    I really appreciate 1AAuto making these videos. That is why I now buy parts from them. But there are two points in this video which may not be quite right for an SRX:
    1. You will not be able to rent a slide hammer puller that will fit the SRX (because it is a relatively small 6 bolt affair), nor do you need to. A puller is not necessary, just tap the axle shaft out of the bearing. It is not hard to do, and the whole assembly will almost fall into your lap.
    2. Do not remove the parking brake cable from the pawl. It is very difficult to put it back on the pawl. Just leave it there and remove the whole parking brake assembly with the cable intact.
    3. - Ah, yes, one more point: Yes you can mount the ebrake assembly before you assemble the hub. It is easier that way also.
    Thanks, IAAuto!

    This video really helped me in getting the job done, savings hundreds of dollars. The pulling of the emergency brake cable to reinstall it was a great tip, definitely going to have to put you back in a little to get it out enough to work it on the hook. Thanks a ton A1!!

    I have an 06' CTS and am planning on doing brakes, rotors and hubs on the rear end this weekend with parts I ordered from you guys. I have a question...how important is that rotor screw? Whoever owned it b4 me snapped it in half (guess it was seized) and happened it flat. I don't even know where to begin getting that small screw out...cant afford a mechanic but I know my way around to confidely do this job. This is the one thing that worries me. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Great video! However in all these videos you make it look so easy. I WISH my CV axle would come out with just a few little love taps... The bottom bolt is a real pain! Much easier after you get the CV dislodged and pushed out a bit.

    Be sure you dont have small pebbles trapped in there between the rwo moving surfaces. There is a pebble shelf in front of the rear wheel on the cts. I do brake clean then lube it with silicone oil spray. Thinknabout the last time your drove through construction. This has happened to me twice in 20k miles.

    Hello - Is there a reason you are unable to mount the E-Brake plate w/ 2x 15mm Bolts before sliding the hub onto the splines? I had one hell of a time getting that plate to line up with the hub installed. Pulled it back off, got the 2 15mm bolts started, then mounted the slid the hub onto the splines and slid the ABS wire through. Much easier

    Great job on this video. Very professional! How different is the 2011 version of this Cadillac? Mostly the same?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 8 lety

      +David Atkinson Well, we don't have a video for the 2011, so unfortunately we can't tell you if it's the same or not. But the general procedure for changing a bearing/hub is pretty similar to this one, so it will likely be close. Good luck! Let us know how the repair comes out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

      Ordered new hubs and abs speed harness as I didn't diagnose which one had the problem though I don't see any damage to the harness I'll install the hubs first and it if solves the abs and Tc lights I'll keep the harness as a spare. Do I need a hub puller?

      @1AAuto  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Sam, you should be most of the way there at that point. We currently do not have a video on how to remove the axle, there might be a few more thing to loosen or disassembly before it will come out for you. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com

    With the sts you pretty much have to remove the axle, I managed to loosen the top 2 bolts with a wrench but the bottom bolt I can't get a socket in thanks to the cv joint in the way.

    So it’s possible to just remove the bearing and change out the sensors with out replacing the bearing? Is this accurate?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 5 lety

      +Iron Worker 444 When you take a bearing out it is not recommended at all to press that bearing back in, it is for the best to replace it whenever it is removed.

    It's different for a STS V. You can't get to the bottom bolt under the axle. Axle to big around to get on the bolt. It's a pain in the butt to work on. Bad design.
