The meaning of the song is autobiographical, she says she carries her traumas with her (she lost her father when she was 13, he was a famous Italian singer who died of a heart attack in one of his concerts) the suffering makes you appreciate the joys more . You have to accept the ups and downs of life and you fight boredom as suffering by always remaining active, you have to use those moments in a positive way even just to reflect on your life and not remain passive to depress yourself, hence the cumbia dance of noia (boredom) it's like an invitation to a party to always look for something that makes us feel good.

It seems easy to listen to but it is a very complex piece. It's multiple genres fused. He has Southern Italian, Latin American and Balkan sounds, she also sings a cappella and rap, using clearly Italian terms, but also English and Spanish ones. The text talks about her boredom and her restlessness. She is the daughter of two very good singers, but her father, Mango, was an exceptional singer.

    • @tlacorp.3813

It is more South American and Balkan influenced than anything else. There is a lot of rapping as well. Not much Southern Italian .... In fact, I would like it more with more Southern Italian influences. This is a global piece more than anything else.

COMPLETELY agree with this comment and it’s why this is in my Top 3 this year (along with The Code which I think similarly approaches taking on different genres, musical sounds, and takes a unique approach to song writing).
I absolutely love the way that this song is composed and her performance and passion/energy is really what solidifies it as a Top of the Top song for me and takes it from a Good Song to a Great one. :)
I really hope this one does very well. Even if it’s not my #1 *favorite* favorite, I will absolutely enjoy listening to this one for years and years after this ends in May and will enjoy this one for a long time! Thank you Italy for this excellent selection (even if I liked a lot of the other competitors in Sanremo this year too) this one just brings such an incredible passion and energy that I think will translate really well in Malmo! :)

The explanation of the sound is very simple for us Italians, as it is a folk music that we know very well, it is called Tarantella, in the case of the song arranged in a modern way, the tarantella has existed for more than 150 years.
If you pay attention, at the beginning you hear a typical Italian instrument called Pianola (it's a small piano),
Next comes the famous Mandolin and the Latin-type acoustic guitar, but remember Italy is the grandmother of Latins all over the world.
The rhythm is nothing more than a slightly fast tarantella which on the street is normally played with an instrument tamburine (tamburello in Italian)

the girl is a natural talent, then she is the daughter of her late father Pino Mango, a great singer with a wonderful voice. among the most famous songs Monnalisa, Oro, Bella d'estate and La Rondine (that Angelina sang at the Cover evening, which I believe was decisive for the victory at the Festival)

    • @unravelingsoul9705

I don’t understand Italian much myself in terms of translating words, but one thing I love about music is that messaging is universal and the passion, energy and emotion that she performs this song with REALLY REALLY is showcased to the best! The contrast between the messaging which is clearly passionate and the rhythmic elements of the song with the upbeat melody and pace are fused together by one element that is universal to everything and that is Passion and Energy and THAT is the special ingredient this song has that puts it in my Top 3.
Absolutely love this composition and it is a great piece of art! While I also liked a lot of other songs at Sanremo this year, I am glad this one won and it will represent Italy very very well in Malmo! :)

This one is really different compared to my normal tastes and I think I may like it more than normal bc it’s Italy and I like Italian music more than most other ESC Countries but this one really connects with me and I really feel the passion and energy for this song in every way from the vocal performance to the instrumental background choice (which imo this is my favorite instrumental track out of all of the songs this year including the 2 I have above it right now) and I really, really appreciate the power and command she has over this song.
There’s just a magical quality to me that this, Mon Amour and The Code have that really make these 3 stand out above the others and while I really like a lot of the other songs (Hollow by Dons, Isaak Always On The Run, to name a couple) this one really stands out to me for being a truly special SONG Composition which I thoroughly enjoy.
Very, very well done Italy! While I also really really loved a lot of other songs in Sanremo this year (Annalissa, Diodato, etc. among others) I think this song really does an excellent job of representing Italy and should do incredibly well and even if not, I really love it myself and this one is one I will continue to listen to for years after ESC ends (which I can’t say about a lot of songs often lol).

Angelina's father was a singer-songwriter, her mother is a singer, her brother is a musician, her boyfriend is a musician, other members of her extended family are also musicians, she is what we call a daughter of art. Her songs are a mix of pop and traditional Mediterranean and southern Italian music, she sings in Italian but also in Neapolitan and Lucanian dialect and alternates disengaged songs with other very autobiographical and painful ones, it is at the beginning of her career given that she debuted a year ago but she seems very promising. She is charismatic, fresh, she can sing anything convincingly and writes very personal lyrics without fear of exposing herself, if she has self-control and is advised well she can have an excellent and long-lasting career.

It's about the complexity of life when you're young and you start a career (as a singer in her case) but you also carry a lot of pain and sadness with you. The cumbia is a Columbian and Mexican dance that is used as a way to deal with hard and difficult situations, situations of pain and it's a dance everyone can perform.

Did Alfie like her or did he just want to play with her plait? Best -

Best song 🎵 this year by a distance. Great vocals, great energy, great tempo and performance . Angelina is top class and looks great check out a couple of her other hits she's a star already. An Italian Ariana Grande with a better voice just my opinion . It's 12 points for me from Ireland 🇮🇪

The "Fast" and the "Furious" can be read as an homage to the Italian folk dance called Tarentella. So it is not just quirky and / or unusual - rather a nod to older musical roots ...

Hi Georgina, somebody already told about her father, a famous italian pop singer who died abruptly, but her mother has been a singer too, namely in 1990 she replaced Antonella Ruggiero as the singer of Matia Bazar, one of the main italian bands in the 80ies, you may have heard of that.
Her brother is a drummer, instead. Music definitely runs in the Mango family!
I like her and the contrast in this song due to the lyrics being much less "happy" than the rhythm may suggest, there is something deep in there, and lots of people can relate.

I'd be so interested and excited to see your opinion and reaction to another great singer from Sanremo, who is very popular now, Annalisa. She came 3rd but many Eurovision fans were rooting for her especially. I think she is the best singer, she is so good and her song is lots of fun ,it's called Sinceramente. Her cover on cover night at Sanremo is even more exciting, vocally speaking, she did a great version of Sweet Dreams(are made of this) with another good singer, Rappresentante di Lista, I like it more than the original and she shows her range in it. Angelina is a great singer and her song is likely going to do well enough in Eurovision but for me, Annalisa is nr 1.

Again completely agree with your opinion! I see is a good song too and she has the voice but somehow for the first minute as you said you try to allocate the song and see if you like it or not, and finally you like it! But not sure if at a first listening for most in Eurovision it will be so successful! Is going to do well for sure, but to win? Unless she does a stunning performance I don't see her wining really!

She is the daughter of Laura Valente (an italian singer, member of the group Matia Bazar) and Pino Mango (one of the biggest italian singer-songwriter who sadly died while permorming on stage at one of his concerts in 2014 when Angelina was 13 and she was there when it happened!!!). To honour him she also performed her father's biggest song called "La rondine" during the cover night of Sanremo 2024 and in that exact moment each person here in Italy burst into tears, could you please react to that performance too?
