2018 Civic Mirror Repair

- In this video, I walk through the steps to repair a broken Honda Civic side mirror. This is the 10th Generation Civic which is produced from 2016 to 2020 (maybe 2021?). The parts are readily available from Honda dealerships, but note that the "skull cap" is dependent upon the color of your car. In this case, the color code is NH731P. Look on the manufacturer's sticker inside the driver's door jamb. The color code is below the bar-code. The hardest part of this job is moving the little white pivot studs from the old mirror to the new one. Unfortunately, I did not catch this on film.

Glad it helped you!
Some confuse the set L housing 76255-TEM-M01,and another one is 76255-TBA-A02ZA say still fit with my 2019 civic sport cvt 2.0 . So i don’t know what different because I checked with website and show mirror and mirror 1
I got all the parts but the two screws that keep the mirror still and rotate the them. Is there a part number for those?
Your video saved me $1600! Thank you so much!
Thank you !saved me $400
Thanks for the video
Nice video!!
Thank you. This was very helpful and saved me $$$
What type of screws go in? I broke the mirror and got the parts to replace it, but I don't have the screws. I assume they fell off when the mirror got struck. That's the only part I'm missing
There are about 8 screws in the mirror assemble in total. Some are 4x12, 4x14 and 4x20. Try this link and match the pictures to the numbers you need. parts.bighonda.com/v-2018-honda-civic-coupe--si--6-speed-manual/interior-bumper--mirror-1 Most likely, 4x20 self tapping screws will work in most locations. Good luck.
@@brianaustin1328 oh crap you were right! I needed the 4x20 ones. Thank you!
@@MagaPeach Okay, good luck!
$564 total for 2019 Honda Civic mirror with a 6 month wait! I have replaced / installed but still yet to get camera lane assist on passenger door synced!
Thanks
Hi Brian, I have honda civic 2017 RS Hatch (1.5L turbo). The camera in passenger side mirror is broken. Glass and outer cover is fine just camera is broken. Is there any way of rather than replacing whole side mirror? (Australia)
Yes, just buy the part that is broken. Ask to see the part schematic for your vehicle at a Honda dealership (or find it online). Just order what you need.
@@brianaustin1328 thanks mate will do that
I have heated one…. This one has point to attach heated wires
İstanbulda nerde yaptırabilirim?
Thank you for this! Going to save me $150 in labor. Also, did your car have wires that needed to be attached anywhere? My 2018 Si has two wired coming out from where the mirror sits
Kenneth McNulty thanks for the feedback. Yes, those two wires are for the mirror heater element.
My man!!!
Hi Brian, does the mirror glass comes with the black rubber bushing? Mine was knocked out along with the glass on the highway where retrieval is not an option... Don't really want to spend $400 to buy a entire assembly just for that stupid bushing...
All of the parts are separate. However, you can buy the parts individually.
@@brianaustin1328 I thought you said in the video that the white plastic bracket comes with the glass...? I checked with the dealer, they don't sell the rubber bushing separately.
@@lastempire7302 The parts are all individually purchasable. Look at a parts schematic for your specific car model and year. For the two Civics I repaired, the glass did have the black plastic piece glued to it. Is that what you mean? Here is an example of a parts diagram: www.hondapartsconnection.com/oem-parts/honda-2018-2020-honda-civic-mirror-sub-assembly-l-r-c-76258tega01?origin=pla&gclid=CjwKCAjwtdeFBhBAEiwAKOIy531_MeoMKP8mW8_xATPNuFBJnaM7kkIId_IqzcqcZkAmXmhdfekz9RoCtwAQAvD_BwE
@@brianaustin1328 yes, that's what I need to know. Thanks Brian!
Do you happen to know the part number for the right side housing?
If your right mirror has a camera, the part number is 76205-TBC-A02ZA. The best way to find part numbers is to search parts by your VIN from the parts diagram. Most Honda dealer websites allow this. Here is an example: www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/
My husband and father-in-law followed this for my car, but the mirror now won’t move up or down (it will move side to side). Do you know why this could be?
One of the mirror posts wasn’t connected when reinstalled, likely.
Had the same problem. You are probably missing the small metal ring that is supposed to go around the white plastic part with teeth that the motor spins. I ended up having to use a 12 mm split ring from Hobby Lobby and cut it with wire cutters to make it match the one I didn't lose so it could fit comfortably without falling off. Sorry if the explanation was convoluted, tried my best to have it make sense, lol.
Do you think it's possible to snap the glass/mirror out without breaking it? I cracked just the housing and I think I can fix it myself (certainly thanks to your video!), but my gear is getting the mirror out without breaking it. Thank you!!
Yes, this is possible. Just don't use anything that will apply too much pressure to the back of the glass - like a screwdriver. Use plastic tools.
Would that part fit a 2018 civic si coupe ?
Yes
Many of you asked where I get my parts. I use Gary Yeomans Honda parts department online. They offer deeper discounts than most Honda dealers. Updated 5/19/2021: well, they used to... Now looking for another source.
Will this work with honda civic se 2018?
@@nathanbiswek5563 The assembly procedure is the same as your car is the same generation of Civic (Gen 10), but as there are variations throughout the model years, you should order the parts you need by model year or from your VIN.
Brian, I am not too bright but where on Gary's sight do you look at for the driver side mirror? My mirror is fine but the outer shell was damaged.
Go to Gary Yeomans Honda web page (most Honda dealers sites are similar), then click on "Service and Parts," then click on "Parts and Accessories." Search for your vehicle by VIN then search for your parts. I like using the parts diagram to know I'm buying the right part. The other shell is called the "skull cap." Be sure to buy the right color! :)
@@brianaustin1328 so since my mirror is fine, I shouldn't need to buy a new mirror correct? Just need skull cap
Just saved me $150 Honda tried quoting me to do this lol
How much did the parts cost you
About $95 including shipping.
@brianaustin1328 where did you buy them from I just called dealership and housing and the cap were 250 bucks
Better to get a new asembly...
You can, but it is much more expensive.
I Broke my wifes car i found one on ebay oem $275 lucky me same color and in mint cond. not to Bad ...👍🏻
