I'm shaping my first surfboard (a fish) with the help of John (@hwon_ton) and Frank (@fderubes).
Today we just worked on the template.
Next step is to buy the foam blanks and actually start shaping!

I’d make sure you get the template exactly how you like it, because it’s waaay too much work to take short cuts and end up with a board that isn’t what you know works or what you really wanted to begin with.

Ho Stevie! - honestly bro, it might be a good thing. I have a wider nose board similar to your black board, and as you know they tend to grab a lot.

Ho Stevie! - Have you looked at the Lost Short Round? Great step up board for Cali. I’m having a custom shaped right now. More Fishy shapes with flat rocker poke the nose a lot in better waves.
