The interpretation, the structure of the pieces, the melodies, arrangements, the richness of the choirs, a correctness in all styles. Talent, accuracy in all styles, love through music,very passionate people , balanced, perhaps only normally, human, with an exceptional performer, who had to sublimate the authors, composers of the group. Abba seems to me to be an extraordinary meeting of four beech trees, Like a planet alignment.

As a kid in the 70s this song rocked the waves. It was played at parties and I remember all my girl cousins and aunts going crazy on the dance floor!! But the 2 women dancing have the best moves I've ever seen!! BEAUTIFUL!!!

is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world, the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen), #3 in Billboard U.S. and the seven #1 in UK Charts
This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music (They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end)
the blonde Agnetha is the lead vocal, her voice is so powerful, in perfect armonies and chorus with Anni Frid in co-leads vocal (and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance')
Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together
Agnetha is soprano
Anni Frid is mezzo soprano
and together Made a 'three voice'
the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging, by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to "take a chance", and so the song was born
Although it is a disco pop, it is like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying and addictive
In the video the absolute center is the girls, very suggestive
A clarification: it was filmed a month after Agnetha's second motherhood, so she had not yet recovered her pre-pregnancy figure

(and the most sailing ABBA song in U.S.)
It was when ABBA came to U.S. as a guess star invited to special TV "Olivia"
"Take a chance on me" is so happy and catchy, beautiful voices (leads by the blonde Agnetha) and harmonies, great rythm and melody, amazing begining 'a capela', is a fantastic song!

And the video is so funny too Was the first film after Agnetha second's pregnance
This song is the second single in the most versatily "ABBA The Album"
There's a lot of greatest songs there, and with better lyrics not only about love and relationships, like

This is one of my favorite songs from Abba, really most of their songs are my favorite.
What is often forgotten is that Abba were, in some senses, pioneers of the music vide)o. They were sort of a multi-media act from that perspective, in the way that we understand today. Their clothes were designed, they had their own studio, their own sex appeal (Agnetha's bottom was highly prized!). And they did all this in a second language - which is more than a lot of the American or English pop acts of the time could manage...
Lasse Hallström was a genius 👍👍 just like the rest of ABBA team. Great songs, Cathy melodis and superb baseline (most from Gunnarsson, may her rest in peace)
There's a good reason why, when they were at the top of their game, they were Sweden's top export earner, topping auto makers Saab & Volvo (combined). A case of hard work& tons of talent paying off. Just too bad that level of success didn't bring them happiness in their personal lives. Oh well, like they say: "life is tough,& then you die; cry me a river". Cheers!

@01:53 I was a teen back in ABBA's heyday (late '70's) and yes! Living in the moment was real and normal. No Mtv, no CNN, no social media to distract us. Both loneliness and joy were felt in the moment.

Thanks for the ABBA reaction. ABBA's just a great band. No mater what kind of music they did it was done to perfection. And really you've just scratched the surface of their work. Next you should do "SOS" there is and official video but I like the 'Live at seaside' its on YT in HD. It's a great perfomance. No other band brings a smile like them.

Nearly 15 years later, the UK electronic group Erasure repopularized this track in the British charts and perhaps kickstarted a renewed interest in their output. But I recall it the first time around, when it was still Europop and you were allowed to hang loose. Admittedly I was 5 at the time...
