh my goodness. Your style is what I have been loooking for. Many of this is in my closet. Now, I can feel more confident puttinh it together. Thank you.
I'm so glad!
Really liked the leggins, shirt & sweater combo on you w/ the tan boots! Also liked the biker boots w/ the long hoodie sweatshirt. Thanks for showing us some cool đ ways to wear leggins!
Elegant options - Thank you!
Great ideas. Ty
Thank you!! I am well over 50 & i appreciate all the good ideas.
Loved that you modelled the examples and agree with your suggestions and commentary. Well done. thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
You pretty much just modeled my entire wardrobe! Lol. I wear Blundstones but and have been looking for a pair of knee boots but haven't quite found the right ones yet. I also wear a fitted jean jacket over longer shirts which I love. Make sure to get one in light and one in dark denim!
I totally agree with you on every style. Well done!!!!!
Very nice. Great fashion tips.
You look amazing! Thanks for the tips
Thank you, these are wonderful tips! I love every style you showed and will check out the links, (and subscribe!) đâ€ïž
I love it, Annemarie! I agree about the dark solid colors for leggings - it's most slimming. I saw someone my age wearing plaid print leggings two days ago - it just made her legs look larger.
I worked in retail when it was "any print goes" for leggings. . Floral, pineapples, cats!đ
It just looked like you were trying to wallpaper your bum. Classic is always better.
Maybe she wanted to make her legs look larger or draw attention to them?
Love this! â€ïž
Great video thanks đ
Great video â€
Great video. The looks are great !
Glad you like them!
Hi! I am so glad I found you! You are an enjoyable personality to watch, not pretentious or condescending but personable and makes me feel like I'm talking with a friend! Thank you for doing these videos! Robinette
Thank you so much!!
I have absolutely no fashion sense, and normally when I watch fashion videos I donât find much help. But this video had such good advice that I can definitely use. Excellent!
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you . That was very informative
Great advice !
Thank you great video đđ
Thank you, very useful tips.
Love your style and your personality is a joy!
Lol! I am with you! I definitely am covering my rear and my front! Leggings are difficult for petite heights (5'4" and shorter). I'm 5'5" so petites are not always doable so I usually have to hem. Thank you so much for sharing!
You look fabulous in everything. I look dreadful in leggings and skinny jeans but would love to be able to wear them. I might be able to diguise my leg shape with your idea of the knee high boot. Thank you for your video. Happy New Year.
A great video Thank you
Very nice ! I like it !!!!
Great tips as usual. Very cute ideas.
I love these ideas! I had been thinking of trying leggings. Now I am definitely going to try it!
Thank you so very much for this! Great tips for us to use. I love the comfort of leggings, but, being 72 years old, I have never felt good about wearing them out anywhere. With this, I can rock the look without looking like I'm trying to go back to the 60's.......lol Again, thank you so much and for all you do. remember to BREATHE.......
Thank you. Yes i will take a breath đ
Great fashion show! I have been wondering what to wear at my craft shows and this is it. You did great from casual to nicely dressed.
Glad it was helpful!
You are exactly right!! đ
Great tips. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
These looks are fabulous! Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Absolutely LOVE the vest, shirt and tall boots!
Great video. Covering the rear is absolutely vital for older women and large women.
Some great ideas!. I'd love to see you wear some of your colours from your recent colour analysis palette.
Will do!!
Love your fashion sense
Great đĄ
Happy new year
Hello! I just watched your video and loved it! New to your channel. My parents are from England, I lived in England for a few years, and have lots and lots of family in the UK. Looking forward to watching your videos! Cheers!
That was excellent adviceđšđŠ
This was great! I agree with all your comments. I'm heavier than you, so I keep with medium to dark colors on top as well. I do have dark grey and dark burgundy leggings, just to give myself options.
I love the sweater vest with the button down outfit đ€© First I need a pair of those leggings for MY tree stumps!!! (I thought my sister & I were the only ones with that phenomenon!)
The pullover vest with shirt peeking out below the hemline and knee length boots is a fabulous look. Iâm gonna go shopping right now!
Lovely to see ur channel growing you come across very well. X
Thank you. I hope you are well x
Hello from Texas. You have great fashion sense---LOVE your outfits, and they look wonderful on you!
I bought a couple of shirt extenders from amazon and I love the look with a sweatshirt or similar. I also got some fleece lined yoga pants from amazon which are so cozy this winter. I call this look my uniform because I wear it almost daily. lol
thanks for these ideas. i am nearly 70 and still wear leggings. i love them. they are comfy and always wear them in winter especially. only wearing dresses and skirts in the warmer months again.. i love these with a tunic dress. i think that look is really nice. i don't care what others think. it's how i feel in my clothes that matters. love your videos. i have subscribed for more fashion know hows. you look lovely in anything by the way. đ
Love the sound of your voice. Great video
Thank you!,,
Saving this for later. My leggings basically serve as an extra layer for winter walks. But I have also been wearing them as PJ bottoms as they don't tangle up in bed.
Thank you, super options and advice. May I ask, where did you get the sleeveless cream jumper from?
It was M&S but has recently sold out. Here is similar for USA Canada bit.ly/3CH9U2C UK perhaps this one amzn.to/3w0OART
Love the look with the long black cardiga and the one with the vest with the long shirt.
I loved them back in the 90s when I could get away with a more revealing look, but not any more! I use black understated leggings as background to highlight a nice long top, and/or a long cardigan for a classy look. I like long boots too. I think of them as I do with ultra thick tights in how much I want to reveal now!
Very sensible comments!
Just found your channel. What a wonderful video this was. I loved how you styled the leggings.
Not only Over 50s!
These are great styles for earlier years too, simple, elegant and some classic looks and lines.
Youâve got a great eye for line, form and shape.
And a bit more class than just swallowing trend.
So glad to stumble across this channel.
Glad you like them!
Love the video and advice. I love wearing leggings too so some very good tips. By the way, where did you get the Christmas Tree? It is just what I am looking for. Thank you.
Oh our local garden centre 10 years ago đ
M&S thermal leggings are amazing! They are so warm without being too chunky. Lovely and sort to wear! They wash great. They look great with a longer length jumper or long blouse. Definitely black or navy!
I just turned 50 and I love my leggings. There is a company called Sweetlegs they hit a lot of the pointers you are showing. I still go with patterns.
Loved these combos! I've heard it called a bush hat, gaucho hat, or maybe a wide-brimmed fedora. It's a toss up! đ
Particularly Love the Beige Cape Top and Black Hat, this really suits you. All outfits so Trendy đnot quite so keen on Long coat and scarf, think that's slightly more ageing đgreat video for us Shorties thoughđ€©
Loooooooooooooovvvvve your style!!!!
I'm not over 50, but I do like your channel. I also like to be covered when wearing leggings- I don't think they are trouser replacements, and feel too exposed if I don't have good coverage! Even for dance and gym wear, I have to wear something long over the top, so thanks for giving classy tips to get me out of my comfort zone of just wearing dresses.
I just found your channel. I am 50 and trying to style myself well without looking too old or young đ . I was reading the video and decided to click and listen. I said to myself I bet she has a British accent. I was right đ. I love listening to you and you give some good thoughts on leggings. New subscriber here!
You are cute in all of these! Thank you for the ideas!
Your style ideas are great. I'm 65 and love these ideas!
The sweater vest looks adorable on you!
I'm so glad you mentioned that you are only 5'2". I always assumed that petite women can't wear long cardigans, but yours looks gorgeous. I am only 4'11" and have always shied away from them; but i'm going to give one another try. Thanks for sharing a fun video. I liked and subscribed. :)
I love the tips you gave. Iâm also over 50 and most of the look are great for me! And I canât help but add that everyone is entitled to their opinion; however, there is a classy way to say things when you disagree, or⊠just donât say anything.
Love that way of putting the way to comment a disagreement Thank you đ
I'll wear whatever I want how I want thank you!!! 67 yo, could not care less what other people think!
There are loads of sweater dresses in the shops at the moment, worn over base layers they can be warm and stylish at the same time.
A few years ago when the trend was massively 'oversized', I went into Primark during the sale to find loads of 'oversized' jumpers and they were all sized xs so nobody was buying them.
Not me, I picked up 8 in various colours for ÂŁ5 each because they fit me just right as jumper dresses, I just don't understand why people want to look like a sack of spuds but they did me a favour!
All adorable!
